First off this movie was one of the funniest movies that I've ever seen. The puppetry was absolutely fantastic and Trey Parker and Matt Stone know just how to hit the spot with their humor.

But anywho the SW references in the movie that I caught were when they were in Cairo and they entered a tavern. As they walked through there was a band playing on instruments looked just like Figrin D'ans bands instruments and the tune they were playing sounded as much like the Cantina song as you can get without copying it. Also in the tavern was gas mask wearing patron that looked like Nabrun Leids also from the Cantina in ANH. The last reference that I saw was at the end of the movie when Gary walks up to Kim Jong Il's palace wearing a Jedi robe and he uses the mind trick on the guards to get past them. I was the only person in the theater laughing when each of the scenes came up but I didn't care a lick.

If you haven't already seen this movie I personally would recommend that you go see it ASAP.

i caught the references as well. pretty much get hit upside the head with them. i'd disagree about the movie though, it was a horrible piece of crap. definitely ninety some minutes of my life that i won't get back. not to say i didn't laugh, but it's not humorous enough to overcome the actual movie. the political commentary was unoriginal and would've been better handled by stan, kyle, cartman and the rest of the south park gang in 1/3rd the time.

I'm with Slicker here.
I could not believe how funny this movie was. Maybe because I expected less, I don't know, but I still laughed my butt off.
As for the political jokes, they did pickpretty easy targets but I didn't think they were unoriginal (for the most part). Some of them weren't too far from reality.

The Star Wars references were pretty easy to spot too. Also, when the blonde (forget her name) gets captured, she wears a red dress that looks exactly like the one from Temple of Doom.
