I just read here on the Forums about some rare Action Fleet ships. Can someone review which ones are the rarest as I had no idea? I am pretty sure that I have all of them except the Rancor. never could find one with a decent box. I do have the Tie Defender, green-versioned Awing, and 2nd version of Ywing.

There will probably be other ideas on this, but the AF I consider harder to get than most are:

I wish they weren't so damn HTF...I love the action fleet ships and have a lot of them, and would like to get the rest of them. I had the Defender and E-Wing, but I'm not a huge SW fan and didn't realize they were HTF. Otheriwse I never would have traded them for GI Joes. I just figured I could buy another on ebay later...boy was I wrong!

i think the a-wing that you are referin' to swaf, is the internal hinge varient, this was also the case for the shuttle tyderium.

when af's were 1st released in '95, the a-wing, and the shuttle's canopy hinges were installed as a hidden "U" hinge that was mounted internally within the cockpits. at some point during the production run (and we know that it was prior to the gold labling that was introduced in '97 for the se movie version), the canopy hinge mount was changed on these two ships to the current (yeah right, like anything regarding action fleet these days is current), external hinge mount, above and behind the cockpit.

It was very early in the production run, possibly as early as the second pressings of the molds. I feel the reasons for the A-wing change are fairly reasonable, the original hinge gets very loose and doesn't really work nicely. I know this from messing with a friend's A-wing, as the one GSJ got me remains in its sealed, numbered package. :D
