I currently am using old style footlockers to store my carded figures in. The problem that is begining to arise is as follows:
1. Getting harder and harder to find.
2. Thirty bucks per footlocker.
3. Never get things packed in perfectly, always a little space left over

Anyone have suggestions on types of containers, boxes, etc to store these in. I don't really like the rubbermaids, even though they are cheaper, because of the curve that is in the corners and the angling down to the bottom that the sides do.

You could always go the route that I'm gonna eventually go with and that is star cases. They're about $1 apiece so it may get pricey if you have alot of carded figs as I do. I'm currently using rubbermaid tubs right now and haven't had any problems........yet.

I'm with Slicker, I use Star Cases. Then I pack 'em in plain brown cardboard boxes. I use the largest boxes from Wal-Mart. They hold 24-30 figures (in Star Cases) depending on which size Star Case you use (1 or 2).

They are do get a bit expensive, but last time I moved I lost a few figures and I don't want that to happen again. Being in the military I tend to move every few years.

Star cases are a bit cheaper if you buy in bulk (100+). But after shipping, you still end up paying around $1.00 each for the Star Case 1 and about $1.20 for the Star Case 2. Luckily Hasbro ditched the larger bubbles at the end of the Soggy (Saga) line. :crazed:

Same here. I don't like the prospect of possibly keeping my collection in storage for up to 20 years if I decide to stay in. Do you display your collection and then take it down when you move or do you just keep it all boxed up?

And about ther size of some of the Saga bubbles. I just went home for Christmas leave and saw the Ephant Mon that I had purchased for the first time and was astonished at how fat the bubble was. That thing is ginormous. Congrats to anyone that found one in mint condition.

Slicker, I display some of them and store the rest. Right now a big chunk of my collection is in a Climate Controlled storage shed. I managed to find a mint condition Ephant Mon when he first came out, I only found the one at that time, now KB seems to be getting them, but most have damaged bubbles. I am looking at buying an acrylic case since he is way too big for a Star Case.

I perfer Rubbermaid Totes. They hold alot of figures and large vehicles. I have about 5 of them and about 12 boxes. I need to get more and remove the stuff from boxes and pack them into the totes.

I've said this before, I put mine in Yaffa blocks, then when I move, I just wrap some plastic wrap around them, load them on a cart, and place in my new residence, cut the plastic off and they are ready for display. Seeing as I have a lot of figures, I do have to break the Yaffa Towers down from 7 high to 5 high for the move, but that hasn't been a problem.

Whoops, I just noticed that you were doing this for storage. Definitly go for the rubbermaid containers, I store all of my older collection in those. Don't go with the cheap stuff though,, as it cracks and bends very easily.

I'm all about using Star Cases and keeping them in boxes til I have a home then start displaying them in a den of some sort.
