This is a true story, as funny as it sounds:

My girlfriend's brother is a pastor of a church. He has two twin sons who are about 2 1/2 years old.

One loves emergency rescue heroes. Both are just learning to talk.

On Sunday, he wanders off (not too far from his parents) and he stands on a chair at church in order to pull on the shiny red and white lever on the wall.

Instantly the fire alarm sounds and everyone has to be evacuated from the church, Sunday school, etc.

The alarm autmatically notifies the fire department and their emergency vehicles respond, much to the young boy's delight.

In his best spoken English, as he can't prounouce words all too well yet, the boy stands outside the church as members evacuate from the false alarm, still unsure what is going on. Pointing and announcing for all to hear, the boy yells "Fire F--k! Fire F--k! Fire F--K!"

What a great pastor's son. :)

That church probably never saw so much action in a day!

Wish I could have seen that one!

There's a guy I work with who is a walking paradox. I like him, we work together well and all, but I'm getting to know him better lately. He appears to be adamently opposed to people being gay. It is a "wrong" behavior and just because people may want to act on it doesn't mean they should because it's "wrong."

Okay. The next thing I learned is when I brought up that survey in which a healthy majority of Americans believe in Creationism. To that he replied, "So?" Because I have to work with him, I chose to not broach that any further.

He's an otherwise intelligent guy, but the religious influence over him is overwhelming....

HOWEVER....just today I learn that he and his hot wife (who thongs...) sit and watch porn together at home. I didn't feel like prying into any further activities they enjoy together. I also know that he chuckles at the thought of actually going to a church on Sundays or to any service on the holidays.

So we have an interesting contrast of vehement religious beliefs on one hand and a complete scoffing over religious traditions and beliefs on the other.

I am dying to understand this guy but since we have to work together, I can't bring myself to bring it up. Where do these people come from? Humanity is doomed...

Most people believe only what's convenient for them.

Tycho, who are you to say if a fire alarm is False or Real ? :crazed:

I have become a student of hypocrisy.

It was a False Alarm because there was no fire or medical emergency.

But it was a True Alarm that the boy knew how to pull levers and found a way to get to see a fire truck up close, at his beck and call.

So this could be a False-True-Alarm.

In a different way, if you're just looking at the fire emergency side of it, then this was a True-False-Alarm.

You follow?

his hot wife (who thongs...)
Forget Mr. Johnny-come-lately Catholic. I'd just sit back and watch his wife's butt-floss.
