3" Vehicles, Ultra 6" Vehicles, and Figures, Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica (Steve didn't include the Transformers with the SSG coverage, I think he is putting it on figures.com instead)...

Toy Fair Titanium Series Coverage (http://photos.sirstevesguide.com/showgallery.php?cat=4714)

We'll be adding more as the show goes on. As you can see, Battlestar Galactica's Galactica is the only new 6" mold. I'll be honest, the 3" BSG vehicles are more exciting to me than the SW ones, so that's pretty excited!

No idea what the crazy new paint on the Falcon is about.

TIE Interceptor is the SW 3" I'm most excited to see.

I think it's the paint deco from Revenge of the Sith. Remember how it was included as an "easter egg" when Palpatine's shuttle comes in for a landing right after the Battle of Coruscant. I think it's supposed to be the pre-Lando version of the Falcon.

Agreed on the TIE Interceptor. Once that's released, we'll have the entire cinematic TIE fleet in the Titanium line.

Well, I had a feeling that the Gold Vader Tie was going to be a Toy Fair exclusive, and the picture just comfirmed it. Bummer, No chance of getting that one easily. There is already a couple on eBay getting massive bids. I really like the Interceptor and Battlestar Galactica ships.

The 6" Titanium "Action Fleet" Galactica starship from "Battlestar Galactica 2003" is awesome. Can't wait. The small Galacticas are great too. The never made before in this scale (3") Tie Interceptor rocks ! They're getting better and better.

I'm quite sure we will see the gold Tie in stores later...

It says "convention exclusive" so I don't think you can count out the Gold DV TIE just yet, I can't say for sure which else but I am pretty sure it's going to be at a general-audience convention this year, don't panic and order 'em off ebay.

I don't remember the Falcon looking any different in that scene, just same gray. Maybe this is a regular, non-modified YT-1300.

*Panic ensues*

DANG IT! I'M NOT MISSING THIS GOLD VADER TIE LIKE I MISSED THE CELEBRATION X-WING!!!

...though I do wonder WHY Hasbro lists an MSRP of $9.99 on their web site for it?

As for the 6" Galactica- I take it THAT is the NEW series' Galactica? It looks like poo...then again, I like the OLD Series' Galactica a LOT :p

TIE Interceptor=YES!!!

Blue A-Wing=YES!!! (I LOVE A-WINGS- mostly due to X-Wing vs. TIE- fastest ships in the fleet ;))

Luke on Endor Speeder Bike= NO! But oh well.

The wonky looking Falcon=Probably a limited one- like the Clone Wars Gunship I'll bet. I didn't see this ship in ROTS (Easter Egg, eh? Where *exactly?*) so yeah.

-Republic Cruiser with WASH on it? MIGHT be cool- that ship may benefit from a detail paint wash...we'll see. Glad to see it back, though :p

I wonder what Wave (waves?) these will all be in?

Variation list update will be COOL this month (on or about 2/22 :))

Because at other conventions they'll probably be selling it for that price, otherwise they wouldn't mention a price at all probably. A lot of "probably" in there, I know.

Yeah, that's the new Galactica, and I think it looks decent, just different, not "worse" unlike SOME people who can't accept CHANGE ;) plus it can withdraw the side pods, can the original? NOOOO! :D

Personally, I have to say I like all the upcoming SW Titaniums- except the figures. Mostly I don't like them because it's just like the unleashed stuff, they look cool but the price is too much for me to justify it. Especially since these are much smaller than the Unleashed...

Though that 501st one will be very tempting. >_<

Hopefully that blue A-wing will lead to further concept and EU paintjobs. I'd like to see a titanium A-wing in the green paintjob!

Nice to see though that while they're using repaints they're also making new much needed ships like the Interceptor. I wonder if we'll be getting a Biker Scout and Leia on the speederbikes.

I'm really disappointed though, I was hoping to see the StarGate titaniums. :(

We already have a Biker Scout on a speederbike. That's the version currently in stores. They also have a speederbike w/ Leia on display at Toy Fair. So we'll have all three in the end.

Hopefully the Gold Tie will show up somewhere for the general public or it'll be another one I missed. The Sith Infiltrator is slightly different with some battle damage, so that will be cool. I can't wait for the BSG ships, I hope they make the modern fighter as well. What is that yellow ship off to the left of the Mace fighter? Is that a Thundercats ship?

I'm really excited about the new STAR WARS Titanium ships. I hope that the stockers at stores don't put the Galactica ships on the same pegs as the Star Wars ships. I'm only interested in the SW ships.

