It is Jenna Fischer's "mockumentary" type movie and I love it, I highly recommend it. It won the Tromadance award but I never heard of it since I'm not really into Troma (her husband / costar did LolliLove with her and he's a Troma alum, hence the connection) but anyway it came out on DVD 3 months ago and I think it's hilarious. And worth its own thread for me to plug it. :) I should have started a thread 3 months ago but it's better late than never, I think that's the saying? lol

What is it about?

Jenna wants to do something for charity, something different and more worthwhile, so she comes up with an idea for giving Lollipops to the homeless...her husband "helps" her with the project and the film is a documentary of their efforts. Good stuff. lol

At times it comes across as pretty harsh :D but it's really just a satire and pretty clever at times (IMO  ).

This would also be a good place to discuss films that don't need a thread dedicated to them, like Lollilove ;) , j/k Caesar.

Oh yeah?

Well then, let this thread serve as our catch all Office Thread (U.S. Version) as well. :) Continued from DQ's SWC thread...http://www.swcollecting.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=262&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

and you can also preorder Dwight's "Dwight Schrute" bobblehead...

Getting closer now, they are scheduled to start shipping July 20th ! :)

----------------

So as I mentioned in another thread, I recently marathoned all of season 1 and then again with commentaries, not to mention the deleted scenes. Anyway, season 1 is fresh on my mind and today at work I had a vision of Dwight at the basketball game when he pulled off his shirt and said "we'll be skins." lol The way he walks around as he says that just cracks me up, I keep thinking about it. lol The face guard doesn't help, either. :crazed:

Heh Heh. Sounds good. :D

I still haven't ordered that Schrute bobblehead. I actually forgot about it. Did you order one Cae?

Hey, you just reminded me. I too have watched the season one episodes with commentary.

Nope, I didn't order a b'head and I'm not sure yet if I will. I do want one, of course. :D I am however in the market for a Dunder Mifflin baseball cap so if you see any, let me know. During the LolliLove behind the scenes look at TromaDance, Jenna Fischer is wearing a black Dunder Mifflin hat and I think it's hilarious...but I can't really find them anywhere? NBC.com doesn't have anything official and I found an international website that looks to be selling some nice bootlegs but I don't really know where to get one.

Was this the international site you were talking about? click me (http://www.comboutique.com/shop/custom_t_shirt-4686-88753.html)
That is a pretty sweet hat but I'll keep lookin around.

Yup, that's it. :D Hey what currency is that, is it the Euro? I'm ignorant.

I wonder if I could just copy that logo and make my own through CafeExpress or whatever the hell it's called ? ;)

Another tidbit for you UK, and this will link LolliLove with The Office again (;)) but in watching season 1 again do you remember Pam saying "I do illustrations" (and then they show her with White Out :crazed: ) ? Well, when you watch LolliLove there will be a series of, ahhhhhhhh, illustrations at two different points in the movie and the credits say "Illustrations by Jenna Fischer" and they talk about it in the commentary as well.

So I have to believe that line was an ad lib by Jenna Fischer but I could be mistaken. :)

I'm pretty sure is pounds.

Yea, you could definitely make your own through Cafepress. My friends' band makes their products through Cafepress and they are really well done. Good quality and what not. That's definitely an option for you.

I do remember Pam saying she does illustrations but I dont' remember the white out. Guess I didn't notice. :crazed: Thats cool though, very interesting tidbit indeed. I should have Lolilove here very soon. There are a few movies I gotta watch and send back to Netflix before that one comes.

Nope, no relieving, you'll see why I dance around the term "illustrations" soon enough. :crazed:

Well now that I look at it again, that does look like the Pound sign, eh? Not sure what I was thinking, sorry. :D

Were you able to check out last nights Office episode Cae? It was proably my favorite one from last season, if not both seasons. It's the one where Michael steps on the Foreman grill and when Dwight goes to get him, he crashes into the pole and messes up his head. Michael and Dwight owned the episode and they both shined throughout. The whole ep is just non-stop hilarity. This one got erased from my DVR somehow but now I have it back and I'm going to make sure it stays put until the dvd release.

