View Full Version : Anybody still finding EP1 figures at retail?

I just throw this question out to satisfy my bored curiosity. Has anyone seen a decent amount of EP1 figures still out in retail stores? I haven't seen one figure since maybe early last fall when TRU had some stuff on clearance. Just curious to know if any are appearing now and again or if the only place to find them is online.

There is this bin at the very back of the action figure aisle-thingy at TRU. In there are E1 figures, Tatooine Mauls mostly. There on sale for $1.97 still, and word has it that the store still has E1 cases in back, collecting dust.

$1.97 is almost tempting to buy an E1 figure, but alas, I don't have any E1 toys.

You don't have ANY Eposide I toys? I saw an Anakin Naboo Pilot at Wal-Mart the other day. I'm not sure where they might have dug it up from.

The TRU to the north is pretty cleaned out, but the one to the south has 16 pegs of Collection 2 (Watto, Nute, R2, Droideka), and the surrounding shelf space is filled with vinyl Qui-Gons and Obi-Wans. Not to mention the 19 Split-Apart Mauls they still have.

I never saw anything past the Panaka wave, and that hardly stayed around.

I haven't seen a large collection of Ep. 1 figures since Christmas. The local KB had a fresh case. I went through it and picked up a destroyer droid. I returned the next day, in hopes of finding the figues on the pegs somewhere, but didn't.

I saw a single Ric Olie, lying under a few pegs full of the Shmi/Obi-Wan Wave at Wal-Mart. Poor Ric, nobody likes him.

I like him. Could use a few more of him for a diorama I'm working on.

I still run across a few figs from the soft goods waves.

One TRU near by has a bin full of Tatooine and Soft Goods Mauls.

I am still convinced that the Sio Bibble wave will show up at TRU for $1.97!!!

I said the same thing about Swimming Jar-Jar, and eventually found him for $1.97!!!!

I saw one of the original Qui-Gon's at my K Mart not too long ago. It had a clearance sticker on it.........marked 4.99.
Most stores couldn't get rid of those at $2....

I find them now and then at different stores but nothing worth buying. I try to find ones that I can customize. Haven't been to lucky so far.

Yep, I'm finding EPI and POTF2 at retail, but at places like Longs Drugs and Rite Aid drug stores here in my town. Pricing is high like KB's, that's why they've been not only warming the pegs, but melting them.

I found a MOMC JarJar .01 card variation at K Mart about a month ago at the back with all the clearance crap. If it was MOMC it leads me to think that they were pegged recently or its because it was JarJar:)

Wow! I'm really surprised to find out how many stores still have them around. In my local TRU (Orem, UT) they had a bin for a while with nothing but Adi Gallias for $1.97. I remember when that wave first was released and people were fighting over her. A few months ago you could have gotten three for the price of one when it first came out. But then again, who needs an Adi Gallia army?

The only figures I ever see are the first two Darth Mauls released.

The only place I have seen any Episode I figures on the pegs is at the TRU in Euclid, OHIO. It's no surprise since that store is such a trash pit.

Nute Gunray out the wazoo! Every TRU in my area has tons of them. Even at $1.97 they can't get rid of them.

In the east of England there is a local chain called Kerrisons who still sell great deal of EP1 stuff. Recently I have picked up a lot of figures for 99p ($1.42)each, including all battle droid variations on US cards. For a small chain they really do have a wide variety of SW toys, a damn sight more than the local TRU that stopped stocking anything after the initial EP1 craze died down. Never mind, maybe they'll redeem themselves on April 23rd......

Must be nice....I'd love to find a bunch of pegwarmer Episode 1 figures now......

especially at $1.99 I'd be able to knock a sizable dent from my collection.........

although I'm sure I wouldn't be able to find ALL that I needed.....

So, TRU still has unopened cases of E1 stuff in some areas?

maybe I should get friendly with my local manager.......might get lucky on some rarer finds.........

I saw 1 Ric Olie today at Magic Mart.

Saw a few Jar Jar Binks, Sebulba, Annie Cinema scenes at KB Toys a few weeks ago.

And my Wal-Mart has a few 12in Maul Speeders, and a few other Ep1 12in. figs (forget which characters)

A K-Mart I was in the other day had about 20-30 left, but were still selling them for about $5

I know a couple of Rite Aids that have three lines of Star Wars toys selling (POTF2, EP1, and POTJ). They have some POTF2 Gamorrean Guard, a Saelt Marie, an EP1 Valorum, and some figs from the Luke X-wing POTJ wave. For $7.99 apiece, they aren't going anywhere soon.

At the Super K-Mart I work at, they just put out 4 cases of ep1 figs:confused:
All of them are D.Maul Tatooine, Anakin w/cloak, and Obi-Wan w/cloak.

I've still see plenty of these figures for sale in retail stores...some for $12.99 others for $15.99 and then others for $1.00 CANADIAN. That's right, they're selling for about $0.40 US up here in Canada.
