Anyone planning on checking this out? I read the book a few months ago, and it was quite good. I'm not sure how well it will translate into a 2-hour film, but I'm interested in finding out. (With Walk the Line, Kong, and Narnia, though, it may have to wait for DVD.)

John Williams composed the score, and what I've heard is beautiful. It reminds me a lot of Seven Years in Tibet, in that "similar but not derivative" way that Williams is so good at.

I only wish they'd actually cast a Japanese actress as Sayuri, or at least a Chinese actress who looks Japanese. But Ziyi Zhang is absolutely gorgeous, so I can overlook this obvious mistake to see her in another film.
