I'll believe it when I see it. This is definitely alot of new product which doesn't seem like Hasbro. Hasn't been this much new stuff on a list since POTF2 first came out.;)

I am with Slick. I will get excited when official word is released. If I want rumors I will watch CNN or something. BTW I changed the name of the thread.

Wasn't there news from comic-con that hasbro is doing 56 new figures next year with there being a mix of new sculpts and re-packs??? and wasn't the waves that these figures are gonna come in named after certain battles from teh movies?? like the battle of geonosis wave and so on??? and didn't they confirm that the twelve inch line is over and that sideshow will be picking up that line?? In light of all this, I don't see how that the 'rumor' list can even be close to accurate.

NO NO NO!!! Read what RS says about this:

As officially revealed at Comic-Con last week, Hasbro will release a new line of action figures and toys that will bring the entire Star Wars series under a single banner. We've been bringing you the early info all week long, and now our Photo Archives is updated with a complete list of all the news and rumors about The Saga Collection in order to keep track of what is planned. Look for this section to be updated as 2006 approaches and more details are revealed. But if you want to play a part in the speculation, check out our Rumor List from 2004, and join the discussion in our forums.

This is a list of all the rumored figures that they heard about for 2004, and they wouldn't have all these figures in production for two or three years just waiting for 2006. Sorry to burst your bubbles, but this ain't gonna happen.

Thank you for clearing that up JJL. It seemed almost too good to be true.

It seems kind of pointless calling that a 'rumor list' - 'wishlist' would be more accurate as it includes virtually all the main 'wants' we collectors have and which we all know won't happen except over the span of at least 5 years!! And thats only if the line doesn't die an early death well before the end of Hasbro's hold on the license. So why call it a 'rumor list'. You might aswell add the really really really background characters like 'random human mos eisley denizen who walks on frame for 3 seconds in ANH' - we just about might get this figure if we can wait till September 2016!! "Guys check it out we really hit the nail on the head when we included 'random human mos eisley denizen who walks on frame for 3 seconds in ANH' on that rumor list back in 2004!!! We were 12 years out but dammit the rumor was true!!"

I wasn't slagging you off, its not your 'rumor list', you copied it from Rebelscum. I'm glad you posted it here. Sometimes new threads are scarce on these otherwise great forums. But I seriously think they should rename it 'wishlist' otherwise they might aswell put absolutely every character in the entire saga on the list and call it 'rumored'. They say 'if any of these characters are produced in the coming years they will be removed from this list' or something to that effect. They're allowing themselves quite a wide margin of error there - possibly years - yeah a lot of figures will get made over a few years and chances are your 'rumored' character will be among them - way-to-go. I'd be more impressed if they specifically confined themselves to one year and said 'these are the figures rumored for 2006'. See what I mean?

Mr. JabbaJohnL

I remember seeing most of these figures on rumor lists back in 2003, and obviously they didn't come into being then. None of these figures should be thought of as rumors for 2006, unless they appear on new lists. I'm just saying, don't get your hopes up for any of these figures, since this list's been around for quite a while. The only thing we can really go off of for next year is the Battle Wave thread, since a few of those waves have already been confirmed.

You can definitely count the 12" out. Sometimes these lists are fun, but it actually kind of boars me. Until I read a update from the Swami at GH, I'll keep clear of all this wish list crud. All it does is build up our hopes and always lets us down.

On another note, Hasbro was a huge Let down at the SDCC. I was thinking why did they even show up. They really didn't show anything that new and offered very little insight on what is to come. There should have been something like unpainted prototypes or 2-3 complete waves to show us what to expect from them. What we did see showed us that we can expect nothing but rehashes. I mean come on, we have seen carded pics of the shock Trooper on the net and they couldn't get one to show at the Con? What a joke.

I don't really believe what I read at this point unless it comes from Hasbro and is NOT a rumour. The thing is, you have to consider the number of reissues that are going to be mixed in with the new sculpts. There are going to be a good number of those...

