in refernce to our conversations regarding canuck die cast gift pack (http://188.8.131.52/thread.html?dom=ss&TID=20&PID=1615), if you have yet to aquire it, i refer you to this auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1629744146).
it ends in 2 days or so, and the price is still $1.00
08-21-2001, 11:08 PM
Thanks for the tip. Hopefully this one won't go as high as the last one and hopefully I remember to place a bid before it's too late.
BTW, don't I still owe you something for the Jonny Quest MMs you got for me quite a while ago? I e-mailed you a few times but never heard from you. I believe you were hoping to get an emblemless AF green A-Wing. I still haven't seen one even up on ebay in a very long time, but I do search for it frequently.

i'm too lazy fer the moment to go weedin' through the archives to find my responses to you.
you keepin an eye out for the emblemless green a-wing is di-di aynu! (translation: good enough for me!)
thanx for being on the continued lookout!

GSJ: I actually managed to bid on it and get it this time, but I almost missed out. The auction was ending at just about 1:30 AM EST. At 1:15 I remembered the auction was ending soon so I had to fly home real fast to make it. I got in 3 minutes before it ended, placed my bid and won the auction for 29.00. I was very happy until I just woke up and found out what I missed out on last night on ebay. I need Babylon 5 MM sets 5, 6, and all of them loose. I also need most of the harder to find ST MMs loose. Check out these auctions:
It would have been nice to get at least some of them. I really don't understand why someone would put a buy now price on something if they have no idea what the going rate is.
08-24-2001, 03:48 PM
. . .you're actually complaining that rare sfmms went for too LITTLE? personally, if i ever auctioned stuff off that's exactly how i'd do it- set a buy it now price so tempting it'd be claimed in a flash. that's how memories are made :)
that said, i wish i coulda spotted these for y'all too. but this falls under the "snooze you lose" category (speaking of which, are you EVER gonna answer my emails about your order? ). collecting's the art of the possible. we should just be glad Someone was able to buy these items without getting inordinately gouged (just so long as buyer doesn't plan to re-sell at a profit, that is, but there's no way to know that kinda thing right now).

you may wanna e-mail the sellers, and tell em about our little slice o' heaven here. who know's maybe they have other micro's that they may be interested in offering in exchange fer trades, or would be willing to provide happiness to the collectors here!
people go to ebay, cause they don't know where else to go.
i got's to agree with vt, it's refreshing to see that someone is offering little peices of plastic at reasonable buyt it now price!
the last time i saw that done wuz when i bagged the bp's fer swaffy, they were all the origianl ones with the dropped figures, and the buy it now was less than srp for the lot!
sometimes good deals do pop up on ebay. i check in over there every once in awhile to see if anything that i know that baal or anyone else might want is available, but i don't keep regular tabs, as i just completed my collection!
as indicated in the st mm thread, irc.rockford came through for me, and bagged me those pesky tail end x-rays!............
doh! i lie like a rug:mad:
i still don't have that emblemless green a-wing:rolleyes:
08-24-2001, 04:35 PM
. . .i.e., invite them here & see if they'd want to trade (or otherwise ethically part with) anything from the lots they bagged :)

since s43 can apparently find time to continue participating on this forum but has not been able to reply to my repeated emails re the stuff i'm Still holding for him, i have decided that he will not be eligible for my forum-wide offer to hunt for y'all at the trekcon this weekend. i have further decided that until further notice he shall not be eligible for advance credit, and will have to pay for the items i'm currently holding Before i send them. as most of you know, this is in sharp contrast from the way i usually conduct business, particularly with those (such as s43) with whom i have previously done business.
it is hoped that the patience i have shown, in only now resorting to these limited sanctions, will prompt a satisfactory resolution to this situation, and forgo the need for more comprehensive, result-oriented measures.
if and when said resolution is acheived, i will promptly post notice of same here. until then, everyone reading this is advised to delay or avoid all business dealings with s43-

VT: I didn't mean to sound as if I was complaining that they went for too little. I was just jealous that someone else got to them before me. I love getting good deals and I like to see others get good deals as well. If I actually didn't miss them I wouldn't need any B5 MMs loose or carded and I don't think I would have needed any ST MMs either. It would have been nice to get them all out of the way, but I did snooze and so I did lose.

