The shortest of months and not too much in the way of releases I am interested in.

February 22
The Shield Season 3

Possibly the greatest cop drama ever. Ever.

Hey General, hate to bring this news, but it is going to be an even slower month for you.

Chappelle's Show season 2 was delayed some time back and now has a May 24 release date.

Really? That sucks. I saw a poster in FYE that said it would street on Feb. 8. Oh well. Less money to spend, I guess. I'm looking forward to SP Season 5, anyway. :)

Now I feel dumb. I just realised that you're not in the US Pendo.
I was wondered why you have some movies listed after they are released. I thought maybe you had a DVD budget or something and put some of them off a few weeks or something.

The Shield Season 3

Possibly the greatest cop drama ever. Ever.

I would give that distinction to HBO's The Wire. ;)

Well, tomorrow I'll be all over the Karate Kid Saga as well as Ray,
then next week on the 8th I'll get HBO's Deadwood Season 1 and unfortunately not Chappelle's Show.

When does Saw come out ? I think the 15th, I'll get that for sure, too.

That's all that I "have" to get, but maybe something else will jump into my cart. :Ogre:

21st February
Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow

What's the official release date for Sky Captain? Amazon is showing January 25th and I believe that I saw a commerical yesterday that gave it a January release. Everything up to this point listed it as a February release. I won't be able to make it to the store for about a week to see if it is actually out.

Pendo's list is for the UK. Sky Cap'n came out last Tuesday in the US and for some reason was damn hard to find on widescreen format after 1/25 for me. I had to scour about 6 stores before I finally found one.

Sky Captain's not only out here, but Wal-Mart is selling it with an exclusive free second DVD.

This is going to be a slow month for me as well, with just Ray and The Adventures of Mr Miyagi The Karate Kid Trilogy (with bonus sucky fourth movie) on the list.

Yup, poor ol' England doesn't get Sky Captain for another few weeks . It has been released over in the States.

I would give that distinction to HBO's The Wire. ;)

I don't get to watch HBO often. That's HBO, right? Or is that one on Showtime? Either way, I am not too up on what The Wire offers other than the synopsis offered on various e-tailers' sites. It sounds kind of in the same line as The Shield dealing with the moral issues of crime fighting.

I guess I just keep to F/X for all of my drama needs. The Shield, Nip/Tuck, and Rescue Me (Denis Leary rules) kept me content this last year. Too bad they cannot have longer production runs.

It would take a lot to knock off The Shield as number one for me. Chiklis portraying Vic Mackey had me hooked upon my first viewing. I need more shows where corrupt cops kick the s*** out of the scum of this world.

No doubt, Chiklis is awesome. :)

Yes, The Wire is an HBO offering and a fine one at that. Worth a look if you ever get the chance. :)

By chance you mean money. Those sets are expensive. I was wanting to give Deadwood a view, too. Also, P&T's Bulls***! Sopranos is another series I would like to see in its entire run. I have seen that show many, many times and I loved it, but the sets cost a lot.

It's bad enough with the money I spend just trying to keep up with the few shows I collect on dvd. How much does a good kidney go for these days.

I saw that sticker for the free disc only on the foolscreen versions, not the widescreen ones. I didn't know if they were coming in all of them so I got the version from Best Buy that comes with two mp3 downloads on real.com.

The only movie I'll probably buy this month is The Grudge. I know that you all think the movie sucked but I liked it. So forget you.:p

I think they sold out of the widescreen Sky Captains with the bonus disc rather quickly at a lot of WMs. It's better than Troy, where apparently the free t-shirt was only packed with the foolscreen version (and some WM's charged more for the DVDs packed with the shirt, which sorta defeats the purpose of it being free).

You're right, Slick, The Grudge DID suck. :D

Jaymz, did you ever consider renting these HBO shows ? Around here they are available for rental per disc and after awhile they are on the bargain racks for a buck apiece or so. Just a thought, because I REALLY recommend Deadwood and The Sopranos ! ! ! :)

Finally, shame on me for not mentioning Donie Darko Director's in my list, I'm definitely getting that one, too.

I have given thought to renting them. I would just need to find the motivation to watch them.

I sat through 12 consecutive episodes of The Shield when I bought its second season, but I still have around 30 Outer Limits episodes to get through. Then I purchased that Twilight Zone from the 80's set, and I still have a ways to go with that. Batman and Simpsons and...

I keep buying and I still have yet to sit through all my dvd's. The summer will be open and I'll get around to looking into renting those shows. Hell, I may even check out The Wire because you said it was good.

I don't think there is anything coming out in Feb. that i want to buy. Good time for me to save up for the rest of the Twilight Zone seasons.

Whats up with all these HBO shows? I dont watch a whole lot of them. The only thing I remember seeing in the complete series was Band of Brothers. Are any of these new shows any good??? The only thing I watch any mor is CSI

The only real TV shows I watch are on HBO. I watch some reality fluff just for the laughs but for quality shows, I go to HBO . . . The Sopranos, The Wire, Deadwood, Carnivale, Six Feet Under, Curb Your Enthusiasm, some of my al time favorites.

Now that the NFL is done for the year, I'll be watching very little network/cable TV. :D

I used to watch OZ on HBO. It was a good show. A bit corny at times too.
The DVDs are waaaaaaaay overpriced though.
