JSA #87:
The story more or less resolves in terms of both
events, and theme. The story itself is not
earth-shattering, and the general direction of DC
seems to indicate a reluctance to overly define things
for the moment. As this story contains a number of
retcons (some major, some rather hasty and contrived
seeming), it is unlikely to stick past the "final"
reboot. The last page, and general content, of "Brave
New World" more or less slap the reader in the face
and scream "the reboot ain't over yet". DC is also
changing the numbering system on this book, proving a
good "cold stop/restart" point for readers and
editors. Grade: B/C The writer and editor are
laboring under a lousy corporate policy. And, the
upcoming series is written by Johns, which is
worrisome.