shinakuma, our most Valued bounTy hunter may grow tired of this waitin' game. as he has indicated many time in the past, he is not only bounty hunter extraordinaire , he is also a Venerable Tightwad, who does not like to part with dineros unnecessarily. (heck! he rides heard on me everytime i spend moolah like it grows on trees!) he extends credit, where credit has shown to be trustworthy. by not responding to his attempts to close the transaction request which you have made of him, it weakens the position of the community as a whole. vt has come to my help many times, in securing hard to find items, and has always put the money up front, trusting in the relationship which was formed over at the buzz board, and solidified here. i don't want him 2nd guessing me jes cause another long time trusted member here, ended up stiffing him for something which he himself couldn't care for.
please conclude you're dealings with mr. touch.
it is critical that the trust we have established with one another here be maintained and continued. we have set the standard for the rest of the star wars (and star trek) collecting community, displaying how proper collecting business should be conducted. (this is why at the present time, we are not required to hoof it down to the trading section to help each other out).
what sets the mm community apart from all other sw related collecting folks, is that hasbro at present refuses to make any new product. the only way possible for any of us to get the mm toys that we wnat and do not posess, is through the efforts of others. this situation requires that each of us treat eachother in the manner which we wished to be treated ourselves.
as this particular arrangement between you and VT is gettin' a little long in the tooth, it's high time that this transaction be completed.
08-28-2001, 10:02 AM
Geez, maybe I shouldn't mention that I forgot to throw a check in with VT's mm package yesterday. :(
08-28-2001, 12:34 PM
same goes for shinky, of course :)
shinky: you ain't the only one who's jealous someone else got em. i woulda Loved to've been able to bag em for whoever needs :)

GSJ: As soon as I saw VTs post last night I e-maild him saying I can send out what I was able to dig out and whatever I owe today. I guess time flies when you procrastinate. I had no idea it was about 3 weeks since I replied to an e-mail he sent me, and in that time I kept meaning to find the rest of the stuff but still haven't done it. Well hopefully it's not a problem including the rest in our next deal. I wasn't going to post about this since VT said he'd post an update when he heard form me. I just don't want it to seem like it's being dragged out further to anyone else.
Sorry again VT,

i didn't mean to come off so high horsey sounding.
the friendships and the banding together of this mm community for the last year and a half is important to all of us, and as such it's imperative that we maintain our relationships with the highest integrity.
think about prior to the evolution of this forum, where else did we go, to search out our mm bounty. usually ebay was our only resource. and as such, we were held hostage by scalping mercenaries.
this forum has transpired into a safe heaven from having to go that route. we are all located in different corners of the globe, this gives us greater chances to beat the scalpers odds, by pooling our collective resources to help each other out!
08-28-2001, 03:10 PM
ShinaKuma.....why must you pour salt in old wounds? :D I saw that auction on ebay before it got put in completed items and I beat myself up for missing it... There was also a seperate auction that ended that was nothing but rares (minus Captain's Yacht, Caretaker Array, Kazon Torpedo and HMS Bounty) and it was only $60 on the buy it now!!! What really hurts is that I knew the seller was putting that auction up and every chance I got I was looking at his current auctions list but the one time I don't, that's when it went up... Aye Corumba... for $110 after buying both of those auctions you could of had every single rare ship. (minus the captain's yacht, heh) Mope...mope...mope.... :D  :p

See, I'm paranoid, so I kept my main bank account from being touched by Paypal because I don't trust any online company with that much of my info AND all my money ;). Anyway, I'll get you a check that won't bounce or I'll just fill up that other account and paypal you when it clears. Sorry for the delay (I haven't opened the package you sent yet, I figure since I haven't paid for it, I shouldn't enjoy it). :o
What's driving me nuts is that the dealers of Hasbro toys have started noticing how much these MM and AF toys are getting, and are asking unbelievable prices at shows and stuff. One guy had that first STMM boxed set (the one with like 9 ships in it) for "only" fifty bucks...
08-30-2001, 11:27 AM
what's with all this penitent self-denial? crack that damn egg already, whaddya think i sent it for :p besides, i wanna hear if everything got there a-ok or mashed like that jpg you recently posted :p
besides, i got Yer pkg yesterday (report later) :) re payment, do what's easiest 4u, speed's not an issue. YET

