The best Beard that i have ever seen wasnt even a beard. One of my Rugby refs had this really thick beard, except for a two inch span running down from his lower lip like a divider. They were the most massive mutton chops i have ever seen and looked awesome!

I would also like to take a moment of silence for Eunics, who cant grow beards like most of the rest of us.- :beard:

I gotta go with Slick's nomination. It looks like Scott takes more pride in his whiskers, what with the lovely dye job. Jim "the Anvil" just scares people into liking his chin warmer. Don't believe the hype!

I'll dig this up then honor myself.

It's tough for me to grow a beard seeing as I have to shave on a daily basis but the weekend offers a welcome respite from it. It's nothing spectacular but it's the best I could do in a couple of days.

here's a little pic i found of my biker-stache from a couple of years ago... i bring it back every now-and-again... my friend also always has a kickin' van dyke goin on.

here, we are demonstrating our "paper towel roll faces" - a game we invented while VERY bored one day, wherein you look at someone, and then look at them through a paper towel roll. during the transition process from natural sight to paper towel roll sight, the one being looked at must quickly make a strange face. the effect is quite comedic.

i guess you had to be there.

Me as I look at this moment. I wake up looking like this every morning, well since I have decided to let my hair grow out for "Locks of Love". I usually just stick a hat over the mess a top my head, except on Monday and Tuesday evenings when I work at the Y. I can't wear a hat there, so I wash and comb it back. I'm 16 and I want a damn beard! As it stands right now, I only shave about once a week, and what I can grow isn't much anyway.

I've also been told I look homeless (or at least poor). I have long hair (about like Anakin's in ROTS) and it's about as messy as his, and I don't like to dress fancy. That's a real confidence-booster. :D

LOL - "Shave my beer..." - 'Which brand do you use on your face?"

I was using voice-to-text from my phone. Funny. It usually mangles stuff really badly or not at all.

This time? Beard was replaced with beer.

Answer: just use more Samuel Adams or NewCastle.

Meanwhile, I'm on day 4 of growing it back. Just blonde stubble right now. I think it takes me 15 days to grow a beard - and a little more for it to look good.

The Padres' FanFest is in 4 more days and my writers' conference interviews in 11. For pictures and interviews, I may have to shave it all off but I'll see how it looks on Friday.

By the time of my writers' conference, it should be fine.

Chux, I really like General Sherman and his waging of "Total War!" I always envision General Veers as his Star Wars equivalent and imagine what General Sherman could have done if the Union had AT-ATs! Then Sherman vs. Napoleon - and after that - on to confront the Ewoks! For a historian, I can sometimes get confused and blur the lines of reality. But the Germans and the Big Bertha cannons versus Sherman and the walkers! That would be awesome. And imagine if Anakin Skywalker was serving with Sherman in Europe - and they sent in Indiana Jones with a platoon mounted on tauntauns. And then Lando Calrissian led black people flying in P-51s! But the fighter jets had harpoon cannons on them and Cuba Gooding, Jr. was Wedge's tailgunner but he weighed a lot in the plane because he was wearing his Navy Diver uniform and Robert DeNiro's ghost was appearing and he could hear him saying, "A Navy Diver uses the Force!"

Then the Gungans took over a bunch of AAT tanks and started fighting for the Germans, but the Polocks charged them driving Steve McQueen cars and the Germans bombed them from Zepplins while the band Led Zepplin broadcast music out of them - but singing in German.

Then pink elephants began charging the battle field after breaking through the Great Wall of China - and riding Dumbo in the lead was Hannibal, with Faceman, B.A. Baracus, and Murdock (his elephant with wings) charging right behind him.

Then suddenly, Goose, IceMan, Cougar, Merlin, and Maverick dive in from the air in F-14 Tomcats and they drop girls like Meg Ryan out of their airplanes.

And wow! Meg Ryan has a Star Wars action figure collection, but it starts scattering all over the battlefield because she fell from the height of Tom Cruise's fighter plane pass.

Suddenly, all combat ceases and everyone climbs out of the trenches and helps collect Star Wars figures. JarJar Binks finds a vinyl caped Jawa MOMC and tries to secure the Kaiser's help posting it on eBay but Adolf Hitler arrives and won't let him because the Germans must have the vinyl caped Jawa.

That does it, and Indiana Jones, Winston Churchill, Woodrow Wilson, and Oprah Winfrey take control and order the A-Team to attack Adolf Hitler.

Hitler hires Cobra Commander and Destro and charges them with defending the Vinyl Caped Jawa. But Zartan has secretly disguised himself as JarJar Binks, and fooled Indiana Jones into allowing him to take the Vinyl Caped Jawa to Joseph Stalin in hopes the Russians can broker peace. But an Ugnaught Army has taken over Russia and used cloning technology to create dinosaurs on which to ride into battle.

And the war goes on!

Beard is gone. Less money going down the drain on hair care products now.

Hair care products?

I use a side-burn / facial hair clipper that I already had to keep my beard neat and very flat and close to the face.

To wash, before I shower, I pour rubbing alcohol through my beard, then shampoo it.

What other care products do you need? Or was your beard really long and thick?

I find it to be the other way, I keep mine short but that means I'm not shaving as often/as much so I go through blades less often.

I went on a vacation, independent of any family members for the first time ever (just me and my girl). I decided to "forget the razor" and am currently on Day 12 of limited shaving.

A beard is always something that I wanted to have, probably for over 1/2 my life I have thought about growing one but never had the courage to do so. I come from a family of clean shaven individuals and I do remember an incident back about 15 years ago when my older brother started to grow one, and was tormented by relatives every time he made contact with them. But with beards more in style now, and the fact that I could grow one discreetly for 9 days, I took advantage of it.

Just waiting for my skin underneath to completely disappear before I am satisfied with its length. A big hurdle will be returning to work with it and to family functions. But I am ready and willing.

Thanks to everyone who posted in this thread. You guys are my beardspirations.
May the :beard: be with everyone!
