I just saw a picture of the new C-3po case from San Diego and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw my good buddy Han from the Commtech line. I am tired of see this figure. It is not a bad figure but how many times do we need to see this figure. If the case comes out before December it will make the fifth time he will be released this year. Why not pack in figures that no one would mind getting tons of like a stormtrooper. I could rant but I can't see where elaborating would prove my point more.

No way, we need like an army of this one scene-specific figure, over and over and over again until we can't see anything BUT Han CTC. We need an entire line with just the 1 figure in it, he'll be in everything from vehicle pack-ins to carrying case pack-ins to 2 different lines' basic carded figures and more! Han Cantina will be EVERYWHERE, like Paris Hilton but more life-like and not as cheap.

After all, it's not like we got enough of him when he was on CLEARANCE AT TRU FOR MONTHS FOR TWO FREAKIN' DOLLARS!!! As good a figure as this is, it's still a bit too scene-specific and the face still needs work, I can understand putting it out one more time in OTC, but this is ridiculous Hasbro. It's got to stop!

Stop it Hasbro. Time to retire his number to the rafters.

Most overproduced figure ever. 'Nuff said.

I'm with you guys there. This has been the most over-reissued figure EVER! Considering it just bowed, what... four years ago, it's been reissued to death. And... for all that it's worth, retire that "all-new likeness" Leia as well.

All the HOF figures should be retired. Once your in the hall, you are immortal. Make a new Han already. :beard:

I don't really understand the thinking behind releasing basic OTC figures that are so close to the new VOTC versions in appearance (from a distance). Why not reissue POTJ Bespin Han or Death Star Escape Han (with the Stormtrooper belt on) instead of Commtech? Aren't they cannibalizing sales a little? I noticed they're not making this "mistake" with Tatooine Luke...... have they finally decided we've seen enough of those? Every VOTC figure except him is there in the basic OTC line. I don't understand why they'd want us to be able to opt out from buying the more expensive figures so easily.

Just for kicks (ow!), here's a list of every time this Han has been released.
*1999 - Commtech POTF - "Han Solo with Blaster and Holster" - with Commtech chip
*2003 - Saga gold - "Han Solo (Flight to Alderaan)" - with see-through base
*2004 - Hall of Fame/Saga gold - "Han Solo (Flight to Alderaan)" - with both see-through and black bases
*2004 - OTC - "Han Solo (OTC #6)" - with black base
*2004 - OTC - "Millennium Falcon Crew" - pack with Millennium Falcon
*2004 - OTC - pack with C-3PO Carry Case
There's gotta be more that I'm missing. This is getting out of hand!

I think you copied the POTJ Obi Wan (also done to death) list although he wasn't in Hall of Fame or gold Saga card.

CTC Han is not the one in the DVD set, that one is ESB Han Bespin from POTJ.

And to think that I actually liked this figure in 1999. Now I'm just sick to death of seeing him attached to nearly every new release.

He was an okay figure when he first came out and all we had to compare him with was the vintage and 1995 versions. Now there have been too many improved versions of ANH Han (POTJ, 25th Anniversary, VOTC) for me to ever want to see this particular toy again.

I agree too, its redicoulous to have this many Hans exactly like this. I mean ,I love Han as much as the next guy, but ya know, release a new one, like Endor Gear or somethin, not the Cantina one OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER....

But we can get one of each and re-live the excitement when an army of Han Solo clones storms Dex's Diner in Revenge of the Sith and sing a spirited, drunken rendition of Elton John's "Texan Love Song"!!

Or not.

I recently picked up the new VOTC Han. Hasbro, will you by back the 30 obsolete han's I already have? I'll trade you 2 for 1? I have multiples of like every han figure, and the VOTC makes 90% of those look so GD nasty and outdated. You want a good laugh? Compare the 95 and 04 Han's. Unbeleiveable. And then to top it off, I had to pay $5 bucks more for the new one, becasue it was hermatically sealed in a ridiculous case. I'm sure those that do not open they're "Action Figures" like these, but the one I got was all scraped up so it wouldn't have been worth anything to anyone anyway. I will assume, you won't take me up on my trade hasbro, so does anyone else have any suggestion of waht one should do with 30 Han Solo Figures? ....

You could give them away at work as a pack-in with everything you do. :D

Maybe there's a recycling center that will take them and shred them for you and you might even be able to claim it as a tax deduction. :D

Good God, why do you have 30 of them in the first place? Are you going to have them fight Tycho's 40 SA Clone Troopers?

I actually still think this is the best Han, particularly the face likeness. I think it even looks better than the VOTC Han (though admittedly mines poorly painted and if I find another one I'm trading it in) but I agree, enough is enough.

What are the 2 Millenium Falcon references on the below lists? Does he come with the vehicle? I haven't seen it yet, and was unaware it came with any pack-ins. That would explain one of the MF references, but what's the other one?

As far as the carrying cases go, I bought the MF one to get the innaccurate Wedge (I never saw the corrected one) and the Scanning Crew Trooper, not for the crummy carrying case. It seems that at the time hasbro was wise enough to know that we'd be more likely to shell out $20 (or whatever they cost) to buy a crappy carrying case if it came with a new figure, than nothing, or someone we already had (though the line was still young then, there wasn't really anyone that wasn't still available to give us).

I don't think anything has changed. Give us a new cantina character or a new droid or something. This way we'd buy it for the figure and some kid who was actually buying it for the case (yeah, right) would get something pretty cool with it, even if they didn't know who they were.

With do-si-do Han included, this is just one more SW item from Hasbro that I don't have to spend money on, so in a way, I say thank you, Hasbro.
