View Full Version : He would be taunting us mercilessly for our shock and sadness...

...but he would make the point with some perfect passage of dialogue from an episode of ST-TOS/TNG/DS9/Voyager/Enterprise, or one of the films.
I've been raising more than a couple glasses to Jean tonight, and I plan to raise a couple more before I let this night end.
Jean vT, you were without question the glue that held this forum and this group of collectors together through the slow and rough times. No one posted more consistently or worked harder to bring true collectors together with each other and with the items we sought.
But I know you'd be b1+ch-slapping me for being sentimental like this, so I am going to shut up and go back to my Booker's, neat.
I offer two images I came across tonight, one serious and one light-hearted, to hopefully bring a needed smile to everyone.
That's a great tribute Swaffy, today I was thinking back to when VT was starting up with his task of parting out dee's collection and you're right about how he was anti-sentimental...in dee's thread while everyone else was posting how sorry they were about her being sick, VT was prompting everyone to hurry up with their requests and fly in like vultures because time was of the essence. I don't have an exact quote but it's in that thread somewhere.
Nice tribute, Swafman.

And I always thought "Bones" was a noun?......

When I'm off work tonight, I'll have a pint to Jean, too :)
You're totally right in that he would totally be smearing me for my post in his folk's thread, but hey, I would have enjoyed taunting him back and so on.
I'll miss the man :)

Swaffy, you're totally right, he would dog us for our sentimental outpouring - he and I even had a discussion on that in Marilyn's thread last year. I secretly think he had some room for it in him, but felt we should all express our setminentality through actions rather than words - and he'd be right, thus winning yet another argument here, which he would have taken without much gloating.
I honestly don't know what he would have made of that second photo Swaffy, but he would have appreciated your joke in post 3. :D
(BTW, side note, I appreciate the email, sorry for no reply yet, been hard to juggle a lot of issues the past week.)

Yeah, I'm afraid the quantity of good judgment that comes out of me is inversely proportionate to the quantity of good bourbon that goes into me. Sorry if anyone took offense. It was meant purely to bring a grin on a grim night.

Don't worry about me on that, I didn't take offense, I thought it was funny, I honestly have no idea how VT would have taken it - he might have found it witty, I dunno.
