In comparison with the other Silver Saga figures. I mean you can get any of the others for under $25. Yet the TF Vader continiously nets over $100 and sometimes $200. Did they not make as many of these compared to the others. Is it because it was the first??

He was not only the first, but much more limited. This was handed out during a single Toy Fair event (and VERY limited SSW.com sales), whereas the others saw distribution nation wide!

With that being said then the CIII Vader will be the same way correct?? Sold at a single even and then very limited on ssw.com.

The Toy Fair Vader actually has his lightsaber coming out of the packaging and it is in color (red...duh). If I remember right, this was even harder to get than the CIII vader. It was on the website for a short time, but when it was gone, it was GONE. It never showed up a second time. Its quite sharp looking if you asked me.

the C3 Vader is easier to obtain and cheaper compared to the Toy Fair Silver Vader. i have yet to see a Silver Vader under $100. i remember hearing that most of the Vaders that were shipped, were damaged. due to the saber coming out of the package, they were bent or broken off, because lack of safe packaging.

I lucked out on mine. I ordered two from ssw.com and they both came undamaged. I ended up trading one for a silver Boba Fett last year. I didn't realize the value on them was so high at the time. It's alright though. I also got a James Earl Jones autographed Vader in the trade too.

I too lucked out on mine. However, if I'd known what the value was going to be, I would've ordered a pair of them--one to keep and one to perhaps consider an investment down the road. Oh well, at least I have one silver Vader to serve as a conversation piece with other collectors who see my displays. :)

I bought two of these from SSW.com when they were first made available. They were both recieved in immaculate, mint, pristine condition. I was blown-away when I opened the box they were shipped in. I never before or since have received figures in such good condition. Anyway...
I took one to CIII and had it graded by AFA. It was given a grade of AFA-90.
I was so happy to get such a high grade, but asked why it wasn't a 95. I was told it was because the tip of the lightsaber had the slightest little chip where the red paint had come off.
Oh well, I figured. AFA-90 is damn good for ANY figure, let alone a Darth Vader Toy Fair that was a couple years old.
As I was walking away from the table, a guy stopped and asked to see the figure. I showed him and he saw it was graded AFA-90. He said "How much do you want for this?" I told him I really didn't bring it with the intent to sell it, but make me an offer anyway. He said "I'll give you $300.00 cash right now."
"Sold" I said.
So a figure that I paid $6.99 + $35.00 for grading = $41.99 got me a profit of almost $260.00 in less than 5 minutes of having it graded.
And I still have one more at home. But that one is staying where it is.:)

The Toy Fair Vader was 14.99 on-line and I only bought one. At the time I wasn't really collecting, but this guy struck my attention again. I was surprised at the condition it came in. As far as I'm concerned it's C10. I don't need some moron to pay $ to tell me what my figure is worth. AFA is a joke.

Well, most of the reasons given already.
Biggest factors:
1) Toy Fair event for 25th anniversay. Only for vendors.
2) 1st Silver version until it has been overdone.
3) 1st time Fan Club offers exclusive for sale at reasonable price, but as with other exclusives offered, it did not last long.
4) More limited than C3 Vader since they have figured out to make more. It has already been offered twice on SWS.com.
I doubt it will ever go below $100-150 unless it is reissued which I doubt.
Thank you.

Which can only mean that I will never own one. It's not worth that much money IMO, no 4 inch hunk of plastic is, there I said it! :p

Well, good thing you do not collect carded vintage esp. original POTF.
It makes the TF Vader seem cheap.
Thank you.
