Alright not too bad.

Lots of rehashes there.

But some nice new things. C-3PO with Diety chair was one of the first things to pop out at me.

Is that Chief Chirpa??

Also, is that the Death Star Gunner? I thought it was to be the Imperial Trooper (the one with the big bowl helmet). No matter, I'm a huge fan of the gunner if that's the case.

The ARC-170 transformer looks cool, though the guns are on the top side of the wings, when they should be on the bottom side...

The Unleashed battle packs look fantastic! Whoo-hoo, Hoth Scenes abundant. I'll be army building them!

Not too bad for a sneak peek. But really this looks like the majority of stuff anyway. And all of it we have known about for sometime. Hopefully there will be something new shown that we haven't heeard of yet.

It looks like Vader's TIE is about to get a re-release.

The Threepio looks like ROTS Threepio with a recast Vintage Ewok Village Chair. No matter... get me a couple so I can have a couple Threepios with silver legs. I don't think they will make them much better than that mould.

I think that is the Desth Star gunner. Nice job. Are they packing "tables" in with Momaw Nadon and Han? Kinda pillar-like... *shrug*

It looks like Jabba's Palace Luke is getting a reissue. Oh, well... no new sculpt on that. It's too bad that they didn't have the Episode I stuff out for display.

I can't be bothered with the rest of the junk.

Is that a Weequay reissue? If so that is kinda weak. Also trying to make out the paint scheme on the Jedi Starfighter. As much as I like the ship I don't really look forward to getting a fifth one. I hope there is more to see.

I could have sworn I saw Arcona mixed in there? Maybe not...You did indeed. He's set for release coming up in the near future.

And that indeed appears to be a new Ewok in the mix along with the Death Star Gunner and Diety 3PO.

And that frickin' Talz Jedi is ginormous!

I don't know what to say about any of this yet. The pics are too small for me to be the judge and to junp to conlusions. I wonder which ROTJ Han that is up near Boba Fett? It looks like it might be the one from the Pop-Up Jabba's Palace set...and POTF2 Weequay is in there too. And the infamous Saga Emperor. And what appears to be a carded sample of the new "Galactic Hunt" Silver figures-except it's only the foil card, and not the Shiny Anakin inside. The VOTC figures look much better than the carded pics of them made them look. I wonder if that Imperial officer is Moff Jerjerrod...it's not Veers beacuse he's not wearing black gloves. And that Vader Saber caught my eye--it looks like the old electronic one, but dosen't have a red blade sticking out of it. May just be a basic saber or something, though. Still can't believe the Lucas figure is using the Commtech Stormie's body instead of the VOTC Stormie. Oh well...looking forward to some bigger better pictures and coverage this weekend!

Hem Dazon, the Arcona, has been announced for a while and was revealed on the Hasbro site.

This looks great!

I never got Vader's TIE either time it was released, so this is good for me.

C-3PO with chair, Chief Chirpa, Moff Jerjerrod, Death Star Gunner . . . HELL YES!!!!!!

It looks like we're seeing the terrible 2003 Emperor again . . . oh joy.

What's the deal with that extra assortment of Carkoon figures in front of the Jedi Starfighter box? Han's up there and also down with his carbonite block; Boba looks to be the VOTC or TSC version; Luke seems to be the 2004 version (which is disappointing, since I wanted a DSII version); the Weequay from 1996; and the Lando from 2004. This is odd since they already had the Carkoon wave this year . . . maybe they're tacking these onto the Endor wave?

The packaging on the Vader saber is odd, but it's good to see some perenially available items.

Overall, a nice display.

Seems to me that I have seen both the DST and the DSG on the list for this year.

I'm not impressed with the display. Only like 1 wave beyond what we have already seen. I expect more from Hasbro.

Looks good to me, for a second I thought we were getting a shuttle re-re-release, but it was a TF. I like how they didnt show Han and Chewie TF's in robot mode, smart move Hasbro.

I think that the carkoon figures (boba, weequay, luke, han and lando) are for the upcoming demise of boba fett battle pack... what a waste! Wanted a sarlacc pit in that!

Hasbro's whined that they can't gold-paint C-3PO for the Ewok chair because the paint flakes if the knees are articulated. Solution: include 4 legs for C-3PO like the 4 arms with Luke Dagobah 2004. Right and left sitting and standing. Put on him whichever legs you need. They'll only be articulated at the hips.

Oh yeah. Almost certainly in fact because sure enough theres yet another Boba Fett. The weequay is the only figure in that set I really need. But I suppose I might find some diorama use for the spare Luke, Han and Lando.

Notice that they have Han carbonite on display twice - a bit stupid.

Theres Jerrjerrod though. looking like he may have an Ozzel coloured uniform. The ewok looks good as do the other new figures we'd already seen. The rest is rehash mania. I'm particularly disappointed at the Saga emperor rerelease. Wasn't the recent battlepack enough of a kick in the face?

