WM near me had a display with $3.98 movies, mostly widescreen (!!!), mostly very recent. Among others, I saw Nacho Libre, Elizabethtown, and both Tomb Raiders.

My WM had this display as well. Picked up World Trade Center 2 disc and Catch Me If You Can 2 disc a while back.

Some Walmarts supposedly had limited quantities of the World Trade Center 3 disc set, which is OOP. I looked through all of the copies at my WM but there were none to be found.

One of the local Super WM's had Sopranos 6th Season Part I for the "rollback" price of $29.99 today. Regular price is $49.99. I was going to pick it up for my brother but I wasn't sure if he has it already.

I did buy Carnivale Season 1 at Sam's Club for $16.58 plus tax today. Every prophet in his house!

I saw "Gremlins" on the $7 DVD rack when I was at Wal-Mart last. Think I should go for it?

I've been reading where some, if not all, Walmarts will eventually be removing their DVD Drop Bins... linky (http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=528082&page=1&pp=25)

I would say ok as the movies hae been lacking lately. I will miss the occasional great find in there though. Stupid move IMO oerall.

The majority of the DVDs I buy at WM are from the dump bin, so I will miss the bin if it does disappear.

SW figures, DVDs and over the counter meds are the only things I buy at WM.

I bought Spaceballs and Daredevil from the dump bin the other day.

They haven't had the bin at the two Wal-Marts that are closest to me for quite some time, instead they put all of the bin DVDs on a 6' tall 4-sided black book/media shelf. It looks odd at first, but it's much better than the cumbersome bin, plus all the movies are standing up so you can just look over all the spines instead of digging. Maybe they're just going to do that at all stores?

they had those racks at the 2 WM's here for awhile LT. When I started the thread it was bins, but not long after they became racks.

I've got two local Wal-Marts. One has the rack, one has the bin. Both suck when looking for something in particular.

The WM in my town still has the Bin, but the last time I was there it was damn near empty.

I haven't purchased a movie out of the bin in forever. Mainly because I have transitioned to the HD, Blu-ray and HD DVD (prior to its death), formats but also because it is difficult to look through there and most of what they have I either already own, I don't want it, it is junk or it is a fool screen movie. Not to mention most of the people digging through the bins are rude as hell so I am not there very long.

Not to mention they have mullets and usually smell like corndogs.

I KEED, I KEED! I joke with you! ;)

A couple of WMs in my area wised up and stacked the movies in bookcases. You do a little dance with people and slowly revolve around the cases while you're reading the titles.

Do a little dance, make a little love, and get down tonight?

Picked up a couple of interesting titles right before Father's Day.

Sink the Bismarck (old B&W) for $7.50
Wing and a Prayer (another old B&W) for $4.88
Crash Dive (Tyrone Power) for $4.88
100 Rifles (Jim Brown and Raquel Welch, gggrrrrr) for $4.88

War/action/western movies + Father's Day = good buys.

I also got Halls of Montezuma (Richard Widmark) for my birthday.

I've noticed the Rocky movies and some John Wayne titles in the bins, too.

I will probably end up getting the copy of GETTSYBURG for 6 bucks my store is carrying at the moment for the "American Summer" setup we have going. Not in the dump bin mind you, but this mod we have going has some decent stuff on it.