They are ALL going to be resculpts or worse, repaints / recards because Hasbro is trying to keep the new collectors who only have ROTS stuff with "new" offerings:

This is what we'll probably (UNFORTUNATELY) get:

the Carkoon wave

Leia Boussh
Han Carbonite
Bib Fortuna
Barada
Boba Fett
Chewie in Chains

Battle of Hoth from Episode V will include 8 figures

Luke Snowspeeder (repaint POTJ)
Leia Hoth (kit bashed from POTJ Bespin Escape)
Han Hoth Saga repack
Snowtrooper POTF2 repack, maybe extra articulaton
FX-7 repack (possibly because of an FX droid appearing in ROTS)
Hoth Rebel Soldier - Saga repack, or possibly a better figure
Darth Vader "Hoth" repack
one good new figure?

Battle of Coruscant from Episode III will include 6 figures

Anakin - possibly new sculpt
Obi-Wan - possibly new sculpt
Grievous - possibly new sculpt
Battle Droid of some kind or Grievous' body guard
Mace Windu
Clone Trooper - likely white repack of #6 or #41

Battle of Geonosis from Episode II will include 7 figures

Anakin padawan - maybe Secret Ceremony retooled
Dooku - probably ROTS recarded
Yoda - probably ROTS # 3 recarded
Jango Fett - Saga removeable helmet recarded
Battle Droid or Geonosian
Padme Arena - possibly redone
Obi-Wan - new figure maybe or a E2 Mandalorian Clone Trooper

Battle of Tatooine from Episode IV will include 7 figures

Sandtrooper
Brea Tonnika
Han VOTC recarded
Luke Tatooine w. poncho
Obi-Wan Kenobi or a new Cantina Alien
Tusken Raider Saga Recarded
Jawa with a new little droid 2 pack (maybe the multi-arms)

Battle of Endor from Episode VI will include 8 figures

Luke Endor
Leia Endor
Chief Chirpa
Bikerscout
R2D2 Shield bunker
Moff Jerjerrod or Royal Guard
Emperor Palpatine
C-3PO Ewok Throne

Battle of Naboo from Episode I will include 8 figures

Qui-Gon
Obi-Wan
Darth Maul
Anakin
Padme / Queen
JarJar Binks
Battle Droid of some type
Gungan Warrior or Naboo Soldier

Battle of Death Star from Episode IV will include 6 figures

Stormtrooper
Darth Vader
Luke X-wing
Han Stormtrooper
Princess Leia
Obi-Wan Kenobi

I'm only buying figures I don't have in any form, if I buy at all from this list.

From here, we can hope for improvements once we learn what Hasbro really has planned.

The thing is, you have to consider the number of reissues that are going to be mixed in with the new sculpts. There are going to be a good number of those...

My thoughts exactly, JP. Based on the percentage of all-new figures we saw in the OTC collection (only 7/38 or 0.18), out of 56 figures in this run we should expect only 10 all-new figures. Any more than 10, and I'm going to be pretty happy, less than that I'll feel hard done by. We've already seen all-new Bib, Carbonite Han and Leia Boushh, which will leave room for about 7 more.

I'd love to see new basic figures of the Snowtrooper and Biker Scout, just for added articulation. A new Hoth Rebel Soldier and/or Commander would be in order as well.

I think Hasbro is finally clueing in to the demand there is for Imperial Trooper and Rebel Soldier variations - I would expect these battle-themed waves to go heavy on both.

I hope to see a couple of new Ewoks in the Endor wave, even if they're just repaints of existing Ewok figures with new hoods and accessories.

I don't see how the Tonnika sister really fits into a battle themed wave, but I'm still hoping she's coming out, along with at least one more new alien from either the Cantina or Jabba's Palace.

I am a completist so even background characters who are in the film for mere seconds are cool for me, so the posted by rebelscum sounds good to me. However, if Hasbro is going to release core characters, and we know they will, my hope is that they will give us all new sculpts. This is the time in which Hasbro can be our help and finally give us the line we have all be hoping for

Tycho
07-23-2005, 03:47 PM
I'm not hoping for ANY resculpts of figures they've done before, save for maybe 1 or 2 (certainly not 82% of everything released though).

