Lego Clone Man Transformation $9.99
Lego Fighter Tridroid $14.99

I also noticed that they said in another part that 13 sets were do out next year. 2 in February, 9 in April, and 2 more in the Fall. The 9 in April are ROTS while the other 4 are classics. Can't wait to see which classics they came up with.

Sweet. I like the price tags on them too. Not too high.

7251 Darth Vader Transformation 9 Euro/$6.99
7252 Droid Tri-fighter 15 Euro/$14.99
7255 General Grievous Chase 25 Euro/$19.99
7256 Jedi Starfighter & Vulture Droid 25 Euro/$19.99
7257 Ultimate Lightsaber Duel 40 Euro/$29.99
7258 Wookiee Attack 40 Euro/$29.99
7259 ARC-170 Fighter 50 Euro/$39.99
7260 Wookiee Catamaran 65 Euro/$49.99
7261 Clone Turbo Tank 116 Euro/$89.99 (This is the Juggernaut for you EU fans-it can be seen in the far background or the teaser trailer on Kashyyyk, when the Wookiee Chief (Tarrful?) stands up and roars.

All these prices are in Euros. I don't have the translation of that to dollars, but you can bet the last set is going to be EXPENSIVE.

A Clone Turbo Tank? I am going to have to scope that out in the preview.

Here is a pic of it......

Lego Darth Transformation $6.99
As I said early, this might be good.

Lego Clone Man Transformation $9.99
I wonder what this set is? Rather odd name.

Lego Wookiee Drangon Flyer $29.99
This one, boy it could go with way. I've have to wait for the movie.

Lego ACR 170 Clone Fighter $39.99
Sound like it might be cool.

I just saw a bigger picture of the Clone Turbo Tank on Hyperspace and that is gonna make for one helluva Lego set. It has 10 monster wheels and what looks like caterpillar segements that turn independently.

I kinda reminded me of the vehicles that are used in Armageddon when they land on the asteroid.

Damn, some bizarre crap coming out of Lucas and Lego. The droid fighter is just lame and the grievous chase is laughable.

"Look, it's OB1 on Buckbeak!"

They way it's posed on the box reminds me of the slow speed OJ chase. And grievous looks to be Gasgano redeux.

http://www.rebelscum.com/photo.asp?image=http://www.rebelscum.com/toys2005/legorots_2005_7255.jpg

This thing is weird...
it's using Bionicle forearms (not generally used on main characters) for the legs of the cycle, I think those are X-pod lids for the wheel of the cycle, and pieces from the Dinosaurs line plus a new head for the beast. Oh, and Grievious seems to have Battle Droid legs which I loathe, so I hope he at least has a custom upper body.

I'm with you guys on Ep3, if this is the look of the film, it's too weird for my tastes.

Lego really hasn't gone to far a field with their SW sets. I've have a hard time imaging that they would start now on a movie year. The only bright side is that it might make more sense in context.

Except for the Wookieemobile, that 7258 set could be an Ep 2 set since both those droids were in AOTC.

So far I like the look of the majority of these sets. The Wookie battle must be huge as it's getting a lot of toy-time. Really like the Juggernaut and the Republic Starfighter.

Only problem will be lego's inflated price points... :greedy:

Kidhuman

Prices did not seem to be so bad for most of the sets, priced under or at 20 bucks.

Gievous seems t be the oddest part of ep3. if I could I'd cut him out and it might at least have some credibility. overall the designs for the new vehicls are pretty lame. really pushing the bounds of credibility again. never understood why lucas changes the arsenal every movie. some of these vehicles look so far fetched as to belong in something like Andromeda or Lexx. I definitely think Lucas and lego have lost the plot with this one.

LusiferSam
12-28-2004, 12:44 PM
I'm not sure I'd blame Lego for the designs. They're just working with what Lucas gives them, which is junk in this case. What I would blame on Lego is change in mini figures. The switch to flesh tones has me more enraged than ever. The stupid light-up figures aren't fixable because the way their have to be built or because of new heads. Oh, this ticks me off so bad I can't think strait. I'm really not sure why others aren't as mad.

never understood why lucas changes the arsenal every movie. some of these vehicles look so far fetched as to belong in something like Andromeda or Lexx. AHAHAHAHAHA!!! I totally see that! It's a good point, and since I'm familiar with both those shows, I can see what you mean in my head, a fair comparison.

That $50 Wookiee Catamaran, that thing looks like the worst $50 set ever, it looks like less pieces than in the $30 Mos Eisley Cantina set which seemed overpriced to begin with.

As for the light-up minifigs and the pink skin, since I'm already not thrilled with what we're seeing, I guess I just don't care anymore.

Yeah, I saw their photo, it's what I based my opinion on. I had a hard enough time parting with the money for last year's Dagobah X-wing set and that seemed to be a lot more toy than this just on the surface of the issue.

I dont know about this movie.. :dead:
I'm with you there, though at least now with this 7260 Wookiee Catamaran, kids can finally get their hands on the long-awaited "Waterworld" sets, though clearly Lego tossed out Kevin Costner's The Mariner action figure. ;)

I rarely complain about the price (it just not that big issue for me), but 50 bucks for that! I'm sorry but that's not a $50 set. Even with the light-up it just doesn't look like its worth that much.

Kidhuman
12-29-2004, 10:15 PM
I gotta agree with ya LS, it isnt worth 50, maybe 30 thats about it. Can you say Clearance buy??? :beard:

Has anyone noticed that what I would described as the most wanted minifigs are in the more expensive sets? Chewie and the extra wookie with the catamaran and Mace with the Clone Tank, for example. Meanwhile we find OB1 and Anakin again with the cheaper ones.

Plus where the hell is Padme? We got a crappy one with the Mos Espa Podrace/Ani's Podracer and none for EP2. Now zippo again for EP3?!

Kidhuman
12-30-2004, 04:00 PM
I see that now that you pointed it out. I dont have any Padme mini-figs at all. I still think they should sell an army of mini figs. 4 Clone Troopers w/ the AT-TE wasnt enough. I would buy them if they sold them like the basketball figures that never sold.

mastermatt24

Other than the some of the colors I think this set looks great!

Yoda "mint" green and sporting the '99 Scout Trooper head mold, that's a Swamp Trooper for sure. Suspension or no, I'm still not happy to see a wheeled SW vehicle, this looks so unimaginative, a wheeled AT-AT basically. Maybe it'll have fun features, but at the $90 pricepoint I'm going to be VERY unlikely to buy this one. The little flight pack is worn by a regular clonetrooper, and there looks to be a removable gunner emplacement, looks like a GI Joe set in some ways - which is a plus really. ;)

mastermatt24
12-31-2004, 01:03 PM
I dont know why but I like the wheels.. I would also love to see a mobil command center. (From the Battle of Yavin TCG)
