I forgot a few things, but mostly deliberately. A-wings and Y-wings might be too obscure. Ackbar would fly the B-wing though.

Because of the shrunk, funky scale, I think the capital ships like a Star Destroyer the size of the current Playskool Falcon would be fine as well as pretty cute.

This is a great collection. I love how you can't possibly lose any of the pieces and it easily carries with you for play anywhere!

I love these toys, but the current ones are too expensive, IMO.
I've only seen them once under $6 and that was for $5 at TRU of all places.

Tycho

Price is an issue:

$6????

Two poseable figures:

Darth Vader (lightsaber moves)
Obi-Wan Kenobi

One poseable figure, one not:

Luke (lightsaber moves)
R2D2

Chewbacca (arms move)
C-3PO

Anakin
Padme

Obi-Wan
Jango Fett

NO poseable figures:

Han (Bespin)
Leia

Yoda
Clone Trooper

$6 gets you 2 super-articulated GI Joe figures with accessories.

$6 gets you 1 super-articulated Star Wars basic figure with accessories.

What is up with the Galactic Heroes' pricing.

They would be worth $2.99 - 3.99 for two (or $1.50 abouts or less per each of them). Aside from licensing, aren't these about what you could get out of a gumball machine with a parachute or something?

JediTricks

They're $5 at my TRUs, WMs, and Targets.

This new 4th wave looks nifty, with Luke definitely leading the way for me. I also would like to see more ships in this line, the X-wing from the previous incarnation is extremely lonely with no TIEs to chase.

I love the line, but it seems to be hovering around nowheresville even though all my local stores are sold out of them or running low a lot of the time. I hope Hasbro keeps it alive to do more fun stuff with it, it's the ONLY line with a Millennium Falcon that has the cockpit accessable from the aft compartment.

Droid

I love the line, but I think they should avoid running it into the ground, or making every possible character. They should stick with iconic characters where possible.

I think some must haves are:

TIE Fighter with Pilot
Jar Jar Binks
Qui-Gon Jinn
Count Dooku
Emperor Palpatine
Jabba the Hutt (wouldn't that be adoreable)

Some really good ideas, though less necessary:

Landspeeder
Slave I with Han in Carbonite
Greedo
Cantina Band Member
Lando in Empire outfit
An old Empire/Jedi Yoda with cane (rather than lightsaber)
Bib Fortuna
Episode I Queen Amidala (white face makeup)
Bespin Leia
Bespin Luke
Dewback
Bantha

Would be cute:
the Max Rebo Band
Salacious Crumb
I'd like to see a Galactic Heroes Hammerhead and Hem Dazon
Admiral Ackbar

Tycho, I think you have listed a few too many ideas. I don't think it is feasible to redo the entire line in Galactic Hero form. Kids aren't going to want Captain Piett or Tarkin! We were lucky to get them in the regular line! And some of what you listed (Cloud Car, Sail Barge) hasn't even been made in the regular line! (I know Hem Dazon hasn't either, but you know how I feel about that).

I think the pricing is very reasonable.

I have seen these for five bucks a pack of figures. I passed on some of them and bought some of them. I saw the Falcon today at Target for about 30 beans. Comes with three figures, but I will pass on that too.

It only comes with 3 figures now?
I'm assuming Han and Chewie are still there, Who's the 3rd and who'd they take out?

C-3PO

The Stormtrooper was the 4th, and you can still get a ton of these at KB Toys (at least mine here and possibly KB online). This is the blue Playskool Millennium Falcon.

The black boxed Galactic Heroes OTC Falcon takes out the Stormtrooper so Hasbro can sell the forth-coming Stormtrooper 2-pack for $5-6 in some soon-shipping assortment.

The appeal of this line was defined in another thread I recall from the past:

1) cute
2) child-suitable before you have to give up YOUR OWN 3 3/4 collection to your kids
3) no parts to lose - everything's attached
4) no super-articulation that makes you go: I've got him posed so cool I won't move him
5. cute scrunchy ships, with cockpit access from the hold of the Falcon
6. small collection, easily storable - and you'd throw them all in a sandwhich bag without "mistreating" valuable collector figures like the POTF2 Cantina Band Member or something.

