Very dissapointed with the new Anakin! Very basic looking.

IMO he needs to look more dirty than that, covered in ash and burned.

I was shocked at how huge his unburned head was. It looked monsterous, no wonder he decided to do what he did at the end of the fight, he saw the lava as a way to burn off some of that noggin! Before the so-called
"charred" Anakin can be used with Mustafar, he will need a paint job. This figure just looks like he lost his hair in chemo. Bacara looks fine, except the feature could have been left off to make him more movable. Lastly, we get the AOTC R2 with a new base!!!! I am really not excited about this, there is no need for 2 figures out of the 56 to be R2. Overall, this not an exciting assortment to me anymore (but the completion of the 56 dictates that I buy it....damn.)

I guess we're not actually getting two figures with Anakin, but one figure and a legless "shell." Guess I can save money on buying two of these after all. And I agree - charred Anakin should look more like Freddy Kreuger than a yellow-skinned Mr. Freeze. Very disappointed considering the hype this got, although if it means the scalpers won't gobble it up as quickly, then that could be a good thing.

Yeah the prototype pictures made it look incredible cooler. I am a little upset with it as well.

No doubt.... the Anakin prototype (the one in the fold out ROTS lineup) looks like a bad-a*s! The carded figure just looks too plain. They could have done without the "intact," unburnt Anakin head all together (he looks like "leave it to Beaver"), and just given us a hooded cloak. I at least hope that his legs come off!

Commander Baccara looks pretty sweet! Though the helmet reminds me of a boar's face. Is it just me, or this figure thicker and stockier (more muscular) than the other clones.

I agree... another R2 with sounds is a bit unnecessary. I think what would have been cooler is to give R2 (figure #7) the same kind of flames that were used with the OTC Boba Fett as part of the base. It has those little rockets on it's legs... let's put them to use. Then, get rid of this new R2.

Ugh, why did they tone down the paintjob? I was REALLY looking forward to the Anakin fig, now I guess I will buy it but I am no longer psyched.

WHY!?!?!?!?!?!

The Bacara pic shows that the fig is the same as the #6 Clone with the exceptions of his Helmet and other armor and accessories. In other words if i turn out to really not like the Quick-Draw feature I can just customize him to be SA with the #41 Clone.

I would keep in mind that the figures we see here, mey not be what is in the end product, plus with Hasbros tendency to change items during a run, like the Anakin with the incorrect lightsaber, the Palpatine with the Red/Blue saber and such, we might get two versions of the Anakin. I'm going to take a wait and see with this one, and hope we'll get a charcoal colored Anakin/Vader.

Wondering 2 things...
Do Anakin's legs come off?
Why is he called Anakin anyway? He was Darth Vader by then.

Ssshhhh, spoilers my friend, spoilers for those who buy the figure, without first seeing the movie. ;)

Am still really looking forward to these - well Anakin and Bacarra in any event.

The final rounds of figures in the first 56 are all really exciting for me.

No even the burn factor his face where are the yellow eyes the ****ed off look, the vader image that chilled us in the trailers. looks like in order to get a decent mustafar anakin it will require buying two, after all you need to customize the one if you want to make him look like he did in the movie. Very disappointing,   Hasbro blew the perfect chance to make a much needed figure.

I don't get the need for the R2 figure. The other two look fine to me, though. Is that new R2 like a smaller version of the dice droid version that came with the old Trivial Pursuit game? Someone enlighten me, please.

So this the fourth release of R2 with the electronic sound effects. The first was in the POTF2 Electronix Power F/X line, the second was introduced in the SAGA '02 line, and the third in the first wave (Dagobah R2) of the OTC.

Bacara looks pretty good, I like the shields on this helmet or whatever they are. Is he the only trooper with this type of helmet?

Anakin should be like a charcoal briquet. Maybe Hasbro toned the figure down for kids. I don't like Hasbro's using a "nesting doll" approach to making figures. What is the deal with the eyeliner? Looks like Anakin got a visit from the Mustafar Mary Kay droid before Palpatine rescued him.

Here's a side-by-side comparison of the prototype and new pic paintjobs. Man, I wish I was a good craftsman, Chemo Patient Anakin could simply be customized to be Extra Crispy Anakin with a little paint...

http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=11337&stc=1

EDIT: Just noticed: They changed the paint on his robotic arm and thus made is look like the AOTC arm and not the ROTS one! WHAT!?!?!?

One of us needs to hostile takeover that company and DO IT RIGHT!!!

I suppose we shouldn't be surprised at the flawed anakins and obi-wans we're getting. To go by Hasbro's track record its going to take a lllloooonnnnnggggg time for them to make non-gimmicky, movie accurate versions of the core characters.

He SHOULD be called Darth Vader.

He was Darth Vader by that point in the movie, hasbro seem to think that just because he aint in the suit he's still Anakin Skywalker!

Thanks for the side-by-side comparison, Beckmen. Wow, they really blew that figure. I throw this one up there in the bait and switch hall of fame. I no longer have any desire to get this one. Plus the pre-charcoal face looks very close to the one on original vintage Luke.

Im very dissapointed with Anakin...the burnt one supposed to go inside the normal one? If so...what a waste....

I have mentioned this before -
I am glad we got the figure of Annakin who walks up to Obi after he pushed him (children's version) into the orange dyed swimming pool and yelled I hate you for not letting me use the SPF 30!!! This sun burn is gonna frikkn' hurt in the shower!!

Maybe it's because his head is too big, but the hood on the cloak doesnt look big enough. I think it should come down over his eyes like it does when he shuts the doors and flips out on the sepratists. The hood should cover more and he needs to look meaner.

What's funny, is that on the Attactix Starter Pack(also made by Hasbro), the same character IS called DARTH VADER!

probably due to spoilers hasbro just left is as Anakin Skywalker, yet I dont really know what it would spoil, we all know he becomes Darth anyways...

The crispy Anakin figure should be called Darth Vader, just like the #35 Palpatine figure should be called Darth Sidius in my opinion. Oh well, we all know who thes characters other aliases are regardless of what Hasbro says they are.

I know I've pretty much already stated my opinion on the Mustufar anakin earlier in the thread but having looked at the pictures on Rebelscum again I feel it deserves....reiteration. This figure is about as bad as a basic figure can get. It seems to take a leaf out of deluxe Emperor's book and turns out suitably poor for having done so.

Come on Hasbro will you ever cop on?!!?   :frus: :dis:

Hasbro would rather take the cheap way out of giving us a good figure than the time it takes to do accurate sculpting, color job, and most important likeness and articulation...:(

I found this wave today at Target. I got figs 45 through 50. Yeah, I am not a big fan of the #50 Anakin either. :(

I picked up Anakin and Baccara at Target earlier this week and I like the Anakin figure. Yes he could of looked more realistically burned but come on it's an action figure meant for kids not adults. I'm not saying the figure is perfect but it's kind of fun to pop the legs and arm off and have Obi-Wan standing over him. Now the Baccara on the other hand just sucks. I hate the action feature on this figure. It really doesn't even work well because the skirt Baccara has restricts smooth movement. Once again action features are something appealing to a kid not adults. I just don't get the action feature thing with Hasbro. They never seem to work right and lose all of the limited articulation they started with.
