I stopped to visit my brother at work yesterday and saw some carded samples of a few of the OTC figures. I figured I'd share what I saw for fans eager to buy these. From the Dagobah wave, I saw Luke, R2 and Yoda. The Yoda is awesome. It's a great sculpt (with two separate legs). The only probably I see might be with poseability, because he's sculpted to be posed holding the stick with both hands. I think that might limit what you can do with him. The Luke is great, too. He's packaged doing a handstand in the blister, and the head sculpt is much better than the photo Hasbro printed (there's even a smudge of dirt on his cheek). I didn't see the alternate arms and head though, because they're packaged underneath the blister and hidden by cardboard. The R2 was okay but the "electronic scream" is very annoying.

I also saw three re-issues: Han Solo, Chewbacca and Darth Vader. The Han is the COMMTech Cantina version, so nothing earth shattering there. The Chewie is the POTJ Mechanic version, only he's packaged with the POTF2-style bowcaster and no goggles or welding tool. And the Darth Vader is the Saga Throne Room Duel version, which disappointed me because I would've liked to have seen the Death Star Clash version instead.

All in all the packaging and card art looks great. I think everyone will be thrilled with these figures.

When does it come out next?

Sometime next month. I know the new issue is the one with the new 12" vintage-style Boba Fett on the cover, but the carded figures I saw will not be in that one. They'll be in the one after that.