7. did I mention they were "cute?" :D

Dark Marble

Yep, these are some of my favorite Star Wars toys right now. I would love to see a Tie Fighter and a Slave I in the line. Lets get some evil vehicles out there!! These Galactic Heroes toys are just a good idea, I don't know why but they are. :)

I like this line too. I bought 2 of each of the PlaySkool sets, but I've been holding off on these new figure packs since $5 each is a bit much. I did buy the bounty hunter wave since I figured those would go fast. I suppose if I had some rugrats I'd be snatching these new packs up for them (which is why I bought 2 of each of the Playskool - one for me, one for any future offspring).

Tycho

I think I could just give MY set of Galactic Heroes to any future offspring.

I don't consider them THAT collectible.

On top of it, they are pretty indestructible (so long as you give them to a child past teething age). I mean the paint jobs are pretty much on there...the Naboo Fighter and NON-ELECTRONIC X-wings should be pretty waterproof (as should be the Reek) and you can flex the characters' non-poseable limbs and they don't stay bent or anything, they're just sort of soft-but-firm flexible.

You just need to teach a child not to lose small figures like R2D2 and Yoda.

It's a great "training toy" to graduate into regular 3 3/4" play with.

I think Galactic Heroes are your first great give-away to kids once they are old enough.

And they are still "yours" as aren't your kids going to live with you in most cases?

Having seen the larger pics of the upcoming Jabba's Palace G.Heroes, I think it is vital that we get a cool skiff vehicle in this line.

True. My primary interest is still lies with the 3-3/4" line. The term "collectible" suggests some kind of investment with the potential of future return, and I don't buy toys for that reason. The gamble is whether my future children will even like Star Wars whether or not the old man does. I think half the fun would be getting down on the floor to play and experience the saga again through them.

Nah, I would consider the toys to be theirs if I gave it to them. Of course, I reserve the option to buy them back when they invariably outgrow the toys and want to get rid of them. They'd probably thank me later when they rediscover their childhood and start collecting again like many collectors do.

I bought the Bounty Hunters to have, mainly as a "curio". I don't think I'll give them to the kids, I've had a good look at a few of the other sets and feel that they won't do much for my little ones. Neither one of them has really taken to playing with the predecessors of this line, the Fisher Price "Little People", even though we have bucket after bucket of those portly little buggers. My kids seem to do better with things they can interact with more: doors that really open, dolls/figures they can move the limbs on or change the clothes/accessories, etc.

W.Hollywood Target Mina, I posted that find on the Just Found LA thread, but I am sorry I wasn't able to put one aside for you, I really should have tried to drag my heels for a few minutes longer. If you see a Boba/Dengar, you'll probably see 2 Stormtrooper sets, I think they're shipping in that ratio right now.

Oh, anytime. ;)

I think Hasbro should get brave and release a regular $5 carded set that is a scout trooper with a speederbike. How awesome would that be? It's not a major stretch since the molds are done and have been "paid for" already via the Playskool line, and would do well with army builders and kids alike. They could also release the Luke Endor w/ bike and do a new Leia Endor w/ bike, or release Leia & Luke Endor together making you buy 3 of those Scout Trooper sets. :D

You see what they're doing?

We just did that Scene-by-Scene Figures Not Made project early last year and came up with 50-100 good ones, about 211 total possible. Not counting E3, with 50 figures a year, that means that SW 3 3/4" collecting could die within 4 years or by 2009-2010.

They have the license until 2018.

Now we have COLLECTIONS of

Galactic Heroes
Unleashed
ForceBattlers (I just got these this morning, except Grievous was gone)- they're sweet!
JediForce - yup. Had to buy these

They have successfully CHANGED THE SIZE for future collecting!

3 3/4" will surely continue for 4-5 more years, and perhaps sporadically after that depending upon the TV show and how much EU they do.

But remember how a poll asked if they changed the size would we all scream, boycott etc?

Well we haven't. We voted FOR THE SIZE CHANGE with our dollars.

Now instead of losing any ground with our 3 3/4", we have lost our dollars with our 1", 3 3/4", 7", 10", 12"........uh it just goes on. What are Atacktix? .5"?

Agreed. The only one on my wish list who hasn't been made in 3.75" is Hem Dazon, but he is #2 on my 3.75" wish list. I think he is one of the more iconic characters in Star Wars and really think it is astounding Hasbro has never made him. I think if they did a Galactic Hero of him first I would attempt a head removal customization with perhaps Momaw Nadon's body.
