I'm not up to speed on what's coming out, simply because I've been busy packing up to move in 2 weeks and probably won't be buying anything until after I unload at the other end.

I do plan on picking up the Hammer Horror Collection to go w/ the Universal Monsters Legacy.

May 4th:
The Last Samurai
Samurai Jack: Season 1

I plan on renting ROTK for the bonus features, but i have no means to buy it. I'm going to save my money and do the EE at the end of the year.

I'll prolly rent "The Last Samurai" too as i didn't hear many positive things. Who knows, i may like it!!! I don't get the directors logic though. Tom Cruise is neither a samurai nor is he the last one, so that logic alone kinda makes me iffy towards the film. :D

The Last Samurai was pretty cool.... not a fantastic movie by any means, but there are some really great images & scenery (sp?). That's mainly the reason I'm buying it.

It definitely was no Shogun, that's for sure!

I think you'll like the film Guyute, give it a shot.

As for the title "The Last Samurai" refering to Cruise's character, I'm not sure if that was the director's intention. Though the title is never really explained I always figured he was refering to Ken Watanabe's character Katsumoto or he meant "Samurai" in it's plural form.

Most likely sometime in November like the last 2, but as far as I know an official date hasn't been set.

I forgot about "The Good The Bad and The Ugly" Special Edition this month. 18 mins of restored footage and a beautiful transfer, had to pick this one up. I highly recommend it. :smoker:

I picked up "Miracle" on Tuesday. Great movie.
Nice dvd too. I'm surprised it was 2 discs, considering it was huge at the box office.

Oh yea, 2 great classics this month, the before mentioned The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, and Enter the Dragon 2 disk special edition! Gotta get my Bruce Lee DVD.

I'll be getting the new wave of Disney Treasures, along with LOTR:ROTK, and probably the DVD of Willie Nelson Live at Billy Bob's. I'm trying to cut back on DVDs for a while, help out the old cash flow.

Same here. I just moved. I'm considering getting extra copies of the Donald and Mickey sets to sell on ebay after they go out of print. I figure it will pay for all the others if I do. I missed the Mickey and Goofy sets from the first waves, and can't believe what people are selling them for.

Well I picked up my ROTK today, but didn't see Bubba Ho-Tep anywhere.....

Does anyone know if this one was really released today?? Maybe it got delayed or something...

05-25-2004, 07:27 PM
Bubba Ho-Tep is scheduled for a May 25th release Reefer Shark but I'd wager you might need to go to Suncoast or some other larger video chain due to it being a fairly obscure title. As far as I know it wasn't delayed.

They are showing TV commercials on Comedy Central for Bubba Ho-Tep, but I didn't see it at Target (and didn't think I would).

I did buy the Special Edition of Saving Private Ryan today, but have only watched the movie so far, so I can't comment on the extras.

Thanks for the replies guys. It was sold out at most places around here, but I did find it at Tower records tonight.

Also scored the old Ralph Bakshi animated flick "Wizards", I remember I used to love that movie when I was a kid! Scored it for $10 at Suncoast.

I picked up Yu Yu Hakusho Volumes 19 and 21 on DVD last Saturday. This Saturday I am either getting Yu Yu Hakusho Volume 22 (I THINK its the latest volume, not sure) or Lord of the Rings: Return of the King on my trip to Oklahoma City.