Well, the box is in dandy condition, but I just don't feel right about enjoying something I owe so much money for. When I got the gold-plated X-rays from R2 a loooong while back, I never really felt right about them until I had finally paid her back (though I did enjoy the DS Trooper figure inside, IIRC ;)).
So, what did you think of the selection I sent you, were you surprised to see some of that stuff?
08-31-2001, 12:31 PM
oh, yeah, right, i guess i see what you mean about it being seauuu MUCH MONEY   cmon, i Need to know that that stuff (some of which are going to trade partners of yers) arrived in good enough shape. while you're at it, When did it get there? reePORT!!! :p
you wanna make up the damn delay to me, get to work on my blue-VioleT custom icon (based on symbol on pkg, the one incorporating the fett-helmet "eject" triangles). work up a rough draft, send it to firstname.lastname@example.org and i'll advise changes as needed. then, seeing as how i was a top tenner (http://184.108.40.206/thread.html?dom=ss&TID=20&PID=5295) before the forum change (http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/Forum1/HTML/002948.html), implement its aVailabiliTy Now, not when i reach some magic number ;)
report: from-jt pkg
alas, the "bonus something" was Not an alpha cloudcar (as i'd realistically hoped) Or a diecast rachel groundcar (as i'd UNlealistically hoped), but instead a commdork luke w/t-16 minimicro anyone could buy for $2 at tru ;P i already have said t-16 (found o-o-p for $.25 a year ago :) ), so i'll either give b'jr this one or use it for unopened trade fodder at trekcon 2nite (not that i'll expect it to fetch much ;) ).
jt's generous compensation mm trade package included ferengi, d shuttle, reliant and ds9 :) also, coVeTed-on-this-end tailenders like klaestron and maquis, which'll help make b'jr happy to've sacrificed what woulda been his second sickosailor so that you could have your first :)
the real surprise is the voy jt sent, in that it is an error i'd never seen: ITS SAUCER SECTION HAS NO ORANGE PAINT ON ITS THRUSTERS, AND NO OLIVE PAINT ON ITS PHASERSTRIPS! Quite a noVelTy, one which i must say i feel priviliged to view :) in case anyone's interested: considering the demand for this franchise-centered ship, i may be able to persuade b'jr to trade it for THREE jemhadar ships in great shape; anyone here able & wanting to make such a trade? counteroffers welcome :)
also enclosed was the teemto racer pod in great shape, which i shall be forwarding on to bc3. bc3: i was gonna do my "MModification" to this, but the carriage-affixing screws are sticking a little too much when i tried to remove them. so rather than risk stripping their heads, i'm gonna send it intact to you & leave any such modification in your presumably-superior craftsmanship, ok? :o
so, what did You think of Your pkg, jt? i'm WAITING ;P

Annnnywhoodidillydoodilywho, VT you're gonna have to refresh my memory on the logo, how you want it. I mean, I can draw the lines in photoshop (see attached file), but I can't remember what you want beyond that. I have memory problems... lots and lots of memory problems. PS - did I draw your design upside-down in my preview graphic, or did you draw it upside-down on your address label?
As for the package, everything came just as described, though it's a good thing I open pretty much all of my Action Fleet because I had to mangle the shazbot out of that poor Rogue 2 Snowspeeder to get it out of there. The braid sets were minty mint. I had no idea "my" drink had so much booze in it. ;) The package is very nifty (that poor, poor POTJ figure :D) and I'll be getting you the $$$ I owe you as soon as I can.
I didn't have an SA Cloud Car, so I didn't have one to give you, nor did I have any of those nifty Blade Runner die cast cars, so I gave you the one thing I had laying around since it was a semi-MM item that I figured you probably didn't want to pay $2 for (btw, I paid $6 for that sucker, it came in a case of figures I bought). I figured that the worst that would happen is you take it to TRU and get $2 or give it away as trade padding, either way, it's a freebie.
Anyway, glad you dug the DS9, it was originally a replacement for my first one, which my mother bent to heck, but over time (like 3 years!), it straightened itself back out so I had a Tarak Nor and an Empak Nor... now you have an Empak Nor. ;)
Glad you like the Klaestron ship, unlike the Numiri and Karemma ships which make great freighters in my collection (makes me wish I had kept some of those Kazon ships I sent ya), the only thing I could do with the Klaestron ship was make it pretend it was a god of some backwards planet, so I thought you should definitely have it. I'm really glad the Voyager error ship is something you dig. I had no idea that sort of thing was interesting to you.
I also sent you an Oberth-class starship, did you not get/find it?

09-05-2001, 05:51 PM
. . .but as in the porn industry they say, "whack away" :p
btw all, paypal just informed me that, aside from completing the r2/ hololeia trade, shinky's settled his debt w/me. "shinky, son of dinky; i restore your name, and give you back your honorrrr" (gowron, tng's "redemption" ) ;)
09-06-2001, 09:57 AM
"thicken the lines" he says! Sheesh! With this maximum 75 wide image, there's no real way to do this without changing the shape of the image, so I cheated a little and simply doubled-up the image as-is.
09-07-2001, 10:09 PM
then visually the lines could be made to look still thicker, right? :)
what about using whatever you guys use to consturct the regular avatars? using pixels like bricks?
don't sweat it much, if it don't work i'm always happy to stick w/my fetthelm icon, cuz if you look closely at it you can see a "v And a "t" ;) meanwhile thanx for your ongoing efforts :)