Oh yeah, it's called "The Injury" and I've watched that one probably 5 or 6 times. I love it. :D Ryan's look when Michael is calling over the speaker phone for Ryan to bring toilet paper is classic, not to mention Pam's "no, I did not tell them that you cooked your foot." lol

Dwight puking on the car, WTF? :D And then Pam again with, "Oh my god, I'm sort of friends with Dwight."

I'll probably catch hell from some people for saying this, but I finally checked out the BBC Office last night on Netflix. I started disc 1 and watched about 4 or 5 episodes...then I promptly went online to remove the remaining discs from my queue - I just don't like it much. :( I was hoping it would be even better than the American version but I can't get into it. Ricky Gervais is pretty good in it but that supporting cast is lacking, IMO. Lucy Davies from Shaun of the Dead is good, though. ;) Anyway, I'm sure some purists will take me to task but I don't care, I just don't like the BBC version very much. lol

Don't you mean "Pan". lol I know a Russian site where you can download songs for 2 cents.... but their all in Russian. lol

If I remember correctly the same thing happened to me. My brother got the first disc through netflix a while back (after US Season 1) and I couldn't get into it either. I just stopped watching, and so did he. You're not going to catch hell from me sir. ;)

Yeah, aside from Ricky Gervais I just don't feel a spark from that show. The thing with Dawn and Tim, I have NO interest in. I don't see any chemistry there, maybe it's subtle and I don't recognize it or maybe I'm so amazed by Krasinski and Fischer that nothing can compare. lol Gareth, well....he's no Dwight. Dwight is a jackass but a loveable one at that. Unlike this Gareth fellow. It doesn't matter though, I shouldn't even compare because they really are 2 different shows (save for the same pilot and a few other carry over points like Dwight/Gareth's own office ;) ) but anyway I know the BBC version has its following that sees the American version as inferior and I respect that either way.

Back to Dwight now, hey UKW have you watched the episode "Dwight's Speech" recently ? I've played that SEVERAL times in the past week, I just can't get over that speech. :D The pounding on the podium, the yelling, it's all golden. lol
"Blood alone moves the wheels of history!!!!!"
"We must never acquiesce!!!"

No I haven't seen that episode since it aired. That one also mysteriously disappeared from my DVR. I know which one you are talking about, because that speech is unforgettable, but what else happened during that episode? Refresh my memory if you will. :D

07-01-2006, 04:58 AM
I would be delighted to. :D

Of course the whole episode leads up to the speech and in the process we see Jim sending Dwight down that path by claiming to be a pubic address major in college and then giving Dwight some speeches by Mussolini and telling him to pound with his hands to make his points.

Also on the Jim front, he plans a trip for the time of Pam's wedding so he won't have to witness that...and speaking of the wedding, Pam is working on the plans with Kelly which means that poor Ryan has to help, too. :D Poor Kelly, she gets bummed out when Ryan says he never plans to get married. :crazed:

What else can I recall offhand...oh, the opening segment is hilarious with Michael and Dwight playing catch with a football until it turns into keep-away from Michael, so Dwight tackles ryan to get it back. lol

Something else from the speech itself, Michael brags the whole episode about how he gave a speech 2 years in a row for being top salesman in 1996/7 and he kept telling Dwight that he couldn't teach him enough in time to make a good speech. So while Dwight had stagefright and delayed his speech, Michael tried to fill in and TOTALLY bombed. Good stuff. lol

Thank you kind sir!

Yea, I definitely need to watch that one again. The whole speech bit is classic. I knew Michael got up there for some reason, but I couldn't remember. That Michael is a piece of work. (I'm still picturing him trying to stick his foot in that Cat Scan machine from "The Injury") lol

There are 3 episodes on next week and one of them is the one where Dwight finds pot in the parking lot. Good stuff!

Oh yeah, "Drug Testing" ... I love that one. Michael and the Alicia Keyes concert is too funny. Creed sure knows a bunch about weed, it seems.

