Check out this article. (http://www.co.washington.or.us/sheriff/media/win_100k.htm) Talk about a thief and scam artist. Hope nobody here bought a Falcon from this guy.

Gotta give him credit for being original. He didn't do something stupid like rob a bank.

Yeah he must have gotten the idea from "Office Space." :D

Sign of the times I guess. Just a few years ago I could always count on walking into stores after Christmas and find a decent selection of sets on clearance. Lots of bargains to be found online too. Nowadays people snatch sets up and they soon appear on eBay or Bricklink at regular price or more.

Yeah, I noticed all the Falcons here also. I am glad mine was 25 bucks still.

In my younger years, I tried to walk out of a hobby shop with a large Millennium Falcon model. I wanted to pay for it, but didn't have the money. Fortunately I was intercepted by one of the store employees who I think was on to me.

Crime doesn't pay, if you get caught.

Speaking of thief, I was robbed. The Target Corp thought that putting the Millennium Falcon on sale for Black Friday at $49.99 would be great...I agree...but they put it online and it already is out of stock so I have to wait in line at the store like the big Star Wars Lego collecting loser that I am. :upset:

He was inventory admin.

LUGNET Update: (http://news.lugnet.com/mediawatch/?n=1988&t=i&v=a) Mr. Swanberg has been indicted by a grand jury. He is alleged to have sold $600,000 worth of LEGO through Bricklink in the last three years. Investigators don't have a total for his eBay sales yet. Oregon Target stores claim to have lost $200,000 worth of merchandise due to his theft.

This is a pretty sad situation. The guy's life is going down the tube because of toys! When he gets to prison, that'll be blood in the water. Lots of man-love for him. :p

It was in today's paper. A man was replacing the serial code numbers or something and buying 10 or more of the $100 Millennium Falcon sets etc. for a lot less and selling $600,000 worth of them on e-Bay.

It would figure. Some of you have seen this guy at your stores. He had computer maps on his laptop to all the Targets.

Wow,pretty good scam. Kind of stupid to buy 10 at once, probably would have gotten away with it if he only tried to buy one at a time.

I've been watching this story over on Lugnet as well as Classic Castle and a little on Bricklink. A few folks are pretty freaked out by all this. I've never bought from him on Bricklink, but have looked in his store a number of times. I just hope Bricklink doesn't get a bad rap because of this losers moronic antics.

I just went to bricklink for the first time. I happened to go check out the Star Wars mini figures for sale, $50-$100 for a Princess Leia mini figure!?!?!

In thought the basic 3 3/4 inch figures got expensive!:D

My local CBS affiliate ran a story on this bozo last night. There was some pretty funny commentary by the anchors after the segment.

Yeah, the real money is in legos, hasn't this thread taught you anything.;)

It's cheaper to buy figures in parts then as a whole. I just price the part of the white SW Leia and using the used parts average of the past 6 months she's $34.72. Looking at the whole figure, again average of the past 6 months, she's $44.39 used. It's even worst for new. Check it out. (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPriceGuide.asp?M=sw026) $100 for a mini-figure (and common one at that) is silly at best.
