View Full Version : What does Lando do to the carbon block?

When Lando is kneeling down by Han after he's frozen, what do you think he's doing when he adjusts that little knob on the control panel? I'm sure this will get some funny responses, but hopefully some serious ones too.:D

Serious: He's checking to make sure Han "is alive and in perfect hibernation."
Funny: He's thinking some Colt .45 would taste pretty good right about then...

I assume he is checking levels to see if all went well.

He's turning on the switch that will slowly and impercetably remove Han's cuffs. :D

he's playing a quick game of tetris.
But seriously, adjusting the reception of the internal speaker system ready for the in-flight movie.

Billy Dee is notorious for forgetting his lines. Knowing that he might blow it at a critical point, he wisely left his "sides" on the floor where reference might seem natural.
Either that or he just got tired and had to kneel down.

He's using a little known gambling trick of the trade.... stalling. Twiddling with the knobs and switches in order to think up a cunning and astounding plan of escape and rescue.
Which obviously is above our be-cloaked Baron friend...... silly silly administrators. They have so little imagination..........

These responses are great, especially El Chuxter's.

He wanted to make Han's friends feel better about their frozen friend, so he stooped over and pretended to do something important before telling them what they needed to hear. Lando is such a compassionate character. :D
He was thinking about killing Lando for winning that card game and the Falcon!
Lando always regreted it!
08-21-2001, 05:43 AM
He was checking to see if he had flash-frozen the keys to the Falcon inside. Luckily, Han had left them in his jacket which was still in the cell. ;)
Lando was readjusting the cut of Han's shirt so it'd fit better in ROTJ. :D
We're all goofy on this one, huh?

I always thought he was checking on some Jiffy Pop....
That or he was checking the bleeps, the sweeps, and the creeps... :D
He was pressing the button that would change Han's shirt from The Empire Strikes Back to Return of The Jedi.:D

Perhaps he was opening up the little nozzle so Han could take a leak on his long journey back to Tatooine and not get his pants all wet.
Maybe he was trying to get a better radio station or one with Connie Chung reporting what was happening on Cloud City so he could plan his next move.
Or... he was opening up the tap so he could pour himself a "cold one"!
Lando dropped some money into the carbon block and wanted to see if it was in there!
He was trying to find the nozzle to pour the smooth taste of Colt .45 into to soothe Hans thirst.
THAT WASN'T A KNOB!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!

He was reading the defrost instructions for in the microwave.

He was playing simon.

He was lobotimizing him, ever notice how boring Han was in ROTJ? He wasn't even a little ticked at Lando for putting him in that predicament in the first place.
08-25-2001, 07:48 PM
that's probably the best response yet, bigbarada. A perfect fantasy explanation for Ford's lack of enthusiasm for ROTJ. In fact, when my son asks about it, I think that's what I'll tell him.
08-26-2002, 03:25 PM
he's doing, y'know, science stuff...
08-27-2002, 05:03 PM
He was magically taking away the block's gravity.
Okay, that was pretty bad. But really, to whoever said it, Han's cuffs were make of carbonite and thus melted away when Leia unfroze him.

He was turning up the BASS on the carbon block speaker system
he was looking at hans boogers frozen in his nostrials
He was fixin' his hair...carbon reflex your image like a mirror
He was tasting it because it was chocolate not carbon
