Hello again :)

Update time!

Here's the definitive list of the 3" Titaniums as of 2/26/06- minus the obvious Date Stamps from the Galoob Line and such :) I am also making this list for those that are curious about the ships as compared to the old Die-Cast line.

This list covers Wal-Mart Exclusives Waves 1-4, the first 4 5-packs, and MASS RETAIL Edition Waves 1-5 AND Toyfair 2006 ships that were pictured.

If I miss anything, let me know :) This will be ordered for the Titanium Series in their respective wave- the Galoob counterparts (if any) will be mentioned :)

Just for reference's sake I don't own some of the new ships so I don't have all of the variant specifics yet (namely the 3rd 5-pack with the Raw Metal Falcon) but I have seen pics of some and know the repaints/variants.

A word about the Titanium Series painted logos...

So far I have seen pics of one on a Wave 1 Republic Assault Cruiser and that's it. I have read enough reports of them being on the White TIE Fighter that I believe them, too. I do not know where they would be on a Speeder Bike, Clone Turbo Tank, Death Star or on Jango Fett's Slave 1. Until such time these variations are confirmed they will NOT be listed!

The paint lines at the end of the variations refer to the words "Star Wars" on the stands- either Rainbow Silver, Silver or None.

LEGEND:

Wave X WM EXCL Edition= Wal-Mart Exclusive release packaging with STAR WARS being prominent. There were 4 waves- the last Wal-Mart wave with the Wookie Flyer, Green Jedi Star Fighter, Naboo Royal Starship and Battle-Ravaged Millennium Falcon was NOT widely released in the United States but it was released overseas (Hong Kong, Singapore, English-Only packaging) and in Canada (with Tri-Lingual packaging)

Wave X MASS RETAIL EDITION= Mass Retail release with the brand TITANIUM SERIES being prominent and Star Wars being secondary. The bubble packaging is larger and the ships can be found anywhere. To date, 5 Waves have been released.

THIS LIST IS NOW IN ORDER OF RELEASE AND WAVE!

To make things easier on everyone, here is a list of the Waves the Titanium Series Ships first appeared in for the modern release and when they were released (roughly). The numbers correspond with the variations below, and the numbers "**." indicate that the ship mentioned was either released in a previous Wave or is a repaint of another ship from another wave.

Someone forgot the 4th member of that wave, Anakin's Podracer.

Oh yes JT, you're right. Looked pretty cool but will surely be a poor seller (as was the Sebulba's one made in 1998/99).

I don't remember Sebulba's selling poorly here, but then again there was a lot of marketing problems with that line so I wouldn't be surprised either. I really wanted Anakin's Podracer though, it would have gone great with Sebulba's.

02-27-2006, 05:40 PM
Well, I'll add Anakin's in there, too...

Were their any others that were prototyped?

(I still hope we see a Star Destroyer in the Ultra 6" line...:p)

JediTricks

None that I know of.

Yeah, the Star Destroyer mold would be great completed and done in metal, same with the Ep 2 Jedi Starfighter and the coruscant speeders.

I am surprised AOTC doesn't have more ships made for it- out of all of the Star Wars movies, it has the LEAST amount of representation in the 3" Titaniums Line (both produced and unproduced protos).

A metal AOTC Jedi Starfighter would be most *DROOL* :p

I want an AT-TE too, dang it!

yea i noticed too.

imo i would like an AT-TE and the AT-ST!

I'm really surprised they haven't announced Dooku's solar sailor, I dug my AF Sailor out recently and without the sail it's the same scale as the die-cast ships. Also surprised they haven't used the AF Clone Transport thing for Titaniums, it's not like theres alot of detail they'd have to remove for scaling it down. :p

i think they did quite a good job with the AT-AT, considering how large it is.

(38) B-Wing Fighter

HASBRO MOLDS THAT EXIST IN TITANIUM SCALE THAT WERE PROTOTYPED BUT NEVER RELEASED THAT HAVE NOT BEEN ANNOUNCED AS JOINING THE "TITANIUM SERIES" LINE:

woo hoo! Just opened up my 6" Titanium Slave 1 and looking thru the list of the 3" vehicles............. B-Wing Starfighter! It will be in die-cast after all. Except for Leia and Luke on Speeder Bike, others are just repaints and would love to have Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter though.

