Can anyone tell me if the Darth Vader (OTC-10) is the exact same figure as the Saga 03-18 figure? Is the helmet removable? I don't want to duplicate figures in my loose collection. Can anyone provide a list of OTC figures that are exact sculpts from another series?

Thanks!

Yes, the first Vader released in the OTC wave (not VOTC) is the rem helmet Vader from last year - just with the helmet on - the packaging even states ' Rem Helmet.'

The paint op may be a bit different, but I do not think so.

I am 99% sure that the OTC Vader (Return of the Jedi) is the same as the Saga figure. Hope this helps! :)

Thanks for the list, darthzirock! Maybe we need a "sticky" thread in the OTC section with this info in it.

Darth Vader (ANH) #34: POTJ Masters of the Dark Side & SAGA HOF:

Am I correct in assuming this figure was also released in SAGA '03 as #32 Darth Vader (Death Star Clash)?

You would be correct. :)

Of note: R2D2 from the OTC is exactly the same as the Saga Hall of Fame version. These 2 differ from the original release of this R2 back in POTJ inasmuch as the POTJ version has carbon scoring and the latter 2 are "clean". Also, the Tusken Raider will have new paint along with the Jawas, the Gam guard and Bib Fortuna. Wicket may or may not have an additional paint application to the stitching on his hood which would separate him from his 2 previous incarnations from the POTF2 line.

As a loose collector, I've been trying to keep track of these differences myself. One site that SSG isn't too friendly with (Really Simple to figure out which one) has been posting comparison shots in their photo archive with the loose OTC versions beside the original releases.

Of the repaints I have only Greedo and Luke X-Wing so far. I don't really see much of a difference in the Lukes besides the buck teeth and helmet dirt. Greedo seems to have a new application over the yellow stripes on his sleeves making them look a little more gritty.

Is this the same Vader as the Saga Darth Vader "Death Star Clash"?

If so I can take that one off my list, I don't go for redundant figs in new packaging...well as much as I can avoid it, which is now not that much cause I do one of every fig at Kebco.

Yes it is.

I can confirm that this is true. Also on the previous 2 incarnations the white/grey fur around his mouth and on the tips of his ears matched the fur on his stomach. On the OTC version the face and ear fur are now a lighter than his stomach.

Thanks, Hellboy. I was about to trade my Wicket that I found today, but now I will keep him since he is repainted. :)

Yup, I feel that one! Although I do like these new OTC figs on the cardbacks...reminds me of the vintage days and I don't mind having them on cards (as all my other dups are open) but I'm thinking (not sure yet) of dropping the "one of every fig club" right before EP3 figs come in full swing. I'm thinking I'll just order the ones that appeal to me because I don't know if I want all of them or not...still very undecided! :ermm:

Are we talking about #10? He's actually from ROJ, and has the removable helmet - exactly like 2003's Saga ROJ Throne Room battle Vader. The two figures appear to me to be identical (though I never did crack open my OTC one, I've traded it already).

Oddly enough, on the Canadian card back it describes the #10 Vader as being from "Empire Strikes Back". We've got the whole OT covered, anyhow. :)

Ok there's the darth vader with the Hoth background which I believe (but not 100% sure) is the POTJ Emperor's Wrath DV sculpt and then there's the Emperor's Throneroom background darth vader which is the one JJ spoke of above. Both are rehashes.

In a way I'm lucky I haven't bought any SW figures in the past 5 years. These are all new figures to me and the OTC give me a good place to start fresh.

Looking back, I think this post is supposed to be in regards to OTC basic figure #34, another Darth Vader. This is the one that will be the 3rd (and possibly 4th?) release of the Darth from the POTJ Masters of the Dark Side 2 pack. As far as I can tell, we got this Darth first with Maul, then as the Saga Hall of Fame Darth Vader, then as the 2003 Saga Death Star Clash Vader (as posted above) and this year as OTC basic #34. That's a lot of mileage, maybe even as much as Commtech Han!

That list rocks. I didn't realize that they were gonna release so many figures in such a short amount of time. I better get on my high horse and start buying.

There's actually four OTC Vaders if you count the one included with the Vader TIE Fighter. That's a lot of Sith!

5 if you count VOTC Vader.

Oh, and to clarify, OTC #10 is indeed the same fig as Saga #18.