But I think we're through with Jabbas with the Carkoon Wave - which we already have confirmed. Tatooine's Wave will be Mos Eisley / ANH figures.

That being said, of cool figures that have never been made before we may get:

1 new one from the Hoth wave
Maybe a new Anakin reculpt from the Geonosis Wave
Brea Tonnika from Tatooine
maybe another alien from Tatooine
maybe a sandcrawler droid from Tatooine
Luke Endor
Leia Endor
Chief Chirpa
Moff Jerjerrod
New Ewok
R2D2 Shield Bunker

And that maybe it in so far as "all new" figures are concerned. The rest of the 45 will likey be resculpts / re-releases like JJReason said.

Tatooine and Endor have the most to look forward to.

If they leave out main characters in these waves, we might get some new Jedi, Padme in a new dress, Rep Teers, one more cool Cantina Alien, Torryn Farr, Palpatine in a new outfit from ROTS, etc.

Hopefully this gets better as we learn more. I'm sort of hoping to save more money than anything else out of 2006.

Bahhhhhh I guess I should have counted the Post-OTC figures in with my math in the previous post. There were a good number of all-new figures in that lot (3 Cantina Aliens and the 4 Prequel figures) to go with the repacks. That brings us up to a much more respectable 14 out of approximately 50 figures, closer to 30%. That should give us hope that there could be as many as 16 or 17 new figures instead of just 10. If I could pick them, I'd pick:

Battle of Carkoon

Han Carbonite
Leia Boushh
Bib Fortuna
Sgt. Doallyn
Yarna D'al Gargan

Battle of Hoth

SA Snowtrooper
Hoth Rebel Soldier
Hoth Rebel Commander

Battle of Tatooine

SA Tusken Raider
Tonnika Sister
*First alien that pops his head up, I don't know the name or the species*

Battle of Endor

New Ewok
New Ewok #2
Han with Trench Coat resculpt
Luke with (removable) Endor Gear resculpt
C3PO with Ewok Throne

Battle of Geonosis

Bultar Swan, or another neato Jedi we haven't seen yet.
Aqualish Separatist (was their even one there? I know there's one in ROTS)

And that would do it I guess. These are just off the top of my head, and of course there would still be tons of figures I'd like to have (rebel pilots and technicians, too many Cantina and Palace aliens to name), but that would make 2006 a nice year for sure.

Ya, and I don't get the Q&A at all. Did they reveal anything in response to questions? I kept waiting to hear from someone who was there, telling us what Hasbor's reaction was to this or that question. It's sounds like their only answers were, "Maybe eventually. No plans at this time, but maybe in the future. Can't say right now." Or they referred to the information they did reveal in their presentation.

Don't ask me why, but I have a good feeling about Saga 2. I think Hasbro will/ has realize(d) who is buying the figures and cater to us a little more. In turn, I expect that the estimated 30% of all waves being new sculpts will continue

I just hope there will be someone on this forum to comprise the grand ole "what is a repaint, what is a repack, what is a resculpt" list. Once saga 2 is released, this list would be much appreciated. Just want to get this on everyone's mind right now.

It's on the forefront of my mind right now as well, TDV. I'll do the best I can to create a good list of this type for this collection. The old OTC drove me nuts, only a few of those repaints I worked so hard to track down were worth the effort.

You could call it "What sucks in 2006: a checklist."

by Hasbro

(you don't really want to take credit for this list do you?)

I'll eat my words if I'll want to buy at least something more than 15 or their 56 figures planned for next year. That'll mean they're new never-made-before characters though. So it's a safe position for me to be in.)

Well there's potential both ways. I believe though, that if we were getting a whole raft of brand new figures they would have had more to show at the Con.

And I'll take credit for a good list, Tycho, any day of the week! Lists are my favorite - but I don't want having made the list of the potentially crappy things held against me. Sound okay??? :D

They may be keeping their new product and line under wraps tho, look at the Internet Exclusive Wedge, they didnt put that right out there, they put the POTF2 one out there. So, Im thinking its gonna be a great year.