Well...I hope this is a true sneak preview in the sense that there's more to see from Hasbro's Toyfair appearance than what's pictured here. Granted, pics are really small but...it's a pretty slim offering to entice retailers. Why spend any of your display on a group of ROTS figures from last year? (The so-called HOF wave...I'll comment on that in the appropriate thread) and the whole display seems a bit thrown together and clunky.
What's shown basic-figure-wise isn't news to those of us who haunt these sites n' boards, but it's still pretty uninspired. I can imagine retailers experiencing an uneasy sense of deja-vu viewing this collection of re-issues. Gimmicky chase packaging to collect? Creating an expensive POP situation (those VOTC figures) to obtain a FrankenFigure of George Lucas? Seeing a display of figures from a board-room induced shotgun wedding of a pegwarming disaster (the Transformers)?
It would have been wise to at least try and highlight the newer figures...as it is, I can see most retailers taking a pass at the whole thing with a "Haven't we carried this and clearenced it already?" attitude...
I'm hoping the fine photographers at SirSteve who attend the show can get some good shots of some of the new entries (some 360's of Cody, the FireSpeeder pilot, Chirpa and the other new figures would be cool).

Sorry about the rant but after seeing what the year has had to offer from Hasbro so far from these shots...and how difficult it has been to even get new figures...well, they are making it real easy to think long and hard about moving on with my collecting habits. Sideshow is already getting a large chunk of my change with each successive inspired offering and with less work than getting anything Hasbro is offering these days. Like I said in a post summing up last year...I hope Hasbro isn't letting the Star Wars collection which has served them (and us) so well over the years die with a whimper...the license and the fans deserve more...

and the whole display seems a bit thrown together and clunky. They almost always are. I dunno, maybe they only gave them 30 minutes to set this booth up  but you're right, it's not much to look at. (Wall board with hooks, some acrylic stands and a few quickly tacked up signs. Wheee!)

I used to do that sort of thing for a living, and I'm always amazed when I see a company like Hasbro -- a big company -- cheese out on the displays.

VOTC- Biker and Han look better out of the package, Greedo's decent but not very much more to see. The Tusken is unfortunately hidden behind them with his robe still closed and Luke looks like he's in need of a thigh master.

Basics- It's sad to see so many horrible rehashes. I wouldn't mind rehashes so much if they weren't the worst possible choices ever. We've got Han in carbo displayed with the figures twice as well as Yoda and Anakin. That's ridiculous. I count 40 figures with 22 being new figures if you count repaints (Utapau Clone) and holo figures (Ki-Adi). While that shouldn't be real bad, it's the horrible choice of those 18 rereleases.

Possible battle pack- That was really disappointing, I was hoping they were next to the VOTC because they were planning to make Jedi Luke, Skiff Lando and Weequay as the next VOTC figures. I'm so sick of Hasbro Toy Fair displays as it seems like they just dump the boxes on the shelf and stand'em where they land. No indication of waves or anything. Thanks.

The ARC-170 transformer looks cool, though the guns are on the top side of the wings, when they should be on the bottom side...

Not only that, but the top wing on the Shuttle is backwards.

Actually you can see them displayed inside their 2-pack box.

I'm thinking that the Han, Luke, Fett, and Weequay are for the rumored Demise of Boba Fett battle pack. The intial pics are too small, hopefully soon SirSteve will have some better pics up and then we can see what's up for 2006. The Jedi Starfighter looks to be Anakin's from the sneak peek series just in a new box.

That Unleashed Battlepacks Snowspeeder looks like they took the Action Fleet mold and put it in this line. Hopefully it still has its play features.

I love the pics - just another bang up job by SirSteve.

Is the Anakin carded figure an "UGH" example? There appears to be some gold foil around the logos - hard to tell if that's the flash though.

3PO, Death Star Gunner and the Utapau Clone are just blowing me away.... can't wait for those. R5 D4 on the other hand looks brand spanking new!

That's the way it is every year at ToyFair and Comic Con, remember? That's why we come here. There's web updates all year through (we haven't seen the rumored Luke Endor Gear, right?) and Steve posts pics of them when he gets them. The events are better for getting improved pictures and Q&A's answered - plus getting groups of friends from the site together at forums like Comic Con or SW Celebrations.

From the look of the Hoth Unleashed figs, it looks like the line is becoming the second coming of the old micro-figs collection, only with improved sculpts and playability. Although I personally won't be buying these, I can see the Hoth set bringing new life to the Unleashed sales.

Tagmac, what kills me about the Unleashed Battlepacks Playsets is that the Snowspeeder is from the Action Fleet line, I am pretty sure of this, and I suspect the turret and dish blaster are modified from the POTF2 versions... and they're STILL better than what we're getting in the regular 4" figure line. :crazed:

I knew they were rumored but I didn't actually think that Hasbro would make them since playsets generall don't sell well (at least at the inflated Hasbro price). I really like the weathered paint on the Snowspeeder as well.
