View Full Version : First images of the UNLEASHED 2" four-packs!

Edit: Links from GH.com gone.....

These are rather cool! I didn't focus on the 7" UNLEASHED toys (proudly own and display Padmé, Obi Wan and the AOTC Clone Trooper though) but now I will start with the change of scale.

I used to love Micro Machines and Action Fleet figurines, but Hasbro sucessfully killed off those lines after buying Galoob and firing the experienced staff. Only other line I could collect now, were the SW Miniatures. Though, that "you can't see what you'll get" set-up and those VR and Super Ultra Rares characters kind of put me off.

These seem very detailed, even articulated. I hope they will add more main characters to the mix soon. This line has a great potential of expansion!

Also, $9.99 is a pretty good price for so much quality and details!

Funny however that they want to run a Titanium Micro Figures line as well- basically Die-Cast versions of the Star Wars Miniatures. These should be plastic- Hasbro didn't learn from the faliure of the Micro Collection line from 1982. Kids didn't like the metal figures. They want figures they can play with, not watch that the color chips off when dropping them once.
On the other hand, I really LIKE THE IDEA behind these sets!
They could release themed sets for the whole Saga by repacking these figures! I really minded that you didn't know which figures you would get and that the most important/ coolest were rare to super rare.
These would be very cool, IF THEY WERE MADE OF PLASTIC. :ermm:
It's also interesting that Hasbro thought of reusing the Micro Collection molds!

By Galactichunter.com:
"A number of concepts were shown, none of which were finalized. These include "Micro Collection" stlye figures and playsets, vehicle-based dioramas, and more metal everything. We love the orignal Micro Collection and would jump at new versions... but reruns do not interest us in the slightest. An on-site survey may determine the future of this seemingly successful collectible range."

Damn! I thought I wouldn't collect these...

Damn hasbro for making them army builders...

Guess I'm going to be kukoo for cocoa puffs....er Unleashed battlepacks.

Dang, just when I thought I was going to be SAVING money too...

Initially, I'll say thanks Hasbro. While I don't like the ideaof the regular Unleashed line being put on "hiatus", this line looks to be an acceptable alternative. (So long as it's not permanent please)

These are really nice. Alot better than I was thinking.

Can you guys just imagine the diorammas we'll be making?

These are really nice. Alot better than I was thinking.I was thinking the same thing. Let's just hope that the paint detail carries over from these protos.

You know when I heard that hasbro was going to change the unleashed line to 2" figures, I was like what the hell? Now after seeing what they will be, all I can do is shake my head. These are terrible imo. I mean they're little painted unposeable figures. And 4 of them for 10 bucks?! I dunno, maybe it's just me, but the regular unleashed line was far superior that there really isn't any comparison.

07-18-2005, 11:11 AM
Well, we had 7" figures that were unpaoseable for 15 bucks, so 4 for ten isnt bad.

I saw these in person, and they suck as badly as you might expect. Horrid paint jobs on mediocre figures.

I say we all boycott this line and maybe they'll get the message and go back to proper Unleashed figures.

I have always stood by the phrase the bigger the better; the bigger the toy the better....in most cases. And in my opinion, in this instance, it applies. I'd rather have a 7" non-poseable line to a 2" semi-poseable line. But whatever, according to Hasblow the line isn't cancelled it's been placed on "hold".

07-18-2005, 01:47 PM
Ehhhhhh. I'm not crazy about them. I can see why people would be though. Just another Hasbro offering I'm gonna pass on  .

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I looked at these things up close at the Con, and these pics look a lot better than the real things. The paint application is horrible, the sculpts are okay at best, and they look really cheap. They're barely a step up from the many lousy PVC figures that have been made over the years.

I for one am not a happy camper, and I'll not be buying any of this crap. Even if they make a Totally Ripped Grinnin' Kit Fisto/Slave Leia/Jawa/Qui-Gon Jinn 4-pack that includes an autographed photo of Barriss Offee.

07-19-2005, 09:34 AM
WOW! These are AWESOME...or they would be...if they were 5" taller.

07-20-2005, 12:43 PM
Not as bad as I expected.

07-21-2005, 11:44 AM
They look okay for the most part
My only complaint is that the hands on 'em are WAY too big (I'm pretty big on miniatures like these and stuff like that really bugs me)
I'll see if I like them in the stores when they hit, then fix them up with my painting abilities :beard:
Or not :D

On hold....until when? When Sideshow gets requests to take it over after their 12" is the hit of next year.
I gotta admit, the photos of the slides of the 2" Clone Packs look sweet, but another freakin scale is not what we need.

I guess I won't be buying any Star Wars toys next year. Unless a wave of regular, real, Unleashed figures comes out for Christmas '06. Thanks for saving me a little money Hasbro.:classic:

It is nice to be able to skip stuff every now and then and these are something I can skip. I have just never cared for anything smaller than the basic star wars line and I can't imagine army building tiny little figures. More for every one else I guess...

08-08-2005, 01:58 PM
Some of those liitle guys look neat but on the whole I'm going to pass on these. Now if they were the 'standard' size? Ehh maybe not then.

They remind me of japanese gashapon. The detail can be amazing for being so small if done right. If they look good, my wife will definitely have something else to contend with.

Dear Hasbro,

You lost me with Unleashed. These things look terrible. Thanks for killing another great line. I will never forgive you and I will never buy those little nuggets you now call unleashed. Die die die.

Here's a clearer picture of all 4 of them carded.

i can't see these packs being sold for anymore than 9.99 though hopefully they'll be less than that since i'm planning to get some of them.

10-18-2005, 01:16 AM
$9.99 is the retail price. I for one might be in a minority here, but I am rather fond of these. I always thought, a Star Wars line similar to small army soldier figures would be awesome. Though, I understand people don't like at the 6" UNLEASHED line's expense.

I guess, I would be happy again if Hasbro brought back Micro Machines and the 6" UNLEASHED line so we'd get two great lines- and not a mix of both which satisfies neither groups completely.

10-23-2005, 12:26 AM
I think they stink. I'll pass for sure.

I'll buy Unleashed when they become Unleashed again.

10-23-2005, 10:40 AM
Im still confused on why they even made these- the regular size line was doing good, and they already have a mini line... so why not just do battle packs for the minis?

10-24-2005, 07:56 PM
I predict this line will bomb, big time!

10-27-2005, 12:33 PM
If I could post only four characters, it would read:
