Anybody catching this season? I must say that it's much better since they didn't bring the same people back again.

Yeah I'm really enjoying this season too. So far I like it better than the last 2 years but the first season is still my favorite.

I like the idea of having a new cast for the most part too, some of the series regulars were getting pretty annoying, namely Kim, Chase and Sherri Palmer. Getting Tony back has been nice though, I always liked him. I just wish Michelle would return but that seems pretty unlikely. I'm sure we'll see Chloe again before season's end but other than her I'd be surprised if we had any other old cast members show up.

This series is still my favorite television show with Lost taking a close second.

I like 24, there is something about the whole "if things slow down for a second have somebody walk in with a gun" school of story-making that will always appeal to me. I think this season's dastardly plot might scare people into making our nuclear facilities more secure as well.

Is it just me or have they changed the style of the storytelling? IIRC, in past years it slowed down somewhat for a few episodes. This year, in places it might've slowed down (like Barus' girlfriend coming over, then the mother) it takes a different approach. The adrenaline feels highers.

Yeah, I think this one's really fast paced. Of course it's easier when there's no Kim involved :D (1st season excepted).

I'm surprised that there haven't been more "regulars" show up, but most of them have been whacked. However, it is nice that the writers get that for this format to work, once a character has outlasted their usefulness there's no reason for them to show up again. Palmer was a good example, because his plot line had zero bearing on the crux of the show other than being a weak red herring to make us think something else may be going on.

I'd like to see Michelle back cause her character was good and she's really easy on the eyes. There's a season 4 prequel on the 3rd season DVD with her in it I think that I'd like to watch. Anyone seen it?

I've read in EW that Chloe will definitely show up again later this season. I'd also like that she-assassin from season 1 and the end of S2 to show up again and do her thang. She was pretty interesting.

Again, another great season. No Kim, Michelle returns, and the Mummy as the main bad guy. What else could you want? :D

Last weeks one was preety good ( I wont spoil it for all who havent seen it), but i thought last season was a little better.

Anyone heard the rumor that the actor who played pres. Palmer last season will make a cameo in this seasons episodes?

This is the best season yet, definitely non-stop and more exciting than the Victor Drazen thing in season 1 or the bio-threat. I'm glad they worked Tony and Michelle back in. I'm starting to like Edgar more & more as a character. My wife's into LOST bigtime, but if they don't start providing some answers soon to the myriad questions...

I love 24! Been watching the new series and loving it so far. I'm quite cautious about reading other people's posts though, because it's a few episodes ahead in America and I don't want to read anything that will spoil it for me :).

I've got to say this was one of the most satisfying season finales I've seen in some time.

For those that have been following the series from the begining how nice was it to finally see the assassin that tried to kill President Palmer resurface? I had all but given up on that loose end being tied up and my my Mia Kershner is such a hottie. She is easily the coolest and most ruthless female villain I've seen in some time, I even like her better than Nina. Hopefully she'll be back next season seeing as how she was granted a Presidential pardon for giving up Marwan.

I was glad Tony and Michelle survived, I was thinking Tony wasn't going to make it for a while there. And who would have thought that Jack would go rogue after a Secret Service agent attempts to kill him for the incident at the Chinese Consulate? Its a good thing he has friends like Tony and Michelle to help him fake his death and seeing as how they're leaving CTU too it should make for an interesting and very different season 5. To bad we have to wait until January. :(

Overall, no Kim + no Chase + multiple tie-ins with previous seasons + Jack going rogue = the best season since the first IMHO.

Agreed. A terrific ending to a great season. The best since season one, IMO. I was thinking before the finale started that Jack would get captured by the Chinese and the next season would be him escaping.

Michelle and Tony worked out well and Chloe was her own biatchy self. Edgar was a good everyman hero. I liked Bill Buchanan and replacing the woman chief (Erin Driscoll?) with him upped the show's ante in my eyes. Arnold Vosloo was a great villian--even better than Dennis Hopper--and he had a bunch of good cronies. What happened to the stealth plane pilot? Did they shoot him down?

The highlight for me was Assassin Girl. She's kind of the Boba Fett of 24. Her season 1 role was cool, it was nice seeing her in season 2 even though it didn't go anywhere, and having her back made the ending really good. I'm glad the door's open for her return.

It's going to be interesting to see how #5 starts without Jack anywhere in sight.

Of course, he probably has a homing beacon implanted somewhere on his body and the government knows where he'll be the entire time. lol That happened between seasons, ya'know.

Why not? Jack was unconscious for a bit and was alone with Tony and Michelle. He could even have one of those scrambled cell phones they used in the finale so someone could get ahold of him.

So does that mean Keifer Sutherland will start doing Allstate commercials with Haysbert? :D

I think he got away because I don't remember it ever being explained. Once Air Force One was shot down the focus shifted to that leaving his fate unresolved. Maybe it will come into play somewhere down the road, especially when you consider he expressed concern several times about his "out" since he would never be able to show his face again.

What could be next for Jack? Hes done most everything...who knows-maybe terrorists plant a bomb on the moon or something like that:D

I think that, in a nutshell, is why the show took the turn it did with Jack's departure from CTU.

The possibilities are endless if he remains a rogue agent hiding under the assumption that he was killed. If the government eventually finds out he is alive we could see something similar to The Bourne Identity/Supremacy storylines with Jack on the run or Jack could stay underground and try to expose the current administrations corruption in yet another attempt at saving the Country. There really are so many different ways the show can go from hear and I think as long as things just don't go back to normal overnight the show will maintain its energy.

Haysbert will always be Cerrano from the Major League movies to me. :D

What was that line...F U Jabu?
:D

I missed the episode after the AF1 attack (I've always missed one episode in each of the seasons) and don't know what happened to the pilot, but I figure he did get away. He could come back in season 5 like Assassin Girl has done.

No the pilot of the stealth, Mitch Anderson if memory serves, died. There was a PunchYourselfInBothEarsSimultaneouslyAndYouMissIt moment at the CTU headquarters when someone said that one of the escorting fighter planes sighted, engaged and shot down the stealth. Seriously, I remember it. Although I grant you some people swear they remember the royal guards electrocuting Jerrjerrod with their staffs in ROTJ.

I haven't seen the finale yet - its next weeks episode in the UK and Ireland - but do they explain what became of Berooz (sp?)?