Looking forward to 3" Battlestar Galactica series too: Cylon Raider, Colonial 1, Raptor, Battlestar Galactica, Viper Mk VII and Mk II.

Heh- COOL! Is the Slave 1 metalized better than the Action Fleet one? I wanna' know...

Otherwise, yep- a Die-Cast B-Wing would indeed rock!

There's a good chance that since they made a CW Gunship they could make Mace's Starfighter as seen in the CW series, too. After all- why release only one ship from the cartoon when all it will take to make a new one is some purple paint?

I do wonder what Hasbro plans next after the Toy Fair 2006 models have all been shipped...

I want an AT-TE too, dang it!Ep 2 was when LFL and Hasbro were afraid that Ep 1's overproduction of licensed crap had pushed the market too far, so LFL and Hasbro each scaled back on what they produced and unfortunately it turned out to be too little in some cases. The Ep 3 stuff is getting more coverage right now because the movie is still fresh, the OT and Ep 1 stuff is getting coverage because the tools are already done and paid for by Galoob, so Ep 2 is currently the odd man out.

I'll start a thread about Ep 2 3"ers right now.

AF is definitely better! I tried to open the Titanium Slave 1's cockpit, it's stuck. Dunno if it is glued. Am I the only one having this problem? If it is meant to be glued, why is there a hinge and rubber band over the cockpit?

There is no compartment for Han's Carbonite. The only movable parts are the rotating guns and flaps.

The introduction of the casing is a good idea. As much as I prefer Hasbro to maintain the original AF stand, I dont think it can hold the weight of the die-cast vehicles. By the way, the AF stand itself cannot hold the weight of AF Millennium Falcon. Mine just gave way last week at the about 8mm from joint to the vehicle :(

SAD! Did your Falcon survive?

I do wonder if Hasbro is going to re-package/re-market the Ultra X-Wing or Republic Gunship with the cases. My Gunship has a hard time with the stand (even though I DO like the stands better than the cases) and it'd be nice to have those 2 ships in cases to go with the rest of the line...

We'll see.

If there's a clearband around the cockpit, I am pretty sure that means it's meant to be open. Check the seam between the canopy and the hull, maybe some of the paint hardened over it or in the seam perhaps.

So, if the carbonite containment section is gone (BIIIIG mistake, this would have been an awesome inclusion, put that and do a metal version of the carbonite block it originally came with), is it just sealed up? And do the guns now rotate freely?

Thanx JT, you are right. The Slave 1 do have opening cockpit after all. New mold for the Boba Fett. It's a one piece plastic, non-movable arms and legs and glued to the seat.

With no carbonite containment section, the guns do rotate 360 degrees freely.

Warstar
03-02-2006, 05:05 PM
Huh...

The Slave 1 still screwed into the base? Probably. Do they have an alternate peg/screw hole to display the ship in the upright position? (This would entail leaving the clear plastic dome off, I assume...)

Glad I was able to figure that out for ya. Does it mention whether it opens on the packaging? I know Hasbro is dicey, sometimes missing features entirely (the 3" line has this all the time) and it's easy to overlook.

That's really interesting about them mounting a new figure in the cockpit, that and the rotating guns may sell me on this piece - heck, I wanna get it just to take it apart and see what they did inside. :D

I found the variants of the Imperial shuttle and the CW Gunship, I'm glad they repacked them like this the Shuttle looks a ton better than the sideways posing. The Gunship is alot better than the previous posing since it's not just sitting in the plastic but looks like it's in an attack dive.

I really hate opening this packaging though...it's horrible with the tabs glued between the layers. >_<

-ah, their ongoing attempt to design packaging that's attractive & inexpensive to assemble yet discourages tampering by making any attempt as visible as possible; of course, any lock can be picked by the right thief (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showthread.php?p=452901#post452901)