Ok, twice as thick. I can also make this a transparent gif too if you think that'd be something you'd like to see (that means that the white background would become transparent instead).
09-10-2001, 12:32 PM
. . .make it about 30% thicker, and then stretch the arms out to the side about 20% so as to increase its grasp. also, trim the arms' ends at an angle so that, if this spidery symbol were to use them as landing gear, they'd meet the ground w/a flat surface  so, haVin fun yeT? ;)

VT: Your package arrived today and everything is great. I'm actually surprised you got mine before I got yours. I got kind of lazy and sent it out only a few days ago. I figured the delivery would have been delayed from all that has been going on. I'm glad to hear everything arrived fine. The only thing I didn't like was that I got bad luck on my gamble, the TIE Interceptor turned out to be the lighter blue version. No big deal it is one of my favorite AFs so I don't mind having another loose one. Maybe I'll hang it from my rear view mirror, I wanted to hang a Millennium Falcon but I've never gotten around to getting an extra one. I am very happy to finally have a loose Droid Control Ship, hopefully I'll soon be able to finish off my loose EP1 AF collection.
10-10-2002, 12:16 AM
today, at the same antique/indoor fleamarket in which i did a bit of out-of-season huntin (& sighted several of the things reported in hunt thred), there was a sw collectibles book- just published, judging from the ep2 toys featured. anyhoo i flip to the mm section & notice it was authored by a guy otherwise known as the one named in the title of this very thred :)
i Would offer him my congrats, except i'm too busy pouting cuz he Still hasn't made good on his half of the trade he & i arranged several Months ago ahem ahem ahem  :crazed:
10-10-2002, 12:53 AM
VT: Sorry it's taking so long to get them out to you. Everytime I think of it the thought of individually wrapping each one causes me to put it off. I will get them to the PO by Friday. Very sorry for the delay, you've been much more patient than I probably would have been.
BTW, was it the book or the mag you saw?
10-10-2002, 12:57 AM
don't mind me, i'm just makin sure you haven't forgotten :D book em dano :p

VT: I finally sent out your package yesteray so you should have it soon. I also included a lot of extra MMs for the long delay. Sorry about that.
10-16-2002, 12:27 PM
if that's the result, feel free to delay my pkgs anytime you want
10-16-2002, 12:35 PM
lol, I'll keep that in mind next time :)
10-16-2002, 11:59 PM
. . .in case he reads this dc might be interested to know that since i was goin by post orifice today anyway i Finally sent him his trade items (after waiting Forever to hear from him if there was anything else i could enclose to make the trade more equitable :crazed: ) :) re the hallmark control ship "mm", while i did impeccably drill a precision mm stand hole in the sphere's underside as requested, i left the hanging eyelet in the top so you can decide for yourself whether to remove it. i did from mine, and all it takes is a lil twist-pull w/needlenose pliers :)
btw, both the dc sebulbapod and the control ship will soon be very much in fashion (sebulbapod for halloween week and controlship in mid/late november (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=19946#post19946))- around here anyway :)
10-29-2002, 11:38 PM
meanwhile, i got s43's pkg :) 45 mm ships plus the contents of an sst pack (minus the tac fighter)! as per the trade i brokered between him & b'jr, here's the ship assortment (list cobbled from our emails, hence inconsistent caps :p):
swmm set 1 (tie int/rbr/isd)
2 Millennium Falcons
Stinger (bjr'll be esp. happy about these last 3, he digs dem shipz :))
2 Rebel Transports
Mon Cal Cruiser
Mon Cal Rebel Cruiser
Vor'Cha Attack Cruiser
Death Star II
Deep Space 9
Lars Family Speeder
2 non-hms Klingon BOPs, both different shades of green
2 DV TIE Fighters
but uh oh! cuz of our deal's complexity maybe he got confused & forgot to include a few other specifried items:
add'l TIE Interceptor
add'l Star Destroyer
trilogy 3-packs 10 & 11 (lars/ds2/t16 & ccity/home1/Xcape pod)
falcon from set 2
moncal from set7
ssd from set 9
but oh well, s43 did send along the following xtras:
outrider (sote paintscheme)
and 2 jabbarges :),
so i guess i can't bust his agates about the missin ones too much. of course, if he still wishes to send em along at some point in the future, b'jr'll still be happy to see em ;D
thanx agin, it been gray last week & snowy this week so it's been fun scrutinizing each of these afore i turn em over to b'jr
