I dunno if this is nationwide, but my area Target store had VOTC on sale for $6.98 today when I stopped in. So, if you have yet to buy these figures, you might wanna check Target! HH!

The last number being 8 means its marked as clearance which is done at the store level, not company wide.

I didn't notice what they were at Target yesterday, but I have all the ones I'm going to get. If they were that cheap, maybe I'd get more Tuskens and Scouts. Wal-Mart and Fred Meyer still have them for $9.96 and $9.99, respectively.

i stopped by the burbank target today and they had Demise of Grievous on clearance for $10 something, VTSC's for $10 and change as well and Skirmish in the Senate for $16 and change.

Target is beginning the Reset Season (aka Back to School, Fall Holidays and such) so late Spring/Summer stuff is being clearance out (going, going, Gone).

I think the UGH idea was good but the timing was iffy (but that is a topic onto itself).

also, i stopped at a wal-mart in the dayton, OH area tonight and their figures were about 8.99 a piece now. They have to drop at my store, but still, keep your eyes peeled!

My local Target went down to $10 something like frigin bran but still being higher than WM it was not really worth any excitement. The battlepacks might deserve another pick up if they get cheap enough.

discounting vtsc to 10.18 doesn't mean so much when wm & tru's had em for $10 all along, unbeknownst to me :ermm:

Everything at my local target is at the regular price. I'm not sure if someone else has notice this but the basic figures are $5.89 at Target and the receipt doesn't show it as a sale price.

Prices are marked down at mine. VTSC is $10.98 and the Skirmish sets are $16.98. Oh and Grievous was $10.98, IIRC as well. I know for sure he was marked down.

Man I wish those Skirmish sets would come down to $10...

Sal were you wanting the clones or the pods? I wan't some extra pods but unless they go to $3-$4 dollars I doubt I will buy as many as I want. But if there is someone that doesn't want the pods and just wants the clones....

One of the Targets in my area (Albuquerque) just lowered Skirmish in the Senate to 13.98 today. I've been checking everyday for the last week for a further markdown. I picked up two. Trying to get some Senate pods for all those Senators I have. The lady I talked to said they change the price about every two weeks. If they go down considerably next time I will get three or four if there is any left. Don't know what I'm gonna do with an army of Yodas and Emperors though.

One of my Targets had three dedicated areas for the Battlepacks since they have so damn many of them. Maybe if they go under $5 then I'll get more and then retool the Palpatine and Yoda figures into other costumes or something.

I think that a WM near me priced the VTSC figures at $7 or something. Maybe I'll eventually get more Scouts and Tuskens.

Most of the targets have already cleared out the battle packs around here or they are at $16 still. I was did pick up a Tusken Raider for $3. Buying a $3 figure on the old card made me have flashbacks for a bit.

For that price, I may even buy the Grievous if I find him.

I was waiting for Skirmish to go down to $10-$12 to buy one. There was one on the shelf yesterday, a bit bashed, but intact. It had been $16.98 on Monday. It was $4.98. They probably could've gotten more for it, since $12 for four figures is a nice deal, and $4.98 is criminal to pass up.

I hear ya. I got a call from a local collector yesterday informing me about this. I quickly called my fiancee and she went off to take a look. Scored 3 Skirmish sets for me. Absolutely NO VTSC figs though. Damn, as I could have build up some Tuskens, Scouts and even Rebel pilots, using Luke to custom.

Still I'm glad to have cashed in on the battle packs. You're right Chux, that would have been criminal to pass on.

I picked up a Skirmish set today at my Frederick MD Target for $4.98.

For you Target employees out there: Can you project how low an item like this would go as far as clearance prices are concerned? 4.98 seems pretty low, but the greedy part of me thinks it could have gone lower. What's the rock bottom, and when do they finally yank it from the system?

El Chuxter
07-29-2006, 08:41 AM
I'm not a Target employee, but I'll wager this is as low as it'll go. Then, two weeks or a month from now, their system will be reset and any that remain (fat chance of that) will be back to $19.99. I've noticed them doing that an awful lot.

VidKidd

Well Your almost right Chuxter. In about a month the numbers for that will most likely get deleted out of the system, the merch will become salvage, then it gets donated and sold for what ever the place it gets send to chooses to sell it for. as far as i can remember heres the breakdown.

This is the lowest i know they go
ROTS basic went to $1.28
Exclusive battle packs go as low as $4.98
Exclusive figure ($12.99 ones) go as low as $3.25
Saga Vintage are as low as $3.25
Thats all that would come into play now. They may be a few cents off but for the most part this is about right.

The most they usally go for is 75% off, ive seen other toys go as far as 90% but starwars/collectables usally only get to 75% before they go bye bye.
Hope i was of some help to some of you.

Too bad I missed this round of Target blow-outs. Doh!! I remember picking up four B-Wings at 4.98. So the ships even go that low, or did once. I felt a little greedy at the time, but traded one for a TRU Interceptor, and another for a Dack Snowspeeder. Which I otherwise would have not been able to get.

Mad Slanted Powers

I guess I missed out. I think they had a few Skirmish sets and a lot of VTSC last Saturday. I went in today and there were none. I saw the clearance tags on the pegs where the VTSC had been. The place where the Battle Packs were are now filled with more Transformers.

I guess I can do without another Skirmish set. The only reason to get an extra is for the pod and the troopers. Need another Yoda and Emperor, I do not. I wouldn't have minded having another Biker Scout and Tusken, but the two each that I have opened will do.

VidKidd, do you work at Target? I'm curious why some items are clearanced down to 75%-90% of the original cost, cleared out completely, then restocked the following week at the original cost? I've seen it happen most obviously with the final (Four Horsemen-designed) wave of Harry Potter figures, and a few times with Marvel Legends. Just seems odd to me.

Yeah i work at target. As far as some things being clearnced one week and pack the next week, well sometimes the system goes wack. I remember about a year ago, where one day all DVD Box Set all went doen to $5.99, yes i mean tv series, movie packs whatever. They werent marked clearence, but when scanned they rang up at $5.99, until someone caught it and cleared the floor so the store didnt lose out on anymore money, then the next day they were pack to normal. Also sometimes if a manufactor changes the packaging, or if a barcode changes, that can also cause stuff to go clearence. That would be my guess with the harry potter toy, manufactor may of change barcodes so the original barcode my of went clearance. Other then that i cant see why else it would happen to be honest. Also with the marvel legend, thety ight try to clear an old wave out so they can get the new one in. For example i was at my local TRU yesterday and the had the new wave out, but undernearth were about 20 ghost riders on clearence for like 3 bucks.
hope i helped someone to try and answer your question. I did what i could.