If we're lucky... the Gold TIE will show up on "shop.starwars.com," or on "hasbrotoyshop.com."

What is that yellow ship off to the left of the Mace fighter? Is that a Thundercats ship?

That's the Transformers' ship. The base is the Autobots' symbol.

For some reason I always thought the one that was already released to be a clone trooper on speederbike. Weird, I even picked 2 up yesterday. Noticed Leia awhile after posting as well, glad they'll have'em all out.

I hope they don't either. Then the Star Wars Scalpers might miss them. I for one will be looking for these. Battlestar Galactica is my favorite series currently on TV. It really IS riveting to watch. I hope they do more ships from the current series as well as the old series.

OMG, would you look at that BSG stuff! And an Ultra Battlestar, didn't see that one coming. I can't stop looking at it, I need it!

The new SW stuff looks great, good the see the Republic Cruiser with a slightly improved paint job. TIE interceptor is great, as are the new Jedi Fighter re-paints. And that A-Wing, dribble!

Not fussed on the Gold Vader TIE, I'd pay the retail price for it, but not silly scalper money, just because its a convention only ship isn't reason enough for me to get it.

Well, I broke down and just bought the 4 Wal-Mart Packaging Wave 4 ships from a guy in Hong King for $100...but at least I'll have them.

I hope I don't miss this Gold TIE, either (the Gold Celebration 3 X-Wing is proving difficult enough to find as it is)- and with any luck, since Hasbro went through the trouble to make a package for this TIE, we WILL see it later at SWShop.com or something...

I need 2...

Hey Steve or any Toyfair Dwellers- I'll take one in a trashed package or opened since I need one to open :D

I agree, the evidence that it will be a store item is there.

1. The Hasbro site list it as having an item number
2. There is a retail price listed
3. They are showing it in a retail package.

None of these three things applied to the gold X-Wing that was at CIII which was in a simple clear bag.
There is no reason that Hasbro would spend the money & effort to do all of this to an item that would just be a handout to wholesalers.

Seriously, I hope for more (not with ya honey 6, let me breath), a 6" (no honey, I dunno say six...) Viper and Raider will do it for me. A 6" (shut up...) Basestar would be cool too. ;)

Anyway, the BSG Galactica is awesome. I know some of you toy makers involved in this are lurking here from time to time, all can I say is "congrats!". This is a toy I've dreamt of. :D

It's a shared exclusive, more than 1 convention will have it, it'll be at a regular-folks show too, not just Toy fair. But it *is* an exclusive (tho' I wouldn't be surprised if the fan club store sold it too).

Battlestar Galactica is simply THE best sci-fi show series in years.

It is character and story driven as opposed to action and special effects (although action and effects are superb).

Unlike the feel of the 70's show, you really get the feeling that the humans are being incessantly hunted and manipulated and as such the show manages to convey the tension of the constantly hunted cast.

It seldom has a happy ending and deals with very current hard hitting themes such as terrorism and religious extremism - it is never afraid of dealing with its subject matter head on.

As such, it requires an adult approach to watching sci-fi (wouldn't let my 7 year old bot watch it) and the pre-requisite of having an informed brain in your head to fully understand it.

If you want formulaic sci-fi with a happily ever after feel as the heroes head off into the golden sunset, stick with Star Trek (ain't slagging it off - I do like it!) - for a more engaging inteliigent show that will often suprise you and excite you, stick with BSG.

To take all the sex out of the new BSG it would also require them to cut out the space battles. ;)

But, I wanna see the frickin Stargate Titaniums!!! :p

It seldom has a happy ending

Like another Sci-Fi show that got canned- anyone else remember "Space: Above and Beyond?" That show was 1/2 way decent except the endings were always ALWAYS downers- and that kills Sci-Fi shows...

I still think Farscape and Babylon 5 are both THE best Sci-Fi series ever made! Farscape for the "Space Opera" of it all, THE best onscreen Sci-Fi romance EVAR (John and Aeryn, of course ;)) and the irreverant "Aussie" feel to it. Babylon 5 for a compelling vision of the future and for its grand, multi-level story- and for Delenn- arguably the strongest female character ever presented in a Sci-Fi TV show...

Kudos go to Firefly, too...long may Serenity be hauling illegal goods (Serenity- now there's a ship I'd LOVE to see in Titanium...I wonder if Hasbro could do a "Titanium Science Fiction" line- complete with Stargate, Firefly, Babylon 5, Farscape- whatever their marketing dept. could get their hands on...that'd ROCK!)

