Was there any news on this at toy fair? Also, what about the deluxe Vader with operating table?

doesn't sound too promising. I mean they are releasing the chopper droid/vader medical droid so is it is a set with a medical droid sounds like a repack and the vader will probably be a repack of either the vintage vader or the ep III vader.

I was sort of hoping for a meditation chamber vader or maybe a two pack ep III vader and concept vader or even an ep III vader and a rotj spirit anakin ala hayden version. :D :D

The Operating Table Vader is a deluxe, apparently. He's not the 500th figure. As far as I know, it will still be Darth Vader in his meditation chamber from ESB. Even though there will 512 figures by April 2.

No offense to you guys, but I think we already have had too many special figure Vaders announced in recent years to seriously warrant a special 500th figure one as well.

So far we've got (or will soon have) these Special Vaders:
Vac-Metal Silver Darth Vader (Toy Fair 2002)
Painted Silver Darth Vader (Toys R' Us 2004)
Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader Flipping Two Pack (Toy Fair 2005)
Lava Darth Vader (Target 2005)
Darth Vader w/ James Earl Jones recorded speech base (Celebration III 2005)

I was kind of hoping that the operating table would come with a BBQ'd anakin... not sure if Hasbro would make that figure or not, due to the violent content. I think my Ep III collection will be incomplete without one though!

The Meditation Chamber version would end up being almost like a small playset... don't you think? There will have to be some sort of armature to connect to the upper half so it can be raised and lowered. That would be kinda cool.

I never thought Hasbro to back down from oversaturation before. Just look at Commtech Han or how many Jangos we had in AOTC.

But as Dindae stated above Hasbro has no problem with over saturation or rehashing.

I think that Hasbro should release the figure as a concept version of Vader like the McQuarrie paintings. This way it would be a great tie in to launch a concept action figure line. I mean we already got the concept stormie which was Bad *** why not continue the line and include the characters how they were originally envisoned, I mean come on who wouldn't want the bearded lightsaber toting Han Solo, or the very femine version of luke Skywalker ????
Hasbro get on the ball.

If the concept idea is out give us a more articulated version of removable helmet/ Jedi Final Duel Vader..... maybe incorporate the VOTC body with the new DVD version of Anakin/Vader. Make it a two pack or fans can finally have the spirit of hayden version of Anakin and look, deluxe 500th Vader. Hasbro could even make a chase variation of this by short packing an older version with the Sebastion Shaw version of the Vader/Anakin combo as well for all you collectors out there. :)

I still think it's the meditation chamber, fro ESB, not the medical table from ROTS. Anyway I'm glad to know it's on its way. Even though it should come out at the same time as #499, Obi-Wan (Jedi Kick) but that's not going to happen.

I really hope that this comes with a lid/top to close the chamber. $19.99 is not cheap and it seems that after Hasbro charged $ 13.00+ for the VOTC figures it would be just like them to add another $6.00 to a vintage figure with half of a chamber. Come on Hasbro, make the right decision and give us the full chamber!!!

I'm pretty sure it is from the early bird figs. I think the POTF Han Carbonite was #100, Mara Jade? was #200, Boba Fett was #300, Coleman Trebor? was #400 and now Vader is 500. Obviously the one's with ? I'm not sure on.

Are they counting delux, vehicle pack ins, and 12", or just regular line 3 3/4? And what about mail ins spirit obi, han storm, oola, kabe&muftak, etc.

Slicker
04-08-2005, 02:25 AM
I'm pretty sure everything is counted except for the 12" figures. They go by there own system which, by now, has to be up near 200 because the 100th was the all in one Luke that could be changed into just about all of his outfits from ANH.

Already, it looks like the claw that raises the dome of the helmet is not movie accurate. Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the claw only have two sides...like a real claw!? What is this piece going through the middle of the dome? I don't remember that!

Besides the claw, I like this figure. I will be getting one, possibly two so I can open one.

Slicker. I know this. What Im saying is. I stared at the picture. Typed up the list from the back of the box. And Han was number 89. I got Mara Jade at 198 and Boba Fett at 298. So I think I missed 2 of them in the middle somewhere. Very hard to read. But Im quite sure I counted Han Solo at 89.

Maybe Hasbro is just calling the figure "500th Vader"...like we already have 499 "different" Darth Vader figures.

Or maybe Darth Vader (Meditation Chamber) sounded too serene. Perhaps Darth Vader with Hat Removing Action! would be more appropriate.

I didnt mean to be over analyzing, I just figured that this is a golden opportunity to make sort of an ultimate checklist. I collect figures, but I dont really collect too much of the other stuff. So I was thinking that Id like to try to put together one complete checklist of all of the Basic figures that have been released so that I could have an ongoing list to work on year in and year out. So I was hoping some of you could help with the 300-500 part of the list and also, someone might double check me and see if I messed up on that first part.

I understand about the ultimate checklist. But we need to know what is included in this, deluxe, pack-ins, cinema scenes, screen scenes and such. Without knowing what and how Hasbro counted, we cant do that.

From what I hear its just basic single packaged no frills toys. Somewhere in this thread it says that Wat Tambor is number 400. I m curious if they count the OTC or not.

#400 was Coleman Trebor from the Saga line.

I dont think they count the repacks for this Vader would be #2000 after all the Cantina Han repacks.

I guess I ll look through the Saga threads and see what I can figure out.

Yeah, I'd like a comprehensive list of ONLY 3 1/4 inch figures and the stuff made for them (vehicles, playesters, accesories, ect) . WITH pics so I can gawk over what I missed (like that cool Maul Sith Training Deluxe fig), and maybe eventually get.

I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere in this thread but why is HASBRO not making a top to the meditation chamber? That would make this figure awesome being able to close Vader up inside. Please HASBRO, if you are reading this, give us our TOP half too.

That's what I thought. Pinch-a-loaf Vader.

It can go along with this version of Anakin:

Whew... Anakin must've spotted Dannl Faytonni leaving Padme's apartment on Coruscant. Either that or he had a high-fiber breakfast.

I'm surprised Hasbro didn't just re-use the meditation chamber from the vintage Star Destroyer playset. It had both the top and bottom sections.

Leave it up to HASBRO to screw up a perfectly good idea.
