View Full Version : SSG members favorite games of all times!

05-02-2004, 02:13 PM
After getting the enjoyment of LandoIMP's top 200 game list, I started thinking of my own (me thinking can always be dangerous territory). Anyhow, I tought it would be cool if the SSG members came up with some lists, and we could compare our favorites. Here's what I'm thinking:

Make a top 25 overall list (or top 10 if you don't want to go that long)
Then make seperate lists of top 5 per system.

Sound cool? I need to rehash my lists and I'll get posting.

Well, here's my list:

1. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
2. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
3. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
4. LoZ: Wind Waker (GCN)
5. LoZ: Link's Awakening (GB)
6. Harvest Moon (SNES version only)
7. Animal Crossing (GCN)
8. Crazy Taxi (GCN)
9. Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (N64)
10. SimCity (SNES)

I can honestly say, if not for Zelda games, I wouldn't even own a video game system. That's one of the main reasons I stick with Nintendo. I just bought the GBA version of the original LoZ and I hope to be able to add it to my list soon.

I enjoyed "Pick on MiniRock and JarJarBinks." :sur: What? That wasn't a game?

No really. I don't play all too often, but I enjoy Rebel Assault on my Gamecube as well as the sequel to it that I haven't played much. I always got into PacMan (just got one of those new Atari Joystick things. Ubercool!) and Space Invaders (which I have on my Samsung I700 phone/PocketPC.

I also enjoy a good game of "war" with the kids now and again. :)

2. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
3. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Majora's Mask was a better game than Ocarina of Time. Aside from the superior graphics (which was a given) I liked the more original story and the fact that time passing actually meant something in the game. With OOT you could stand outside for days in game-time, but no time at all would have passed whenever you entered a castle or dungeon. So, the time element in OOT was little more than window dressing (similar to how time passes in Wind Waker).

Add to that, the darker and more disturbing story and Majora's Mask is the clear winner.

I want to add another game.

Food Fight - Atari

I loved that game, now with all these little hand held plug into the TV Atari games coming out I really hope they release this one.
