Thanks for the head up Lazer Brain.
A 6" diecast line ?!? Very interesting, it's the size of the Action Fleet vehicles. It could be an amazing line of vehicles and starships.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE TRUE!!!!
I find it a bit weird though cause die cast has to be dearer to produce that plastic
Also was the email text? If so can you post it here? Or if it was a link post the link up? Any any further info you have.
dead set if this is more Hasbro BS im gonna be annoyed

hI D7,
Here is the link : http://www.hasbro.com/survey/starwarstitanium.htm
"The Star Wars Titanium Series is a new line Star Wars die-cast vehicles:
Star Wars Titanium Series die-cast metal vehicles feature intricate micro-detailing, surprising action features (like opening canopies and working landing gear) and display stands. The line includes 3 inch vehicles ($4.99) and 6 inch vehicles (1:24 scale) ($19.99)"

Thanks a lot sicqnus!
I blasted them about cancelling AF...hehe...i hope everyone here does the survey and puts there backing behind TS.
And also i noted they asked about a new series of figures. Sounds like Hasbro MIGHT (and i stress might...lol) be finally getting its act together in relation to SW micros :D

Thanks Laser Brain and Sicqnus for the info about the survey. Some of my responses:
How many items in your collection?
Approx. 448
What do you like about titaniums..?
It's the only current offering that in any way continues the Galoosbro MicroMachine / Action Fleet product lines. I would prefer to see the plastic Action Fleet line resumed with a returned focus on mini figures and playability features.
What do you dislike about titaniums..?
#1 = Uneven retail distribution. PLEASE work with retailers to keep ALL SHIPS from ALL WAVES well-stocked at all locations of the stores. Nothing kills the enthusiasm of collecting more than frustrating issues with no stock / understock - especially on the waves that include the most popular vehicles. Also, maybe limit purchases to two per person per visit to dissuade scalpers from buying out "hot" ships from selected waves the second they hit the pegs. #2 = Replicas of many pre-episode three vehicles are re-hashes of past die-cast and x-ray fleet sculpts. Good, but not different enough to make me feel good about spending $ to get a mint-in-pkg. + an opener of each new release.
Rate importance of following categories to a total 100 percent
25 Sculpting detail
20 Deco
25 Resemblance to actual vehicle or character
License or brand
15 Moving pieces/articulation
Rarity
Packaging
15 Price/Value
Other
100 Total
Please offer all items sold through retailers (even exclusives) available for MSRP + S&H purchase vie your website. Local Wal-Marts are WORTHLESS for Hasbro Star Wars vehicles - State College, PA. Has been that way since the 1990s when the line was still owned by Galoob.

$20 AF? Err...that's pretty expensive. I mean die-cast AF would be cool and all, but that's pretty harsh pricing.

Hey, what other licenses or brand produc you collect?
-any toy spaceship sized like a galoob micromachine :)
So, what you like abou StarWar ****eries?
-the line's the closest thing any major american toy company has come to offering micromachine spaceships since hasbro bought galoob & killed that format :\
And, what you dislike abou StarWar ****eries?
-they're metal, which both adds needlessly to the price (1 ship for ~$5-7, versus 3 mm ships for the same price) and prevents manufacturer from depicting the same degree of detailing as was possible with the plastic mm format. also, the initial waves comprising a mixture of all-new with prev-offered ships ensures that while the former will be high-demand the latter will likely sit unsold for too long, thus confirming doubts on the part of skeptics at hasbro that formats like this are not viable :(

I got very excited when I started reading this survey, and when I got to the part about the 6" vehicles I came straight here to post it, but alas, I have been scooped. Anyway. This could very well be a great line, if i turns out to be a die cast AF line I would be speechless. The only ship I am actively hoping for is the AOTC JSF, I'm still angry about that one, just can't seem to get over it. For now, just trying not to get my hopes too high and looking forward to some pictures.

I think everyone will agree with that...
and its good to see pretty much everyone here that has done the survey has bagged Hasbro for stuffing up mm and af :)

wondering what, if anything, will come from giving them my address, etc.?
if anyone gets a coupon, promotional item, or other complementary gift from Hasbro as a result of the personal info given in the survey, please post here.

Q - What, if anything, do you like about the Star War Titanium Series?
A - It is a small scale SW vehicle line. Since the end of the MicroMachines, Action Fleet and Die-cast SW lines this segment of the SW collectible world is not covered, and it looks like a potential big market, imho.
Q - What, if anything, do you dislike about the Star Wars Titanium Series?
A - It is an exclusive line. This makes the items difficult to buy (especially for collectors outside the USA), and the secondary market gets the extra income.
May the Force be with us. :)

Has anyone, before this survey heard about a 6" titanium line? And why weren't they released with the rest of ROTS items. In the survey they act like these are already shipped, and in stores.?.? This was the first I heard of them. Although, I am very happy to hear about them and the possible return of a Kenner type of micro collection.

I think there just trying to get a feel if a 6" product will work, i think it will ,they just need to be carful on the price point or only the cool ones will sell and the rest will just sit there. i'm just glad to see a MM out there again.

I agree, the first couple of questions dealt with getting a feel for the line, then the next were a new product, so I think its a go, hopefully by years end.

I don't know, $20 for just a 6 inch die-cast ship, seems steep. I mean the 3 inch line is only 5 bucks. Even if they included mini-figures, thats a pretty high price.
If this line is just the ships, like how Hasbro did the AF. I don't see this line lasting much longer then the AF did. If they include figures, with collectors and kids getting them, I think it would last awhile.

