Secrets of "Star Wars"

Get ready for behind-the-scenes dirt on "Star Wars."

Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the sci-fi blockbuster series, is writing a tell-all about what really went on during the shooting of the films.

Although Fisher was cautioned by her agent not to discuss the forthcoming book, she spilled the beans while promoting her latest book, “The Best Awful” to the U.K. press.

“When I was in Star Wars, I kept diaries. Big books full of what went on, what I thought, what I did. I am going to write them all up as a narrative,” Fisher told London’s Sunday Telegraph.

Any shocking revelations? “It will be riveting,” Fisher promised.
I'd read about her coked out ramblings on Bespin.

I doubt she will drag Lucas or the rest of the crew through the mud. My impression is that of all of the projects Fisher worked on during her time in Hollywood Star Wars was one of her best experiences. Both Lucas and Spielberg are often praised by their former employees as being pretty good bosses to have. I think Fisher (and most of the Star Wars cast) still have a good relationship with Lucas even today.

Alec Guinness was probably one of the few that had a cool attitude toward Star Wars. Aside from being upset about how Star Wars had grown into this cultural phenomenom, I've read in the SW Insider that he was irked that Lucas decided at the last minute to kill his character off in the first film. There was some speculation on the set of Empire whether or not he would show up to do his scenes. But he did, shooting everything in six hours.

I can't wait for this, Carrie Fisher is a good writer and a great personality, and there haven't been a lot of human stories of the Behind-the-Scenes side of Star Wars. I wonder if she'll let Lucas water it down though, I can see that happeneing.

Right on JT. As far as I've ever heard, Carrie Fisher has had -and still has a good relationship with George Lucas. Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill also known to have a good history. Nobody has ever written about making Star Wars before and I think it sounds exciting! Alec Guiness wrote about it briefly in his autobiography -but only saying that he never cared for it. I'm sure Carrie wont drag George, Harrison or Mark through the mud. I cant wait to read it (it'lll be great if she does a book tour).

Carrie Fisher is a good writer (see her book "Postcards From The Edge"), so I don't look for a trashy tabloid-style, tell-all book. I agree with everyone on that point.

I also think that most of what went on the set was tame, a lot less salacious than let's say, backstage at a KISS concert. Still there will be some strong opinions and a few juicy stories mentioned, enough to satiate the appetite of those who are looking for bits of gossip and innuendo.

What is most important is that it looks like we get a history of behind the scenes of the production of Star Wars, from someone who should know, the lead actress on the set. I shall look forward to reading it.

100% agreement here! I look forward to this book! :D
