The pictures can be viewed here ( http://www.starwars.com/collecting/news/2004/12/news20041203.html ):

General Grievous: General Grievous (http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/generalgrievous/) is the tactical mastermind and monstrous leader of the Separatist army. A twisted mix of droid machinery and strange alien, Grievous is a deadly cyborg trained in lightsaber (http://www.starwars.com/databank/technology/lightsaber/) combat by the Sith (http://www.starwars.com/databank/organization/thesith/) Lord Darth Tyranus (http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/countdooku/). His mechanical reflexes, alien mind, and lack of scruples make him the deadliest Jedi (http://www.starwars.com/databank/organization/thejediorder/) killer of the Clone Wars. The action figure of Grievous comes complete with lightsabers, blaster pistol (http://www.starwars.com/databank/technology/blaster/), and base.

Tion Meddon: The remote world of Utapau has become the secret sanctuary of the Separatist forces. Local administrator Tion Medon has little choice but to accommodate their oppressive presence. When Obi-Wan (http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/obiwankenobi/) Kenobi visits the sinkhole-riddled planet, searching for Grievous, Tion does what he can to be helpful. This figure includes a blaster, a staff and a base.

R4-G9: On Obi-Wan's mission to find Grievous and bring an end to the Clone Wars, he flies with R4-G9 on his starfighter's wing. The brassy-colored astromech droid (http://www.starwars.com/databank/droid/astromechdroid/) serves not only as astrogational assistant and on-board technician, but in a pinch can also fly the starfighter on its own. R4-G9 has a special distinction in that the droid's color scheme was chosen for the movie by members of Hyperspace: the Official Star Wars Fan Club. R4-G9 comes with a planetary hologram and a base.

Wookiee Warrior: Kashyyyk (http://www.starwars.com/databank/location/kashyyyk/eu.html) is one of the many battle grounds of the Clone Wars. As Separatist forces invade a lagoon-side village on the Wookiee (http://www.starwars.com/databank/species/wookiee/) world, the native armies team up with Republic clone trooper (http://www.starwars.com/databank/organization/clonetroopers/)s to defend their home soil. This mighty Wookiee warrior comes with a blaster, a bandolier, a helmet and a base.

Anakin's Starfighter: By the time of Episode III, the Jedi have upgraded much of their starfighter arsenal with the new Eta-2 starfighters. Anakin (http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/anakinskywalker/) starts the film in a yellow-trimmed fighter, whose lines are strongly evocative of the TIE fighter (http://www.starwars.com/databank/starship/tiefighter/) designs still to come. Anakin's amazing piloting abilities make the difference in a daring mission to rescue Chancellor Palpatine (http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/palpatine/), who has been kidnapped by Separatist forces. The toy version of the starfighter has an opening canopy that can hold an action figure (sold separately), spring-open wings, firing missiles, and a retractable landing gear.

Grevious looks pretty darn good. I like them all actually.

12-03-2004, 11:12 AM
I think these are better than the AOTC preview figures. Although, I DO have to admit that I liked the preview Zam Wessell.

12-03-2004, 11:29 AM
I agree with you on that they are better than AOTC, but Iliked all the preview figures from AOTC.

12-03-2004, 12:42 PM
The only one I wasn't too keen on was the Clone Trooper. We got that corrected, though... :D

Sounds awesome, right in time for my birthday :)

Those pics are awesome, and now I've got some "just enough to whet your appetite without ruining anything" spoilers in my blood! :crazed:

General Grievous is the deadliest Jedi killer of the Clone Wars? Does this mean that the Jedi Purge begins before the Clone Wars officially end, or just that he racked up more Jedi casualties in the days leading up to the Purge? We all know Vader is the deadliest Jedi killer of the Purge, so hopefully Lucas isn't changing that fact.

So this Tion Meddon guy is a good guy? I think he beats out Chewbacca as the meanest looking good guy in the saga.

I thought the Wookiee was named Tarfurr or something like that. Is this a completely separate figure?

Utapau. . . Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time. A long time. :D

These figs aren't too bad. I myself liked the AOTC sneak preview figures except for Jango's stupid pose. I don't like how they just throw in some random droid though. I don't recall seeing the the AOTC sneak preview droid in the movie.

I like all of these. It seems as though the Jedi Starfighters wings in the movie actually have the spring-open feature on this and the 2002/2003 toy versions, which is cool, since I thought they would be open all the time. Now we know what that vehicle is with the open-winged starfighter in the trailer, right after Vader finishes getting up.

Hard to believe they will be here in just two months.

Sweet, these look great. I'm still not sold on this strange new package design yet but the figures look much better than what we got back in 02'. I sure hope that the droid slot can house a removable astromech droid rather than the fixed droid we had in the previous Starfighters. Hard to tell just by looking at that picture but overall I really love the design of these new Jedi Starfighters. Lets just hope Anakin fits in the cockpit. :nerv:

Chux, this is a Wookiee warrior, General Tarfull is the dude you're thinking of.

Yeah, the Wookiee warrior is not Tarrful, he'll get his own figure later.

Tion Meddon is an Administrator of Utapau. One of the business based conglomerates (I believe it's the Commerce Guild) has set up a safe haven there. Meddon doesn't like what they are doing and agrees to help Obi-wan however he can.

R2 is the droid in Anakin's starfighter. He is fixed in position. (It's a safety issue, that's why the droids are now all in the fixed position.) Wouldn't want the kiddies to flip the ship over and have the droid fall out and bop them on the head...would we?

12-08-2004, 08:23 AM
I'm still so surprised that Grievous was rendered so nicely for the Sneak Preview line.

12-08-2004, 11:46 AM
I'm not. He's gonna be the next Darth Maul or Jango. In the movie for about 12 seconds but they get made into a cult hero and have more back story than Han or Leia.

12-08-2004, 01:29 PM
Yeah... but they didn't put him in a completely stupid pose or give him a weak sculpt like the Clone Trooper in the AOTC preview wave. That's all I'm saying...

ALL of these sculpts are top notch in comparison to that preview wave.

Now does the starfighter come with an Anakin figure? Heard somewhere that it does!

I hate to bring up something negative, but if these are coming Feb. 1st, and most stores don't order and do inventory in January,

12-09-2004, 06:09 AM
Tha Cantina wave is most likely ordered already Tycho. Stores at this time have alot of inventory and orders. What sucks, is Jaff used to be able to tell us what was in the WM's. Now its back to blind searching.

12-09-2004, 08:05 AM
And these are already in "on order" status since the SKUs were made available in November.

I will be at Walmart getting my geek on at Midnight if I can confirm that these will be put out during the Witching Hour.
These all look great and the fact that Tarful has been bumped back for an army builder Wookie is awesome.
I so can NOT WAIT for these to pop!
Man, it's a good time to be a SW fan. ROTS is gonna rock!

Actually, between season 2 (and likely 3 as well) of Clone Wars, the Boba Fett novels, and most likely by May the comics and a hardcover novel or two, Grievous already has more backstory than Han or Leia. :)

Tarfull has not been bumped back. He is being released with the first waves of the new figure. The Wookie warrior is being released as a preview, as was always the case.
