What's the main sweetening ingredient? Does it taste all chemically and yicky like the others?

It is sweetened partly with a blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium. However there is no after taste at all...... :classic: mmmmmm coke zero

I actually like C2... I drink that when I want more of the REAL Coke flavour. The Diet Coke with Splenda is also quite good. It doesn't taste as "chemically" flavoured...

**** tastes like diet Coke.
I figured yours would taste like Dr. Pepper. :p

I drink diet Coke on occasion and have never noticed it's "chemical flavor". Perhaps next time I'll "look" for it. What is the chemical in question?

Splenda (mutant sugar? ;)) and acesulfame potassium (the stuff they've been putting in a lot of the "flavored water" products lately) taste horrible to me, they leave an aftertaste more brief but somehow even less acceptable than Sweet-n-Low (saccharin). Aspertame (nutrasweet) in general makes me wanna barf. I doubt there will ever be an artificial sweetner that works for me, I have a pretty sensitive palate.

I spent a hard earned $1.25 on a diet Coke last nite in the spirit of experimentation. I didn't really pick up on a chemical "flavor". Then again, I like ketchup on my cheese dogs, so take it for what it's worth :D .

Tried CC Zero yesterday.... sorry but I thought it tasted like Diet Coke. I'm not saying it was Diet Coke but it had that diet taste to it. I'll just have to stick with the full leaded Coke.

I recently switched to diet soda, something I never thought I would do . . . but I did and I'm pleased. Sierra Mist Free and Caffeine Free Diet Mountain Dew are at the top of my list so I'll have to give this new Coke Zero a try . . .

You know what's weird, when it comes to regular octane Coke vs. Pepsi, I much much much much much much much prefer Coke to Pepsi but in the case of Diet Sodas, I'll take Diet Pepsi over Diet Coke anyday. Odd.

Caffine Free Diet Mountain Dew is great.I hadnt had regular Mountain Dew for awhile but from what I can remember the taste is quite similar.Sprite Zero is a step up from Diet Sprite, but it does have a slight aftertaste.

Probably the best thing in artificial sweetners is some special-order crystal stuff (cant remember the name and too lazy to go to the kitchen to check :crazed: ) Doesnt have the weird aftertaste and is the closest thing to sugar IMO.
