Hi All,

I bought an otherwise MOMC Target Vader from an eBay seller in the US but it arrived without the "backing card" which sits in the outer case behind main item. I'm in the UK so I cannot return the item :(

If anyone may have opened the packaging for one of the "Target Exclusive" Vaders and may be willing to sell the "backing card", I will pay a good price for it! I've wasted too many hours on this already!

Photos of the exact item I am searching for:

I've searched eBay worldwide & all the completed listings. I've posted messages on countless forums. Also hit every specialist site possible & googled as many strings I can imagine!

If anyone out there has ANY suggestions of anywhere online I may have missed out, I would be very grateful!

Many thanks,

stone-trooper

Just in case you are interested, there were several reports of these being packaged without the insert. So, there is actually nothing wrong with yours. However, I do understand where you are coming from. I would not want my Vader without the insert either.

Here are a few ideas:

A)You could always try hunting down a Target exclusive Clone Trooper, open it up and use that lava insert for your Target Vader. The insert is exactly the same and that figure might be easier to locate than a loose insert or another Lava Reflection Vader. For example I bought several Clone Troopers to open myself and I used one of my extra clamshells w/lava insert to protect my TRU exclusive Holo Yoda.

B)Or wait for the revised ROTS clamshell packs (that actually fit the figures without damaging them) which should contain 1 lava insert just like the recalled packs did.

Good luck. :)

I'm sorry man, I just don't think those last two options were any good. I'm sure they were well intended but first of all, in alot of areas (mine included) the Target clones were harder to get ahold of than the Vaders as greedy collectord and scalpers were buying up straight cases before before they even made it onto the pegs! The Target closest to my house received two cases within two weeks of each other, and the same jerk was allowed to buy them both! I got lucky the second time and was able to catch him and he gave up two. I'm just saying that in many cases, I've read reports of this happening all around the country, those clones are just as hard to find with out paying some scalpers outrageous premium.
I do have two of the lava Vaders myself, and I might be willing to part with one, I'll have to check and see if it has the backer. . . . Okay I do. In addition to my previous point, the cards that come with these figures feature that character on the back, and I would imagine if this guy is this serious of a collector he probably won't want to put and card that has a clonetrooper all over the back, inside the case of his Lava Vader. Or change the original case for the ones we're waiting for.
Again I'm just stating my opinion, not trying to be rude. :nerv:

Just figured I'd offer some alternative options short of replacing the actual Vader card.

I understand, again I didn't want to be rude, I just have a hunch that he probably will want everything original. Plus I'm pretty bitter about Targets allowing a few to hog all the Clones, especially when they have a posted policy against it. Sorry for the rant. :nerv:

Dude, your avatar is sad, just sad. I still see that little kid coming out from behind the throne in my dreams.

This is streching it, but worth a try. Dan Curto at RS took the pics for their archives & may still have the backdrop to sell

I don't know the guy & have no idea if he can hook you up. However, the pics show the figure loose so he may be able to hook you up! Good luck!

I believe I have the backing card and clamshell at home. If you pay shipping via paypal I'll send it out.

Did anyone notice on the bottom of their Lava Vader the packaging has ripped from the backing? I was able to get 2 Lavas on 4-2 and both of them have the ripped symptoms.

I will try to explain: when looking at the bottom of the package, where the bar code is, the point where the bubble meets the cardboard is suppoosed to be glued togather. Both of my Vaders are torn at this point, exposing the white cardbaord underneath where the rip has occurred, leaving what I call the San Andraes Fault Line of a crack.

2 Lavas eh??? I see how it is... I had to settle for Ebay, heh.

But no, the Lava Vader I have doesn't have the rip or tear you speak of on the bottom of the bubble/card. It does have a slightly bent J-Hook  , but what else is new?

Yes, 2 Lava Vaders.

Believe it or not, my wife waited in line with me for almost 3 hours to get the other fig. She is awesome!!!

Anyways, I remember that when I was buying the figs, I asked the cashier to give me two others becase the bubble on the right corner of the packaging on both figs was smashed:dead: . I was guess that they were all messed up in some way because the two that I got are ripped from the inside packaging on the bottom where the plastic is glued to the cardboard backing. However I am greatful that I at least have themlol .

Heh.. You do have a very cool wife!

But I have heard of MANY vaders being damaged pretty badly. If the cardboard wasn't messed up, ie J hook, or the clamshell or case, then you lucked out. I think a lot of the protective cases were damaged in shipping or something (dented or creased). My case has a very little bend in the bottom left corner, not really noticeable, and it is unpunched so I figure I got pretty lucky. The J-hook is a different story that we all know about. I wonder how many perfect vaders are out there, perfect Jhook, no bends on casing, unpunched??? There can't be many.
