View Full Version : Here's a trivia question...

This is in the Saga section for a reason that I'll explain in a second. Here's the question... What Star Wars character has appeared on every style of card ever produced? I'm talking about the 3.5" figures. I thought about this for awhile and I think I'm pretty sure I'm right. The reason why I ask is because I've decided (again) to stop getting all the indivdual carded figures after the ROTS line ended. It just seems like such a good stopping point.

Anyway, I decided I still wanted to get one figure from each card "style" starting with the Saga line. I though it would be a cool idea to get the just the same character on different cards from now on. I started to think back on all the card styles and what figure was consitently present and accounted for.

Last night I picked up the Saga version of him...

You could post your question up in here. It's the film trivia thread. (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showthread.php?t=25538&page=85&highlight=trivia)

And believe me. Alot of them are indeed trivial.

I my guess would be R2-D2 and his many different versions.

Are you counting Anakin and Vader as one character?

Yep... Thats what I think it is. I'm pretty sure R2-D2 has been on each Star Wars card style since 1978, not counting the cartoons.

Nope, I am wrong...R2-D2 was not on a Shadows of the Empire card.

The only thing it could be would be counting Anakin and Vader as the same and that would be the answer.

Your right about Shadows. The EU cards are in there too, but I don't officially count the non-movie themes. I'm one of those "if its not in the movie, it ain't Star Wars" types.

If you include the cartoon, comics, and books I don't think there is a common character.

If you count every card line, there is no answer. R2 comes closest, but wasn't in EU, Shadows, or the Ewoks lines. Obi-wan comes close too, but wasn't in the above mentioned or the Droids line.

My first thought was Han, or Luke. But I don't really know.

Yeah, I thought Luke immediately too. He's in both the SOTE line and the EU line. But then remembered that R2 is in the PT and has figures on those cards as well. You could also try 3PO too.

Yeah, Luke doesn't come close. He is not on the E1, E2, or Clone Wars movie specific cards.

Neither is R2

Luke is on the E2 cards, they're Saga cards (Saga 1) and there was Bespin Luke in that line.

Luke is on the E2 cards, they're Saga cards (Saga 1) and there was Bespin Luke in that line.

I remember, now...they had the movie title like the Saga 2 do except it was down the side, right?

Yes... well the Saga 1.5 cards had that down the side, the Saga 1.0 and 1.1 cards didn't, the movie title was on the front of the bubble with those.

BTW, Luke is the only figure to be on all POTF2-era cards: Orange Card, SOTE, Green Card, EU, Freeze Frame, Flashback Photo, and COMMtech.

Yes and Luke is now on a SAGA 2 card as well. So to answer the question it's Luke.

Luke was never on a CLone Wars card.

The correct answer is no one. Any PT character was never on vintage cards, and any OT character is not on Clone wars cards.

How about Obi? He was in the OT and Clone Wars card. Really the only characters in all six movies were Obi, R2-D2, C-3P0, and Anakin/Vader (not really the same charater to me.)

I'm not sure who wins the "most different card backs" award, but it probably R2 or Obi. I agree that no one was on all of them.

Obi wasn't on the SOTE cards.:upset:

It's a trick question of sorts. To have been on all card styles, it would have to be one of the original twelve. Of those, only Obi-Wan, Vader, R2-D2, Tuskens, and Jawas have appeared as more than a cameo in the prequels, so they're the only possibilities.

Of those, only Vader was on a SOTE card. He's also been on most of the card styles, but obviously not Droids or Ewoks, nor EU.

Vader was released in the original batch of figures, and reissued on every cardback style in the vintage line. He's also shown up in one form or another on orange POTF2, green POTF2 (with and without holo sticker, not that there's much difference), Freeze Frame (I think), Flashback, POTJ, Saga, OTC, ROTS, and now Saga II. Count Anakin as the same character, and TPM, AOTC, Clone Wars, and Clone Wars Animated are in the mix. He's not on all the Deluxe cards, though.

R2-D2 would be next: he was on a Droids card, but not SOTE, Clone Wars, or Ewoks.

Vader/Anakin was on SOTE but not on POTF2-era EU, only Luke gets that distinction.

R2 is on the most movie cards if you don't count Anakin and Vader as the same person (he only gets away with it 'cause Anakin geeser was on Flashback Photo while Vader was on COMMtech), and Yoda follows R2.
