The Special Clone...

What is the so special about Boba Fett. It's been rumored (probably fact now) that Boba is a gift to Jango for his DNA to make an Army of Clones. So I am asking why is Boba different from the other clones, does he have higher test scores or is it something else. Some rumors have said that Boba was the first clone to be made but I don't buy it, something else makes him special and I what to figure it out…

From what I've read, Boba's only difference is that he ages at a normal human rate. The other clones suposedly age at twice the speed (or more) of a standard human.

Here's an interesting quandary...

Does Boba KNOW he's a clone? Or does he just think he's a regular "son" born the regular way? And does he ever find out he's not? That would make for a good EU story...

Are we saying special as in gifted and/or advanced, or are we saying special as in handicapped mentally?

I reckon it's the latter cuz the Boba from the OT is certainly not gifted apart from being able to follow a really huge ion engine signature that an imbecile couldn't fail to spot. he doesn't show any kind of specialness in the OT so I can only assume that he is mentally impaired and 'special'. He probably wears that autism head harness thingy that Jango wears too under his helmet. OMG!!! I just realised that Lucas is going to unmask Fett in the OT and make him into something more than he is. Lucas will assume all the fans want this and give Fett all new lines and scenes that he'll CGI into existing scenes and totally **** the OT irrevocably. Fett sucks and there's nothing gonna change my mind. he's just a grunt in a bucket, a hired hand, a spawny eyed wazzock with a gun he can't shoot straight. Special? Good question Rollo. I think the answer will probably be left to the EU as you suggested. Although, I will say if he doesn't catch on, then he leads a VERY sheltered life in Jango's apartment on Kamino. "Hey there go twenty other kids who look just like me, and twenty more that looked like me when I was 5, and those look like my Dad, and those look like a younger version of my Dad........or an older version of myself....HEY POP what the heck is going on here?" Seriously, I think he knows his origins. I doubt whether he actually does or does not will be a subject addressed on screen though.

No,No, NO!! The real reason boba is "special" is because he's the only character in the films who knows where the audience is, and that he's in a film. Jargo, you should have known this, that scene you like so much in the "special"(SEE?!?) edition of ANH, where boba doesn't seem to have any reason to be added, UNTIL he looks right at YOU, letting you know that he knows more than ANYONE. I think gl will expand this aside feature by having boba speak continually to the audience in AOTC, in a malcom in the middle fashion, and sometimes with really IRONIC consequences- I'm laughing already!! (this also explains the preview clonetroopers stance- it's pure shtick!) Woooooo!!!

one thing I know already about Jango is that he isn't very bright. If you read the missing apprentice thread you'll note that Obi gets a heck of a lot of information from jango concerning the plot with the droid army and master Sydo dios. It would appear that jango volunteers this information freely to a Jedi who is snooping around and is obviously trying to find out more. jango leads Obi straight to geonosis and straight to the droid foundries. How dumb is that for a bounty hunter extraordinaire hmm? not very bright at all. So if Boba is a clone it follows that he too isn't very bright. Hicks, the pair of them. Slave - 1 has a pressurised cabin which is apparent from the fact that jango flies his ship sans helmet. Boba on the other hand feels the need to wear the helmet at all times despite the fact that he looks through a black visor into a black void called space when piloting. Dumb dumb dumb. " Huh huh huh, look at me, I'm SPECIAL..."
Obviously when they began the cloning of jango the first off the production line was a test that went horribly wrong and Boba is a few genes short of a full mix. Therefore he's a dud which is why the kaminoans were so eager to palm him off onto Jango as a 'special' 'gift'. What we don't get to see is jango turning to boba just before Obi knocks on the door of the Tipoca apartment saying "For pity's sake Boba - stop chewing the darned carpet! How many times have I gotta tell you you aint no bantha boy. And stop banging your head agianst the wall like that. Is that froth in your mouth? Are you having a fit again....?"

And what we never saw in ESB was Boba flying Slave - 1 round and round in circles laughing like a maniac while he smashed a half brick onto his forehead repeatedly. That's why he's a man of few words, he just doesn't know any cause he's brain dead. :crazed:

How does Jango steer that rocket pack? there's no controls and it can't be controlled from the helmet can it? how would he do that, with his teeth? Blink control? imagine if he blinked at the wrong moment, he'd be off to deep space before you knew it. He's got both hands on his guns or his wrist dart or his grappling hook and still manages to fly around totally free and easy. It just defies logic to me. :zzz:

I think he steers it by clenching his gluteus maximus or something like that. Notice on the 300th Boba fett that he has a MONSTER ding right on the codpiece- I believe that someone tried to knock out his "controls", but he spun around and killed them, letting what would have been a death blow bounce harmlessly of of his groin.
Seriously, though, good point DD. The best REAL explanation would be one you suggested, concerning some type of mastoid controls. The butt clenching theory works too, but a subdermal mastoid switch would be a little classier. Wooooooooooo!!!
