It seems that the long wait may be over, and that the heroic patience of fans may be rewarded at last. Industry sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, have passed rumors on to us that Warner Home Video has begun projects to create multi-disc ("Season 1" or "Volume 1") in-order packages of each of these beloved animated series. But don't expect them right away! If things go well, we'll see them around the middle of the year.

As we said, this is a "rumor mill" post only, and is to be taken with a grain of salt. We will be keeping a sharp eye on these titles, and will post news immediately if we get anything more concrete. Please stand by!

I sort of figured that, with Superman and Batman being finished up in December, these would be the logical next steps for Warner. Somewhat expected, but good news nonetheless.

At the rate they're going, I suspect we'll have sets for Tiny Toons Adventures, Animaniacs, and Pinky & The Brain soon, with announcements for Freakazoid and Powerpuff Girls shortly afterwards.

Animaniacs and P&TB are supposed to be coming mid-2006 (date is July 25). Just like with the Beyond and JL sets, this is not set in stone.

...Animaniacs...Freakazoid

i would buy those in a heartbeat... i love both of those shows...

good to hear about batman beyond, as well. the show was quite enjoyable, as a stand-alone, or as an addition to the original BTAS.

Too late JT Lane, Chloe already looked up that link for me. :p

and just to stay on topic, season 2 of Batman Beyond and season 1 of JLU (assuming you count JLU as a different show than JL) are now available at a store near you.

Anyone know if there's a timeline available (either official or made by a fan with some common sense) that details the exact chronology of the Batman/Superman/Justic League/Batman Beyond series?

Geez, don't everyone jump in at once. :p

Saw these at WM this morning. I'm not as familiar with JLU, and a comment on the packaging intrigued me. So I'm fishing for a spoiler. What is the "shocking epilogue" about "the legacy of Batman"? My guess would be a certain black-and-red high tech costume, since it'd still be too early for him to suffer a heart attack, but it could be something else entirely. So, spoil me: what is it?

Batman Beyond Terry originally dies fighting crime, then time is changed and he lives, in a later episode, Terry and Bruce find out that Terry was the genetic son of Bruce, created by Cadmus' Amanda Waller who felt the world would always need Batman... here, just read this for more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_Beyond#Project_Batman_Beyond

Wow. That's one I didn't see coming. Not at all. Not sure that I like it, just from reading a description, but I've never seen a subpar episode of any of the cartoons in the "Batman Animated Universe," so I'll withhold judgment.

Exactly how different are the two versions of Return of the Joker, BTW?

I felt like they were able to bring some dignity to the Batman Beyond universe finally with that move, it tied in some pretty good elements and gave more purpose to a relatively cheap start for Terry.

I never saw Return of the Joker, but I've seen stills and writeups about the changes, they seemed totally unnecessary to me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_Beyond:_Return_of_the_Joker#Re-editing

I wish the JLU sets would be lower in price...I may just have to wait and ask for them as a birthday gift.
