You guys see this? http://www.starwars.com/community/fanclub/mag/news20050913.html
Looks good! Now I only have to find the one with Fox on the front..

3 different covers ? I hope I get the first one.

I like the idea of different covers. Keeps it lively. Does anyone know when this issue ships?

09-14-2005, 01:06 AM
"Starts shipping this week."

What a crock of ****. Not the first time they've offering the mag with alternate covers, but I never bought into it. I stopped collecting comics because of this kind of crap.

Plus its a nice little way of getting a few more bucks out of the hard core fan.

09-14-2005, 12:38 PM
I think it would be foolish to buy all the covers, no way I would ever do that. Meh.

09-14-2005, 10:00 PM
I have bought into this before. They had an issue out with two different covers, and I have both (I think), also TV Guide has in the past released issues with four different covers, and I bought them. Suckers are born every minute, so there are a ton of us out there!

I'm not a member, but I'l pick one up at my news stand. I'm sort of a Commander Bly fan. I think its going to be a great read!

I am a member of the SW Fan Club, got mine in the mail today, browsed through it, and it had cover #1 of 3. Don't know if that one will be available on the newstand.

I got cover 2 and I take it back, I WILL be buying a few extra copies because my little buddy made it into the Fan section ! ! ! :) :) :) It's the first one, "Revenge of the Sheets." One of my best friends and his wife redid their son's room in a Star Wars theme and it looks sweet, so he sent in some pics to Mary Franklin and they did a two page spread on it. :)

I'm buying 50 copies(family thing), but not becuase of the covers. There's supposedly a little story on my son Tyler(he's the little jedi who glad-handed with the creator at the 1st Q&A at CIII, after his eloquent "thank you" brought the house down. Mary Franklin dropped us a quick note that it would be in Bantha Tracks this issue. Because we have snail mail here in MD, I haven't received this issue yet. Can anyone confirm??

It is the very next page after my friend's writeup. Good job little Tyler ! ! ! :)

09-20-2005, 04:16 AM
WoW! Share the fame, my friend! I can't wait to se the Revenge of the Sheets article, too!

09-20-2005, 04:20 AM
Shall I scan Tyler's piece for you or do you want to wait for the issue in the mail ? :)

That's an awesome shot of Tyler with George and The Rick. Who took that pic, did you, Jon ? It's a GREAT shot. :)

09-20-2005, 03:17 PM
Thanks, but I'll wait & be surprised! AAARgh, nuthin' today in the mail!!! I'm not sure about the shot...I sent one to Mary Franklin with some copy(do they mention my name-Jon Oeschger???), but my photo was just Tyler & GL. They must have used one they had on file, cause Rick wasn't in any of my shots. Associated Press took the best ones, and put them out there almost immed. They were nice enough to send us an 8x10. But to answer your question, yes, I was allowed to go up to the edge of the stage(Steve Sansweet nudging me on!) My memory of this was...my legs were jelly, it was over so quick, it's Sept. & I'm still in disbelief. I've waited(like many) 28 years to even be in the same room as George Lucas. My son made this dream possible, it's a gift I'll never forget. I remember GL smiling down at me in approval, one dad to another. That's my strongest recollection.

Sansweet is a nice gent, I'll even say he's (san)sweet ! lol

The Rick is DEFINITELY in the shot, he is applauding your boy and his boss. Yes it did mention your name, as well as the lad's mother.

Would you believe I STILL haven't received this issue thru snail mail. My wife & I are dying to see the article on Tyler in Bantha Tracks!

09-25-2005, 03:18 PM
I picked it up yesterday at Barnes and Noble along with The Ultimate Visual Guide.

09-25-2005, 09:15 PM
I picked mine up at the store the other day also.
Pretty good issue.
But I couldn't help but notice the weird mistake...they accidentally put some OT coverage in there!

I would call the number that should be on one of the first few pages. I used it when I was getting double issues because they didn't realize when I renewed, that I was the same person. They are usually happy to et one in the mail to you!
