Just saw this on the SSG news page and thought it was a nice gesture on Lego's part to send these out as invitations. I don't remember which set, but I believe one of the EP3 sets is supposed to have her as a light-up minifig.

I wonder why that one is being made and not Padme (we still only have one female minifig from the prequels)? Does is have to do with the whole new lightsaber thing Lego is trying to push or is it because Lego would have a hard time making a prego minifig? :)

The coloring on this thing looks kind of off. It's difficult to tell from the picture on SSG because of the blue background, but it appears to have a yellow head. Am I correct? I thought Lego was trying to go for this whole "skin accuracy" thing and make the caucasian characters pink and the darker skinned characters brown. What's up with that?

Unduli has green skin doesn't she? I didn't think she was human so the new skin tones shouldn't apply anyway.

Yeah I saw a yellow head too. The unfortunate thing is we wont beable to get any of these. Maybe I can persuade Steve into getting us some of them.

I'm guessing it has more to do with the hair piece than any thing else. There are three SW specific hair pieces total. Lego seems to want to spend more time on helmets.

But then they could give her the Leia hair from Jabba's Palace. That would work for me. I think they believe buyers want more Jedi characters and that Padme's kind of ho hum.

Most of the female figs pegwarm, it doesnt give a good sign for other female characters in SW.

Yeah, that's true, but if the put a female minifig in a kick-A set with a cool other minifig, it should sell just as well as any other set, IMO. In fact, I wanted to get the MF largely because I wanted a non-bikini Leia and didn't want to pay $30 on bricklink.

Holy cow!!! I thought you were joking about Leia being $30 on BrickLink. Right now the cheapest SW Leia is $35 and there's some joker selling one for $168. That's insane. Both ESB Leias are around $20 and the ROTJ is about $7. I'm just at a lost for words.

Outlandish prices for mini-figs (or their accessories) are not uncommon, but yeah, it is hard to believe someone would pay that much for one. When the original 7190 Falcon jumped up to $300-400 on the secondary market, the Leia mini-fig from that set was routinely selling for $40-50 and sometimes higher. LEGO collectors will spend big from time to time, but factor Star Wars into the equation and you've got insanity.

I wish I were joking but sadly enough that's what they're going for. I think it's about the same on ebay.

To "get" an ANH Leia, which was only available from the original Lego MF, I used a minifig from an older non-SW set that is dressed in a white jump suit, scratched out some of the unwanted decal, took the head from the JP Leia, and bought an ANH bun hairpiece for $3 off ebay. It's not the best looking thing, but it does the job. Until Mos Eisley came out, the only way to get a Han with a jacket was buy the MF as well.

That's why I wish Lego would make more playsets now that most of the vehicles have been done. They end up being cheaper (except for Cloud City) and we'd have a potentially bigger number of minifigs to go with them, like the MEC.

I would never pay that much for a mini fig. Maybe a lot of army builders, but for that price I could buy a few sets.
