I don't know if this is already common knowledge or not. I'd never come across it before.

In the current issue of "Scary Monsters Magazine" (issue #50). There's an article on an early 1970s horror movie called "Nightmare In Blood" which was directed by John Stanley who regularly updates his "Creature Features Movie Guide" book. The movie is about an actual vampire who poses as an actor who plays a vampire.

Anyway, the actor who played the vampire is anmed Jerry Walter whose carreer goes back to radio's "Jack Armstrong, the All-American Boy." According to this article, Jerry Walter also voiced the stormtroopers in ANH.

I'd scan a picture of him, but mines packed up for my impending move.

Wow. Having SW actors in your home, let alone allowing you to pack them in boxes, is quite an honor.

I thought there were different voices for various stormtroopers. Does that article say if he did the voices for all the troopers? That'd be interesting if it was true (I haven't paid too close of attention to their voices).

Yeah, I caught my little typo just as I pushed "return." It should read "my scanner."

Anyway, it says he did the voice for all of them. This is actually something I liked quite a bit about ANH, and was disappointed about TESB and ROTJ. I liked that the stormtroopers spoke, and even had personality traits. The two troopers talking about cars outside the tractor beam controls is one of my favorite touches.

I was glad the clonetroopers also had dialogue in AOTC. Too bad most of the Jedi didn't.

It doesn't sound too much like the same guy, but I guess it could be true. Now they just need to re-dub them with Temuera Morrison's voice, and we're good to go (provided that all of them are clones, which we don't yet know for sure).
