I was watching MSNBC At The Movies some time ago and I thought I heard news of special edition DVDs of episodes I and II. Can anyone here confirm or deny this?

The ones we have now are the special edition DVDs of Episodes 1 and 2. Unless you mean the deluxe DVD Box Set of all six movies with new special features and stuff, but that's not coming out for another few years.

the only thing Lucas can do to make these movies special is to digitally remove young anakin and Jar Jar from TPM and the wooden dialouge between Anakin and Padme from AOTC. oh who am i kidding, these movies still wont be good. well, maybe TPM.

Unless they put out a PT box set then come back and later put out a Saga box set. I really hope they don't do that.

C'mon do you really think we will never hear, own the saga for the last time. I have close to four versions of the OT, the DVD, The SE VHS Widesreen, the new and improved pre SE editions on VHS and the original release of the trilogy on VHS. Oh wait make that five copies of the OT, have a bootleg of the SE on DVD.

Lucas will definately release the PT Trilogy on DVD in a box set and finally a few years later release the entire Saga on DVD in a box set. The only differences will be the packaging and another 5 minutes of unseen footage. :whip:  :whip:

I think Lucas should give us the fans the ULTIMATE DVD versions of the saga, all of the deleted scences re-spliced into the film, every unseen footage restored and re-added.

I personally don't think that many deleted scenes should be re-incorporated. I think that some should though, mainly the talk between Yoda and ghost Qui-Gon from ROTS, and the scene where Ani and Qui-Gon discover the probe droid and start running away, otherwise, it's kind of like, why the hell are they running?

I'm going to guess the 3d version will have some changes in it as well. That could likely be a(nother) version that is put out.

I personally can't stand the fact that they added all of the deleted scenes into TPM. I hate seeing all of the new podrace scenes every time I watch the movie.

Well I don't have a problem with added scenes.... just what they added. Why make that long painfull prerace sequence even longer and more painfull. Although I do like the few extra seconds of Rats Tyrell and family.