But then, that's me.

Anyway, I am glad to hear that the Gold Darth's TIE won't be exclusive to ToyFair 2006...they're selling for a LOT on Ebay and I do so dearly want two- one to open of course :p

I bet Hyperspace members of the SW Fan Club will be able to order them on StarWarsShop.com...which means I might have to renew my membership and join the club again for the first time since before AOTC premiered.

Here's to hoping!

As for all this Number 6 and sex-talk...WHAT? CYLONS SHOULD HAVE ONE RED EYE THAT GOES BACK AND FORTH- OCCAISIONALLY ONE SHOULD BE COLORED GOLD AND NOT SILVER- they shouldn't be having sex...esp. with humans.

This new series sounds like what Babylon 5: Crusade could have been, if J. Michael Stracynzki (SP) gave in to TNT and made the show full of gratuitous sex and gore- but he didn't give in, and Crusade was cancelled long before it's time.

Then again, Crusade was D&D in space (you had a thief, a warrior, a mage, etc.) so maybe that's what killed it.

Who knows?

The new Battlestar Galactica might be the best science-fiction show I have ever seen because it is so real. Other than the ability to utilize FTL travel, nothing about BSG sounds outrageous to me. They use missiles and shell-based ammunition rather than lasers or anything like that. The clothes they wear, their mannerisms, their behavior - the humans on the show seem just like us, which was always part of the intention of the original series, that there was a connection between us and them.

The characters are real and so far from perfect it's beautiful. The dire nature of their situation is palpable, unlike the original series; the miniseries' depiction of the Cylon Apocalypse was truly harrowing and scary.

I like the innovation in the show, as well. The fact that Raiders are actually alive is brilliant, and makes sense to me - if the Cylons are machines, why would they need pilots in their ships? The pilots would BE the ships.

It's definitely intelligent science fiction, which is an unmitigated positive for me. I like shows that require the viewer to not just have their brain unplugged for 60 minutes. There is subtext and subtlety aplenty.

As far as getting rid of the sex goes...if you can't talk about sex, or see sex, or feel comfortable discussing sex, I can't imagine it's easy to get any, or that the sex you get is any good, so my sympathies. *grin*

What happened to this thread. :pleased:

Strike me down as another BSG fanatic. I just love it. The last Ep in the US where the Pegasus opened fire with her forward guns was a particular highlight.

Its got a cohesively designed universe, it may lack the wow factor and scale of Star Wars, but I find myself immersed in it none the less. I've heard people whine and whine about the fact that theres phones with cords, and bullets, and other rather clunky tech, but I find it refreshing that the crew don't construct a dynosubimpulseablativeborgdrivequatumtransporter once a week to defeat forehead-ridge-alien-flying-in-a-ship-that-looks-similar-to-the-one-in-the-last-ep.

Its about humans, flaws and all, they've faced some tough calls, not everyone has made it so far and I'm sure many more will be lost, they face a grim reality in the cold of space, coupled with the shock of a holocaust beyond our imagination. If that doesn't make gripping drama I don't know what will, it sure keeps me tuned in, whereas Yoyager with its Seven Catsuit titilation for example didn't.

Yes theres sex in this new BSG. Some of it is not sex for the best of reasons, many of the crew are rather messed around in the head. But hey, that is humanity of today is it not, we all do things we are not proud of, we hurt people we wish we had not have hurt, we fall into bed with the wrong people at the wrong time and we don't always make the right calls.

I suspect many don't like BSG but it shows maybe we as a race are on a similar road to the 12 Colonies of Kobol, and that the endless struggle of humanity has not always been pretty, or something to be proud of. But we go on nonetheless.

As the old man himself said in the pilot/mini-series; "Sooner or later the day comes when you can't hide from the things that you've done anymore."

I urge anyone who has passed BSG by the give it a go really. I could go on at length about the coolness of the Vipers, the Galactica herself, the Raptors, the Pegasus, but that would take this thread way out to the red line, so I won't. BUT I NEED THAT ULTRA GALACTICA!!! :D

I think that any die-cast ships/vehicles from science-fiction movies or series would be cool. I would love to see die-cast from Alien, Starship Troopers, 2001, etc. Even Star Trek ships have yet to be made into any significant series of die-cast. Though the Johnny Lightning ST were excellent, they were plastic (I bought them all anyways) I am happy that Hasbro is making the BSG ships. I hope they do more from the original series as well as more from the new BSG. There are alot of ships to be made and I will buy them all