I posted this in the SSG news, and took the survey. I hope this means Hasbro is finally catching on to what the rest of us know, we'll see. If this 1:24th scale line turns out to be true, it'd be really neat so long as they actually do it right.

Does anyone think that this line of questioning is tied in with the recent onslaught of diecast "high end" collectibles and the prop replicas? Could it be that they have found that they missed a niche in collecting? Perhaps good, sturdy, presentable vehicles that are also inexpenssive?
I filled out the info...hopefully I'll get picked. However, my diecast is limited to fire department vehicles from code 3 for the Chicago Fire department.

I am sure that's why they're doing it, Hasbro is always late to the party with this sort of thing, that's why they missed the boat with the Micro Machines rerelease, I just hope they are able to play catch-up before the Titaniums situation does the whole deal in.

I anwsered the questions in this survey yesterday through an email. I think the idea of doing a 1:24th scale line sounds interesting but affordability, availability and an emphasis on detail are my main concerns.

something i noticed: in comparing the wording of the quextions i was axed (above) with those y'all were, i wonder if i answered some kinda made-in-asia knockoff survey ;)
swaf: "what, if anything, will come from giving them my address"
-you gave em yer address? i didn't, cuz at present they don't got much they could offer me anyway :p as far as what they might want from me, the only appropriate thing (besides my purchase $$) is my endless-fount insights into what they should do. to get that they can always use via the email address i did give em :)

NO DIE CAST, PLEASE!!!! Plastic is the way to go with figures!!!! The Micro Series Kenner released in 1982 got cancelled so quickly because children didn't like the fact that these figures were made of DIE-CAST instead of durable plastic. Galoob's Micro Machines figures are awesome. I hope Hasbro decided to use their scale and material because we already have so many of them in those scale and new ones would therefore fit together with the old ones.
That being said, I own a couple of Micro Collection toys:
Bespin (all three parts)
Millenium Falcon
Wampa Cave
However, I prefer Micro Machines over them any day because those are playable.
HERE'S A GOOD IDEA FOR HASBRO: TWO LINES
MICRO MACHINES:
Continue one of the most successful lines of the late eightees and the whole ninetees. SW Micros for the whole PT as well as new OT Micros for buyers new to this line. Offer main character packs for each movie, army building packs, platform and vehicle playsets, Inside Action Heads, one or two carrying cases.
ACTION FLEET (NEW CONCEPT!)
Combine the old Action Fleet formula with the concept of Kenner's Micro Series as well as classic green army soldiers.
2" tall figures, painted and with Action Fleet articulation and bases (like on the AF figures- between the leg space and not all around the figures).
Offer platform playsets, starships, vehicles and creatures. Dimension wise, a Millenium Falcon and a Royal Starship would be the largest vehicles in this series (not exactly to scale that is). Stick with smaller ships and one manned fighters.
Sell whole packs of unarticulated army builders (so the price stays in a certain range buyers would be willing to put down). And in this case articulation isn't all that important as these are packs of ten, twenty or more army building characters.
What do you guys and gals think?

The Micro Collection was the ancestor of the AF line.
High hopes buddies,
I'm a firm believer and a warm receiver :-))
Still thinkin' of the possibility of seeing capital ships made ...at last.
I tried to find the Mon Calamari "Liberty" in China and in HK but alas...
It's not an ironcload guarantee we will see something worth the wait but it's very promising.
Stay tuned (As commander Adama said : So say we all !).
Making high-end collectibles at fair prices would be a wise choice for Hoover in this era of a new interest in collecting vehicles and spaceships more than figures.
Hey guys, long time no see.
This got me so excited when I read this. I only hope that they do better with this line than they did with the Episode 2 AF. We have a good thing going here. DON'T SCREW THIS UP HASBRO!

Although the Die-Cast line has promise, I have to agree with StarmanSkywalker. I would rather have movable figures then the solid one piece Die-Cast. I mean some of the DC figures wouldn't be able to fit into certain spots on playsets or in the ships if they have opening canopies. Try fitting the old Hoth Han Solo into a X-Wing or Han on a Tauntaun into teh Snowspeeder. Anyway, if you drop a AF plastic figure the paint won't chip off like the Die-Cast. IMO, this new MICRO COLLECTION would be perfect if it would have PLASTIC MOVABLE ACTION-Fleet style figures. And make the ships half Die-Cast, like Kenners old line.
And Hasbro should have 2 MICRO lines:
1) Micro-Machines / Action Fleet
2) Die-Cast Ships and Figures.

I dont mind the idea of die cast ships and seeing as in the new Micro line there are plastic figures, so my way of thinking the best of both worlds would be to have die cast ships with plastic figures.
Also i think that the painting techniques now compared to the vintage die cast ships is probably a lot better so hopefully chipping/flaking paint wont be such an issue.
And as for pricing, i would still rather pay $20 than $250+ for a Code3 ship. At $20 its not prohibitive to have a MIB and an opener...ok its dearer than AF but i would rather have somthing than nothing. And also at this point i just hope that if these are released they are good quality and new sculpts so collectors will buy them.

well, it's now nearly two years since this piece o' dreck (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showthread.php?t=21269)
now that hasbro is takin' survey's regarding market interest in a small line, is there any rumblin' goin' on over in rhode island concerning action fleet? micro machines? the real mainstay of what made galoob great.
i do like the die-cast line, but when it comes to a real satisfying toy, it's got to be either micro machines or action fleet.
anything herad as of late?
