View Full Version : I hate it when I can't fall asleep! It's 4:30am now!

OK, I lay down in bed at midnight. I stared at the ceiling (well actually tried all different kinds of positions) until 1. Then I got up and cleaned my master bathroom. Then I took a warm shower as that helps relax me. Then I ate a snack. Then I arrived here to post about it because I'm still frustrated as heck.

I need to reverse my nights and days here fast before I sleep through Comic Con!

I am going to try getting some extra exercise tomorrow, then drinking some wine or something before bed.

Something's gotta work.

have you talked to your doctor about it tycho? i typically have no trouble falling asleep, but with the medication i'm on for an ear infection i can't sleep at all.

In college I used to have a roommate that snored really, REALLY loud. It got tot he pint I'd just lay in bed at night wishing I would be able to fall asleep. Even thoguh I was tired, warn out, nothing helped, untill...

I discovered the magic of having a few drinks before bed. Not drinking till I was hammered but juts 2 drinks than I'd sleep fine.

So the wine you suggested Tycho might work. Just be careful not to get to dependant on alcohol :) And if you do get too boozed up it is also a good idea not to bid on ebay, post on forums, or call ex-girlfirends :)

Talk to the doctor. There are a good number of non-habit forming sleeping aids on the market, I have a few friends that need them to get enough sleep during the day to work all night.

I swear though, too much computer monitor/tv watching before you try and get to sleep, and you'll have a tough time. Try giving yourself a full hour away from an electronic interface before going to bed (I know, not as easy as it sounds), and see if that helps.

What's funny is that I actually do get tired from trying to keep up with all the posts in these forums.

ActionFigs.com has the benefit of being so pieceful. SSG is like a raging party all the time (but that's why it's so much fun!)

But it does wear me out so the forums are good.

I've tried Lunesta. I'm out of it right now. I don't have another Doctor's appointment until Aug. 2nd (with my kidney specialist). I suppose I can schedule something with my primary physician but may try the wine first. There's a wine bar in the mixed uses of my apartment complex (along with a spa, stock broker, Hawaiian restaurant, coffee shop, dry cleaners, etc.) and there always seems to be a light crowd over at the wine bar. It might be fun and sociable and I only have to walk to the other side of the promenade's driveway circle.

Bantha - I hate snorers. I stayed part of the time with my best friend and his wife when I went to Celebration 3 in Indianapolis. They left earlier and I got a room to myself later for "my other adventure in Indianapolis" (What happens in Indy stays in Indy ;) ) But my friend and his wife nearly inhaled the hotel's drapery. I got so mad I woke them up and started a fight with him and his wife until they took their Claratin!

Caesar - the big mirrors are in my guest bedroom as sliding mirrored doors to the closet. My girl and I like to fool around in there as she's a freak for the mirror and it's hot to star in your own porno like that - especially with the little magazine model babe I've picked up recently. That being said, everything will be new, washed, and welcoming when SirSteve arrives.

[Heavey DARTH VADER breathing]: "The guest bedroom will be completed on schedule."

Steve: "You've done well Lord Tycho. And now I sense you would like to continue your search for sanity."

Tycho: "If I could only get enough sleep, My Master."

You can also call ex-girlfriends when you're over-tired. It's called being a DWOT. Boy was I a DWOT tonight, too. :rolleyes:

Oh - I laid down to sleep like at 10:30pm as I had a very busy day and after I took my nightly load of blood pressure medacine I'm prescribed, I felt tired. Apparently feeling tired is not enough as it's now 11:30pm and I'm instead tired of tossing and turning and am back online posting on the internet. Great.