Hewy UKW, QUESTION: (homage to Dwight :D ) What are the other 2 that will be on? :)

UKWildcat
07-01-2006, 07:02 PM
The other two are "Conflict Resolution" and "Casino Night". Is Conflict Resolution the one where Toby has that big box filled with Dwights complaints that were supposed to goto Corporate? lol

2-1B
07-01-2006, 07:09 PM
Yup ! And it's also the Win/Win (Win) bit between Michael and Pam.

Drug Testing, Conflict Resolution, and Casino Night are the final three episodes of season 2, so I guess they're playing a nice little trilogy this week.

I'm watching "Halloween" right now...Michael with that second head, come one now. :D And Dwight as a Sith Lord? Need I comment? :D

Awesome! I'm assuming you have the entire season saved on your DVR? I lost many episodes some how.

With your new av (which is awesome) and JMGs (which is also awesome), I may have to rock an Office'tar.

no DVR for me, but in my disgust over not having all of season 2 on tape, not to mention spread over several tapes (what episodes I did have), I caved and spent much of a whole Sunday downloading the complete season on iTunes.

I know I'm crazy because the DVD is on the way BUT I'm an addict and the show is so rewatchable that I play it everynight when I go to bed...so I already got my money's worth.

Poor Devin just got fired. :( I love how Creed tells Michael, "get Jan on the phone and let's fight this like the old days." lol lol lol

As you can tell, I'm also a huge Office fan. I can't say I have a favorite episode, because I love them all, but Diversity Day and Booze Cruise stand out. I love Dwight in Booze Cruise. "I was the youngest pilot in Pan Am history. I sat on the pilot's lap and flew the plane. I was gonna land it too, but my dad wanted us to get back to our seats." :D

There is no way I could pick A favorite episode. That would be impossible. "The Injury" is definitely in my top 5 though.

Should this thread get merged with the one in the TV section?

My God, The Injury is tops, followed closely by Sexual Harassment from season 1. The show is hilarious, but I (and I think I'm alone, having talked to a few people about this) was creeped out by Jim "stalking" Pam up to the office at the end of Casino Night. Not sure why it weirded me out... but Pam seemed okay with it.

I didn't find it creepy JR, I didn't think of it as Jim stalking her...he already walked away in the parking lot and then he went back up there later so I didn't even know for sure if he knew she was up there? Either way, I love it. :)

Hey Cae, guess what movie I watched tonight? :D

Well....?

Hey, I watched 40 Year Old Virgin for the first time in awhile last night and this time I spotted Jenna Fischer, I knew she was in there but I hadn't noticed her before. I spotted her this time, tough !

Well....?
I thought it was a pretty good little movie. If you hadn't been raving about it Caesar I probably wouldn't have expected much out of it. But I was pleasantly surprised. There were some really funny parts. One of the best was Jenna and James' skit when they were presenting to Larry. His "artist renderings" were awesome too. The "You Matter" one was great. "I got flies all around my head, I got smells coming out of me, I got googly eyes going in different directions." lol Another hilarious part was towards the end when they were handing out lo.lipops and the one crazy bum said he to Jenna that he would **** her bloody g**h. I about died when the bum spit on James. lollollol

I really enjoyed it Caesar. I didn't know it was a Troma release and I was pleased to see Father Lloyd make an appearance. The movie was a little on the short side. Netflix said it was an 1hr and 20 min but it was really only like 62 mins I believe. That's okay though. There appear to be some really good extras and I look forward to checking them out when I purchase the dvd. ;) :D

Hell yeah ! Glad you liked it. :D Indeed, the extras are strong and make up for the short running time.

Jenna did all those illustrations, from the ones they used to pitch the idea to the kama sutra rape ones...that's why I like the Office line that she gives about how she likes to do illustrations. lol lol lol

James Gunn is the best, he really cracks me up. What an a-hole at times in that movie. lol

Hold on for a Virgin reference, I'm gonna queue it up here and give you a screen cap. She's in the bar scene when Carell is hitting on Leslie Mann.
