hi all! this time i am not talking about cleaning my place out like in the boredom-relief thread. i'm actually needing to be held accountable for making some progress, ok...

i start my chores every day and I make a little progress, but I need to see if I'm actually getting something done. is this a good plan for achieving it? i'm leaning to no, but it's a great way to help me procrastinate. I have plenty of time to accomplish this since it may be almost up to March before I need to be in my office for some full-time days, but I also want my place totally organized and ridden of stuff I won't want to move to my new house. I plan on buying and closing sometime into summer.

thanks for help in advance!

T.

Well I shaved so I'll be clean-cut for a meeting and a presentation I have to make tonight.

While I was doing so, and then washing off, I had started sorting my CDs - soundtracks first.

In fact, I've been playing The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and now A New Hope.

I think I like Attack of the Clones soundtrack the best. It's easily the most listenable to.

I am also sorting my community project files.

I've divided things up to make them easier to find:

1 major file section for each redevelopment area I have projects in that I vote on...

Subsections for large and small projects.... - I'm sorting through the small project file folders to eliminate duplicate information or outdated files.

I also separated the stuff I sit on committees on to sort out later, but to make it more easily accessable for when my boards review something.

Well, I've been to the gym and weight lifted and did 24 minutes on the bike and then some on the cross-trainer.

I ordered my guest bathroom shower re-repaired, I'm still getting more out of the spout than the shower head due to an old valve being cracked.

I made a follow-up call on the grant funding of my community's and university's homecoming parade of which I am on the board of directors.

I made several calls in to our local state, county, and police department officials to have VIPs attend an awards ceremony for our prior Council president who'd retired.

Now I'm going to look into another foundation for a grant for our parade.

You know Tycho, they have things like Blog's and Live Journal for stuff like this.

Just a suggestion, since it's not really a General Discussion.

It's a 'Snapshot of Tycho's Day'. ;p

Yeah, I know, JarJar. But SSG seems to be starting to host blog-threads. There's another one in this forum. Please feel free to tell us every detail about your day, too. ;)

I'm about to listen to The Empire Strikes Back Soundtrack now as I have a light snack (or maybe an early dinner) before I head to my library foundation board meeting in an hour or so. I had been replying to my thread that concerns the military making real-life Terminators in the Rancor Pit.

Touche, Tycho. I just fear the day when you start discussing Dietary Fiber, Prunes, and the Bathroom with people here. Then it's time to call in the folks with the big white jackets with buckles. :D

Well I spent my evening getting nothing done around the house because I wasn't home.

At the library foundation meeting I reported on our fundraising status and what government money we were getting through matching funds. Then I volunteered to get the photos of our construction tour "jpeg'd" so they could be added to our website we're developing and made into the powerpoint presentation we're using at the next local carnival and street fair next month.

Following that I went to my next community council meeting and reported on the same, as well as enlisted golfers in our annual golf-tournament we use to fund Park and Recreation programs for kids in such manner as to buy sports team uniforms, equipment, arts & craft supplies, pay for guest speakers / educators to augment our programs, and plant trees and dedicated park benches and improve handicap facilities.

I had to come home fast following my meetings because my girlfriend was waiting on me for over a half hour to watch Gettysburg since she had to read The Killer Angels for a class. It's hard enough to get her to watch war movies with me, and at least this one she had an excuse to watch it with me. We only got through Part One and the Battle of Little Round Top with Col. Chamberlain's Charge (my favorite part anyway). Tomorrow or over the weekend we might see Part Two and Pickett's Charge and Lee's Defeat at the hands of General Meade. The soundtrack is still playing in my head so much that I might go put the CD on...

Meanwhile, I start tomorrow with a Parade Director's Board meeting at 7:30 in the morning so I have to get to sleep soon, but I must print out the Grant Applications forms for a new grant I found that's due in by March 11th (I think) so that those who are contributing reports for the effort can have some time to get organized (well 3 weeks about) before we apply for the money, as we should come up with $16,000 to meet our current fund-rasing goal.

Right now I have occasion to spend some time responding to Stillakid in our all-important discussion about Terminators and the US Military (Rancor Pit).

Then it's report time and finally bed time. I hope to get at least 6 hours sleep tonight.

By the way, I like how my thread was moved to the "other section" out of general discussion, while another notorious "blog" remains there as it's so highly relevant. Typical. The new editing challenge is for some folks to find the thread where I already discussed and predicted this would happen.

If anyone other than Tycho gave this five stars then you should really evalute your life.:D

Well I feel like I've really been wasting time today. I just spent the last few minutes editing my Darth Tater Theme Song for my signature for a little while.

Let's see. I had my first meeting at 7:30 in the morning and that went well - other than the fact that after I prove myself effective at fundraising and that sort of thing, I always get caught volunteering to write the next grant and so on. It's ok. I saw that one coming.

I then had a meeting with my doctor who I asked to contribute to our Library Foundation fund and that endeavor went very well.

I solicited more folks to enter our golf tournament for charity event.

And somewhere in there I went shopping for 2 new breakfast cereals I describe in more detail in my cereal-eaters connesseur thread.

