View Full Version : Troops DVD insert - ever see or make one ?
And if so, would ya mind sharin' with me ? ;)
For years I've had this Total Movie DVD with the Troops parody by that Kevin Rubio feller and I'd like to make a neat full size DVD insert with maybe the Star Wars logo on front with a few Sandtroopers and add Troops somewhere and then just something like "Star Wars Troops" down the
spine . . . you know, something to hang out with the rest of my DVDs. However, I lack a quality photo editing program so if anyone is ever up to the challenge of creating something along these lines
( *cough* RocketBoy made a delicious Musical Journey DVD insert and shared it with me *cough* :D )
I would be very thankful ! :) :) :)

Yeah, that'd be something I'd like to maybe possibly attempt...you know...if I had a copy of Troops on DVD...

A very early Work-In-Progress (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v468/Rocketboy78/DVD%20covers/StarWarsTroopsWIP.gif).
But I think I may change the big front and back images to something that would complimentMusical Journey (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v468/Rocketboy78/DVD%20covers/StarWarsAMusicalJourney50.jpg) one I did, with a Large Stormtrooper head on the front and another large full Storm/Sandtrooper image on the back...if I can find good images.
Hey, that looks great ! Not sure if this would be of use, but I dug out the original cardboard magazine insert from Total Movie, of course the Troops pic is bent  but I scanned it anyway and I'm sure you can touch up the creased image. :D
I dunno, maybe add it as a small pic on the back of the insert or somethin' ?

I wish I had a decent printer, I would try to make some customs inserts. Mostly, I want one for the parody "A Lost Hope", I have it on DVD and a spare DVD case, but no way to print out an insert. Bummer.

Imagine being in my shoes, I can make 'em, but I can't print 'em (at home anyway).
My printer cuts off the edge.
I'll have to either buy longer 8 1/2 X 14 paper or print them at school and pay a buck for 'em for the good quality paper.
BTW, What's "A Lost Hope?" I've never heard of it.

Another update (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v468/Rocketboy78/DVD%20covers/StarWarsTroopsWIP2.gif).
Not so sure about the new front cover. I like the idea of using the Stormtrooper face, but I'm not really digging the pic I found (the old THX release Stormtrooper head).

Here's A Lost Hope. (http://www.sequentialpictures.com/moviestarwarsepisode3.html) Very, very funny.
Gee, a big "thanks" to the ****in' nerds who made that, there's 6 and a half minutes I could have saved.

I think it looks cool ! The spine font is also clearer on the second version, at least on my comp screen that is. :)
I lack a quality printer as well, but for now I'm just making do. For example my printout of your wonderful Musical Journey insert isn't the greatest but I do have it saved so when that ability presents itself, I will print a better one. But what I have for now makes do. :)
Thanks again !

Hey don't shoot the messenger. You're the one that asked.:pI wasn't blaming you kid. I had just forgotten about that dumb piece of ****.
Or maybe I just repressed it?
I'm really trying to repress it myself . . . unfortunately, it's not working. :(

I tried playing around with things, but nothing really looked that good. So it's more or less done (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v468/Rocketboy78/DVD%20covers/StarWarsTroopsv3.gif). I'm not sure what else to do with it.
I'd be open to suggestions though.
Works for me ! That will be printed and displayed on my shelf. Thanks again, Rock ! :)

that looks really good, RB... but i don't know if you want to save it as a .gif image - gif's get really grainy when resized. what screen resolution is it set at, too... 300 dpi is best for printing... it doesn't look that big...

That is just a resized one I made so it would fit on photobucket.
The actual one is a much bigger file.
Caeser, send me a pm with your email (I don't think I have it anymore from last time) so I can send you the good one.
