View Full Version : Which OTC & VOTC figures are rereleases?

Sorry to start a new thread for such a simple question, but for the life of me I couldn't find this info in an existing thread. I'm pretty sure that all of the VOTC are new, but I'm not sure about the OTC. Most are easy but I can't figure out some, for example, the Stormtrooper or R2-D2. If someone could point out the rehashes and possibly where they showed up first it would be much appreciated.

So far, the only new OTC figures are:

Dagobah Luke
Dagobah Obi Wan
Dagobah R2 (well, really it's an extreme rehash from the old Power FX line I think)
Cloud Car Pilot
Bespin Leia

All the rest are repacks, some with a few minor changes (like the "cleaned up" Saga Bespin Luke).

All the VOTC figures are original sculpts. Hope this helps some!

I would also say that the Scanning crew guy is new, because he only came with the Falcon carrying case and never carded, so alot of us missed him the first time around.

None of the VOTC are rereleases, they're all brand new sculpts. Of course, some of them, like Artoo, look like rereleases since they've pretty much perfected that figure over the last 9 years and can't really do much to improve on the versions out there now.

Dagobah R2 (well, really it's an extreme rehash from the old Power FX line I think)

They have also added the screeching noise he makes.

Also from what I've seen the following have new paint jobs

Hoth Vader
Luke Bespin
tusken Raider
Bib Fortuna
Gammorean Guard

Can't remeber if there are any more but I think thats it.

What about Wicket? Is this the re-release of the ewok two pack or does he have new paint also???? Thanks.

I'd say Jawas are one of the repack figures that worth to pick up.

There's exact repacks, then there's resculpts and then there's also repaints.
The "Key" for each is such:
RP=Exact Repack
ERS=Extremely resculpted figure that it's almost "New"
RS=Resculpt-was previously made as a figure but has been sligthly resculpted for this line
RT=Repacked figure but with a new or touched up paint scheme
NBM=Never before been manufactured
The list reads as -the number of the figure, the name of the figure, which movie it's from and the type it is as explained by the Key.

Here's the complete list of 38:
01 Luke Skywalker (ESB) ERS
02 Yoda (ESB) ERS
03 Spirit Obi-Wan (ESB) ERS
04 R2-D2 (ESB) RP
05 Luke Skywalker (ANH) RP (Though the teeth have been slightly fixed so they are not "bucktoothed"
06 Luke Skywalker (ROTJ) RP
07 Han Solo (ANH) RP
08 Chewbacca (ESB) RP Though it appears the eyes were touched up a little
09 Princess Leia (ANH) RP
10 Darth Vader (ROTJ) Not sure but it looks like a RP
11 Scout Trooper (ROTJ) RP
12 R2-D2 (ANH) RP
13 C-3PO (ANH) RP
14 Boba Fett (ROTJ) RP
15 Obi-Wan Kenobi (ANH) RP
16 Stormtrooper (ANH) RP
17 Wicket (ROTJ) RP
18 Princess Leia (ESB) ERS
19 Cloud Car Pilot (ESB) NBM (as a modern fig that is)
20 Lobot (ESB) ERS (This over the "buff" version in the Nineties)
21 TIE Fighter Pilot (ANH) RP
22 Greedo (ANH) RP
23 Tusken Raider (ANH) RP
24 Jawas (ANH) RP
25 Snowtrooper (ESB) RP
26 Luke Skywalker (ESB) RP
27 IG-88 (ESB) RP
28 Bossk (ESB) RP
29 Darth Vader (ESB) RP
30 Gamorrean Guard (ROTJ) I'm told it's a slight repaint to the face so I'll say RT
31 Bib Fortuna (ROTJ) RP
32 Lando Calrissian (ROTJ) RP (from the recent SAGA fig no less)
33 Princess Leia (ROTJ) RP
34 Darth Vader (ANH) RP
35 Han Solo (ROTJ) RP
36 General Madine (ROTJ) RP
37 Lando Calrissian (ROTJ) RP
38 Imperial Trooper (ANH) RP True enough this was only found in some Falcon carrying cases, but it is an exact repack, nevertheless.

So in actuality, none are completely new and only one hasn't been made in the modern line (starting from 1995) and only 4 others have been redone as sculpts so as to call the ERS (or almost new figures)

Thanks Sal. I will knock Wicket and Bib off my "to get" list. I appreciate the information!
