Since they did the TRU exclusive Anakin starfighter, I would like them to repaint the mold again and release Obi-Wan's 2nd starfighter. Only this time, make people want to buy it. And the best way to do that is to include that awesome hyperspace ring from the movie. Also, instead of repacking a figure that doesn't fit in the cockpit, how about a new soft goods version pack-in. Or, instead of Obi-Wan, pack in the 2 droid things that were holding the ring.

Dream on. We're almost certainly getting a repaint with #1 Obi-Wan and a recycled headset. Which I wouldn't even mind at a fair 20-dollar price-point. But for 30...I don't think so!

The bad thing about the Anakin starfighter is that Hasbro had it @ their CIII display and it had a $19.99 retail on it. I don't know why TRU decided to jack the price of this up another $10.

Thirty bucks did seem a little much for a starfighter and figure. For that you could have gotten both Obi's and Anakin's starfighter at TRU while they were on sale. Or even the Gunship, or ARC Fighter. I was thinking about getting it, but decided to pass on it. If they actually do Obi's I'd much rather get that one. I dug the blue paint scheme.

That's the problem with exclusives, no competition and limited runs create higher prices.

I like the idea of a hyperspace ring, but I'd REALLY love it if they did it so the ring had the top and bottom engines removable and it could also link up with the Ep 2 Jedi Starfighter. I'd buy that exclusive (though I bet most collectors would get super mad at Hasbro for doing it this way ;)).

Heck, they could just make the ring for the E2 version of the Starfighter and sell it seperate and make good money.

HEY! Don't give them any more bright ideas! They're :greedy: enough as it is! :p

That's one idea I would love to see them do.

Me too, that's why I was saying the toy of the hyperspace ring for the Ep 3 JSF could be made so it could be modified to also be the one for the Ep 2 JSF, thus saving us the need to buy 2 rings and save them the cost of making 2 separate toolings.

It would almost have to be 2 different toolings, since the E2 starfighter is different that the E3 starfighter.

If it was a choice between the two, I'd much prefer having the AOTC hyperdrive ring. However, they might be able to include the extra four thrusters as an add-on feature, and perhaps there is a way to connect either starfighter to the ring by making the part that connects to the ships adjustable.

OK, I am starting a Fantasy SW "Ultimate Saga" line. Among the many ships of the line will be...

Obi-Wan's "Attack of the Clones" Jedi Starfighter (MSRP 24.95) (All-new sculpt)
-Removable Hyperspace Ring
-Opening Spare Parts Compartment
-Exclusive R4 figure
-Pop-Up Radar Dish
-Spare Parts

Obi-Wan's "Revenge of the Sith" Jedi Starfighter (MSRP 24.95) (All-new sculpt)
-Removable Hyperspace Ring
-Battle Damage!! (Removable Wing)
-Exclusive R4 figure
-Buzz Droids (4)

Good idea, but the sheer number of accessories and size of the hyperdrive ring would push it into the $29.99-34.99 MSRP range.

Nah, the Hyperspace Ring is just a hunk of plastic and the accesories replace action features like electronics or firing missles and whatnot. Hasbro might not agree, but this is a fantasy line...

Well, the TRU exclusive Jedi Interceptor is, quite simply, an inferior version of a pre-existing toy with different paint and a rehashed figure and accessory. My point? $10 beyond the price of the original vehicle. OK...$5 because the figure would cost $5 in itself.

Hasbro would definitely jack up the price because of the hyperdrive ring.

And those stupid pop-off wings that are on the E2 version.

In the film, the wedge-shape of the Ep 3 JSF seemed to fit into the same wedge-shaped cut away as the Ep 2 ring had, so I was thinking something could probably be worked out that way. You're probably right though, the toys are probably too different in shapes and sizes to accomodate this (I haven't put them next to each other yet to confirm this, but the Ep 2 JSF seems much narrower than the Ep 3 one).

We need to have someone start some kind of poll on who would buy the Hyperspace Rings if Hasbro would actually produce them.