I took a nap since I was up so darn early for several of my meetings this morning and then made lunch.

In the process of getting my mail, I ran into the guy who'd fixed my shower the other day, the Star Wars fan, and ran it by him that I think Dooku should be Anakin's father and that Han Solo should be a Clone Trooper. These aren't spoilers, because now they seem doubtful that they can ever turn out to be true, but this guy can fix plumbing and he thinks I have great Star Wars ideas too. He's working near my place today and he wants to come over this evening when me and my girlfriend are chilling so I can show him several Star Wars websites where he can get the spoiler information I like to read and see some pictures from Episode 3 that I have received privately from friends of mine (those pics ARE spoilers indeed). Anyway, my girl wants to watch the end of Gettysburg and she's not so keen on that anyway (but it's for school, remember?) so I'm not sure how she'll also deal with me going all-Star Wars tonight. To be honest, I really would like to make another SW friend (all of you like to do that too or you wouldn't be meeting and trading all the time) but Friday night is not really my time for that sort of thing - afterall the last season of Star Trek is on and it's a new episode about how the Klingons came to look stupid during the 23rd Century or something tonight. All good nerds will be watching it....

Meanwhile, I guess I should get my butt to the gym. Earlier today this girl showed me how to do some new abdominal exercises and man did she have a sizzling hot flat stomach! I'd just been checking out the SI Swimsuit issue that's now on stands when I'd been at the grocery store buying my breakfast cereals, and fitness, women, attractions - the themes just kind of all fit together and set in. Anyway, I won't have to worry about a workout partner. I just better get going soon.

Oh - I made a bigger mess in my house today since today's and yesterday's newspaper, mail, and new paperwork and minutes from my meetings tended to just get set down wherever I was when I walked in and the phone was ringing. I had another mortgage close and my broker just called me and told me I'd made a lot of money, and when I'd learned that, sorting my paperwork was not exactly the first thing that came to mind. I actually have some extra cash that's more than I planned to spend on the toys this year, or my Celebration 3 trip, so I'd been thinking about changing my flight out of Indianapolis and heading to Washington, D.C. while I'm closer (I get bored on long flights faster than I usually get bored anyway), and then I can take care of some lobbying (as well as tourist opportunities) in D.C. on my way back from the Star Wars convention. Just need to bring a suit in addition to my "Got Mouse?" T-shirts I want to have made for the Celebration.

Oh yeah - I've been busy and haven't had a chance to fill out the paperwork describing the Mouse Droid Sniffing Symposium I wanted to hold at C3 for Lucasfilm. They don't know that some of us inhale thier licensed toys the way folks at Hasbro are aware of it. Hope that doesn't get the guys in Rhode Island in trouble - but we can smell the crap they put out over here on the other coast (on lucky mornings we actually find stuff at Target...)

Oh -that's right. No Aurra Sing wave. I did go hunting very briefly after my meeting. My Wal-Mart has new Unleashed - but tons of Aayla, Tusken, and Bossk. I'm afraid they'll sit since they are not main-line or even really E3 characters (save for Aayla). But Dooku and Mace should sell out at TRU and other stores flooded with them - since they'll be regarded almost as E3 toys by those who are new and don't know any better. Besides, if You bougth Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Grievous, wouldn't you want Mace and Dooku if you didn't already have them?

Well I've wasted a lot of time right now and even kicked my computer desk so that a Royal Guard, SaeSee, and Mace fell over. Maybe I'll straighten them up.

Oh yeah - I've been posting a lot about the snot that comes out of my nose and doing other stuff like talking about the toys to waste time. Do you have any idea how hard it is to do that now - considering how fast I can type? I'm like 100 words per minute! Well I guess you can believe that. Anyway, I think I want to go see how fast I can get to the gym and my workout today. I'm strongly motivated to go that direction right now :D

Just a quick question for you..

In these board meetings you attend.. the ones with VIPS n such.. you give the presentations no?

ever take a minute while standing up there in front of everyone.. to slip the mouse droid from your jacket.. sniff it.. take it in.. deep breath.. slip it back in your jacket.. then continue with your presentation.. like nothing happened.. ?

curious..

will you be attending the CIII SSG party? I see no mention of your name in that thread.. what gives?

No, but I'll try that. The endless questions and answers with any project....it might help pass a challenging moment.

I didn't know about the thread. My girlfriend and I just went away for a night and 2 days at a resort and casino for some fun at a new night club that just opened up. I haven't been online for probably close to 48 hours. So maybe I haven't seen a new thread. But then I don't wander into the conventions forum too often. I'll take a look.

I'd been trying to see who'd be interested in a Mouse Droid Sniffing symposium with guests from Hasbro in there.

Speaking of which, while I'm all set to go to Celebration 3 (tickets, hotel, money, etc.) I may have to completely cancel my trip. Some opportunities that are very important to my career have come up and there may be conflicts with my travel plans in April. I'm already seeing if I can adjust my flights so that I can go from Indianapolis to Washington DC after the convention - but I have to wait to see if I'll be needed back here. It's a little frustrating right now - but if I have to stay, the sacrafice will be worth it as my opportunity's unimaginable.
