I just read on millenniumfalcon.com that a new version of Episode I is going to be rereleased on DVD featuring a completely CGI Yoda. WTF?! I just buy the stupid thing, and now a new one is coming out?!? Anyone have any more info on this? :dead:

Well, that has been rumored for a while. However, no release date has been announced. So, I would not worry too much at this time. However, it should also have the Bail Organa scene as well and other tweaks.

I wouldn't mind seeing a replacement of the sock puppet yoda.

Ep I always struck me as a little bloated, so adding scenes simply to make the movie tie in better to the others seems like a bad idea.
CGI yoda is okay in TPM, but the ESB puppet must remain forever! Taking him away would be blasphemy!
I don't want them to touch the ESB and ROTJ Yoda but I would have NO problem with them CGI-ing the AOTC Yoda into TPM . . . the TPM puppet is downright creepy IMO. :p

Word Cae, a better Yoda for Ep1 would be an improvement. Just dont F with the OT Yoda.

Agreed... but I don't know that I would buy another copy of that movie.

I would buy another copy of Phantom Menace if they made changes. The Yoda is Episode I did look terrible.

I don't think they would have any reason to change the OT yoda to CGI as they made every effort to make the PT CGI yoda as much like the OT puppet as possible.

I remember reading late last year or early this year where production on TPM and AOTC DVDs had stopped.
A SE of TPM and AOTC would make sense.

My guess is this will be in the Archival Editions boxed set in 2007 or so.

I am glad to have a better looking Yoda in there. The puppet had no facial expressions or movements like the OT one. I just wish they would have done this earlier. I never bought the SE videos because about a month before I found out about them, I had just bought the 'one last time' ones.

I think AOTC needs changes more than TPM.

Yeah, more nudity and swearing. ;)
